We just got back from our wedding weekend in LP, staying here with our entire wedding party and I have to say this place is unbelievable! The pictures really do not do it any justice; the beauty of this home and its surroundings cannot be beat. It is luxurious, comfortable, very well kept, and spacious. We had an absolute blast, and it was the perfect place for us to stay all together and for our "getting ready" pictures before the wedding! The owner is also extremely nice and accommodating, and we really did not have any problems at all during our stay. It is just outside of town but is just a very short drive away. We never felt as if going into town or to our venue was a huge trek, but certainly this isn't the place to be if you'd like to be able to walk to town. The view, accommodations, and the atmosphere here are totally worth that sacrifice, though in my opinion! I highly recommend anyone looking for a large rental in LP for a get together with family and/or friends to consider this place!
The camp provided an excellent experience for my family and I during the Ironman race. There were some issues with appliances, but the owner was very responsive and did what they could to fix them. The house had plenty of parking, living space, a great kitchen, and views of White Face mountain. We would return!
The pictures dont do this place any justice. Truly an amazing getaway home with tons of hangout space for large groups. Stop your search here and book this place.
We could not have dreamed up a better place for our extended family of 11 to gather for a visit in Lake Placid. The house is perfectly appointed in every way -- that kitchen is to die for! -- with stunning views, plenty of room for everyone to spread out, extreme comfort and amenities galore. The owner provided all the information we needed and answered every question beforehand; the house was in perfect shape when we arrived and not one of us wanted to leave when our time was over.
The location was great for us -- not in the midst of any tourist season crowds, but so easily accessible for downtown Lake Placid, the Olympic sites or mountain hiking (and we were able to do all three!). Our only regret is that we could not watch the Summer Olympics together on a big TV, because there *is* no TV. That was a minor issue, though, as we were able to stream coverage on laptops thanks to wifi.
All in all, a stunning home, wonderful owners to deal with and a location ideal for our adventures. Thank you!
We stayed here for a weekend with extended family. The lcation was perfect. You felt completely secluded but were only 5-10 minute drive to downtown Lake Placid. The house itself was very beautiful. The outside was well done, with beautiful decks to enjoy the scenery. When you walk into the house, there is a very large foyer with over 10 coat hooks. We had 12 people and were able to put all of our coats and boots there without it being in the way. When you step through the front door you see straight back to that beautiful, amazing view out the back large picture window. The kitchen was very high end with an enormous island and a great built in griddle. Everything you would need to cook was there. The only thing I would recommend is to bring tupperware in case you have leftovers you want to bring home. Between the dining room table and the stools you could comfortably fit 14-15 people.
The mainfloor was very well laid out. The heated floors in the main living areas was a bonus. The furniture was a bit tired looking in the family room except for that beautiful leather couch. The rooms were well appointed. There were several lighbulbs out, though, throughout the house. The shower curtain in the masterbath could use being replaced. The downstairs was not as nice at the upstairs but was fine. There is a pingpong table, a sofa, bunk room and the other bedroom. The downstairs bedroom has a curtain, no door, I think because the doorway is too large for a door. The bathroom for that queen room is down the hall. The bunk room had a very nice double sink bathroom right in the room.
I would HIGHLY recommend this house. The location and proximity to Lake Placid can't be beat. The kitchen and gathering areas are very cozy and well laid out. And lastly, I would go back just for that amazing view alone. It was truly breathtaking!!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is well decorated, cozy and comfortable to accommodate a large group of friends and family. The location is unbeatable!
Our group of eight had an outstanding time at this beautiful Lake Placid home. We prepared a wonderful Thanksgiving meal in the gourmet kitchen, shared lots of laughs around the stunning island, and warmed ourselves in front of the lovely fireplace. Plenty of room and privacy for everyone! The location is perfect, so close to great walking on the Jackrabbit Trail and a quick jaunt to town. Two from our group made the short drive to Whiteface for early season skiing. The views are stunning and the owner is a delight to coordinate with. This home is a winner!
Steps away from the Jackrabbit Trial www.jackrabbittrail.org which is a magnificent trail system that connects ski trails from Keene to Saranac Lake. Ski from the camp to Cascade X-C Ski Center or Mt. Van Hoevenberg Olympic X-C Ski Center.
