Shuck, kayak, crab, clam, or just relax on the deck of our beautifully restored 1930’s beach Cottage, right at the water’s edge. 315' of oyster rich no bank waterfront on a sheltered cove. Everyone will have fun!
Also available for rent are our adjacent Octopus Hole Beach Cabin (VRBO listing #163757) and our adjacent Big Gray 1930's Beach Cabin (VRBO listing #575843). All 3 cabins are located right next to each other, right on the beach. Listing #163757 has a hot tub and #575843 has a hot tub and a sauna.
Rent two or all three cabins for a large group. They are ideal for family reunions…plenty of room to celebrate together while each family also has their own space.
The Studio’s interior has vaulted ceilings of combed cedar and a really cool bathroom with pebble floor and walk-in shower.
This is a studio unit with a queen-size Murphy bed that pulls out of the wall and two European-style (comfortable...no springs!) queen-size sofa sleepers.
Amenities include flat-screen, DirecTV, DVD/BluRay, fully-appointed studio kitchen, linens, bedding, Weber gas BBQ with side burner, washer/dryer, outside shared fire pit, deck furniture.
Property is on a cove with 315' of no bank beach frontage (we own the tidelands). The location is friendly and private. The cove makes it very easy to launch kayaks so be sure to bring them. Or, you can rent kayaks (and kayak crab pots) from Kayak Brinnon ... they will deliver and pick up for just a small fee.
A boat launch is less than 10 minutes away and a sheltered mooring buoy is available right in front of the cabin. Trailer parking is also available.
We are located One Cove North of renowned Octopus Hole Dive Site on Hood Canal, near Lilliwaup, Washington. We are minutes from Hoodsport amenities and nearby Olympic National Park.

I am a Pacific Northwest Natives who enjoys fishing, hiking, skiing, and generally enjoying everything the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. I have owned the Hood Canal cabins since 2001, when the cabins began a painstaking renovation. I hope you love the cabins and Hood Canal as much as I do!
Suzanne purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Suzanne chose Hoodsport
The West side of Hood Canal offers both salt-water fun and hiking opportunities in the Olympic Peninsula. You can scuba dive, snowshoe, hike the Staircase, fish, and mountain climb, all within minutes of the cabin. Very few places in the world offer such diversity. Oh, and did I mention the oysters right outside the front door?
What makes this Cottage unique
It's very relaxing. Not just the view of the water , fun on the beach, or storm-watching in the winter, the cabins are warm and inviting. We're less than 2 hours from Seattle, but you really feel like you've gotten away from it all.

Peaceful stay at the beach.
We loved our stay at the smallest of the three cottages. Everything was beautifully maintained and the cottage manages to retain that wonderful vintage look with the modern conveniences you may wish for. The beach on Hood Canal was beautiful and loaded with oysters and the area very peaceful. My wife enjoyed watching the seals in the evening. Communication and support from the owner is absolutely fantastic and a lot of items for enjoying the beach are provided. I hope to return this coming summer with my family and highly recommend this property to anyone.
Beautiful weekend getaway
Suzanne's little cabin on the Hood Canal was a perfect getaway for Labor Day weekend. My girlfriend & I had an amazing time swimming at high tide and picking oysters from the private beach in front of the house. We also spent a day fishing & kayaking on Lake Kokanee, a short drive south of the cabin. The little cabin was clean and had everything we needed for cooking all the seafood we enjoyed during our stay. Suzanne was extremely communicative and I would wholeheartedly recommend her cabin. I hope to visit again soon.
We greatly enjoyed our weekend at this sweet little cabin. It was fully stocked, with everything we could possibly need. We really appreciated the kitchen utensils and appliances being in such great condition. The cabin was also very clean. The owner let us check in a little early, and that was greatly appreciated! We spent many hours on the beautiful deck overlooking the canal. We will definitely return!
Amazing location, adorable cottage!!
We loved everything about this place. The proximity to the beach was incredible and the cottage was cozy and well stocked. We'll definitely be back!
Having searched for the "perfect cabin" for months, we spotted this one early on but kept searching and kept going back to it and we're so glad we did. We stayed for 4 nights and wished we had longer as the cabin was as enchanting as the view from the deck. The weather was nothing less than perfect and on Tuesday we never left the confines of the deck chairs all day. We were perfectly content to watch the tide come in and go back out. We also were fortunate enough to witness 6 killer whales about 1/4 mile off the beach as they fed on they're prey. Wednesday there were several sea lions sleeping on the raft right in front of the cabin when we had our morning coffee on the deck. All in all, a great stay, perfect cabin, perfect hosts, perfect weather, we can't wait to go back, respectfully, Tim and Margie
Absolutely Perfect Getaway
This cottage was perfect and lived up to all of the pictures, descriptions and reviews....right down to the neighboring seals! Everything you needed was provided, well taken care of and decorated in the cutest way. Not to mention the owners were great to work with, very responsive and totally understanding of our situation.
The location is perfect and right on the water. The beautiful picture window allowed you to see the beautiful and relaxing scenery throughout the day. We even took our 3 year old son on the tail end of February and still found time to play outside on the beach, swinging on the tree ropes, looking under rocks for creatures and skipping rocks. I definitely plan to come back in the summer!
