Guestbook comments from the owner

This cabin is unbelievable! My boyfriend took me there for my birthday where we stayed for four nights. We are a young, active and outdoor loving couple and this was perfect. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the drive to Linville Falls and Caverns the first day. The scenic 30 minute drive was a vacation in itself. Also in the four days, we visited Chimney Rock, Downtown Ashville, Downtown Blowing Rocks, hiked Grandfather Mountain and DuPont National Forest where we hiked the 3 best falls in Western North Carolina (Triple Falls, High Falls and Hooker Falls). All the places we visited took about 30-45 minutes to get to. However, we very rarely got on the interstate roads. We live in a busy city near the beach so for us, the drive through the mountains to get to where we wanted to go was ideal and then we could escape the tourist attractions to go home to the cabin. This cabin was conveniently tucked away in the middle of the mountain, not too high up where it takes a long time to get to the roads but not too close where you hear traffic. It was perfect!

The owners of this cabin did a wonderful job decorating with theme rooms like horses and bears. The 3 bedrooms are decorated with a country mountain feel, Wi-Fi was included so we could still communicate with home, a huge kitchen to cook in, a fireplace to warm up to and most importantly, a breathtaking view of the mountains from their front porch rocking chairs. There are local grocery stores nearby so we did a lot of cooking and this kitchen had everything we needed. We would hike during the day and come back at night to relax, cook and have a glass of wine and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains and cabin. Early in the morning on our way to our destinations, we saw deer, bobcats and other wildlife.

"Grizzly Den" is a perfect mountain getaway for any time of the year, any age and any activity level. We are already communicating with the owners to visit again in the summer with our children, ages 8 and 13. We picked up many broachers for our next trip which include area attractions like zip lines, Carowind's theme park, geming, hiking, caves and white water rafting that our children can't wait to visit! All of these things are relatively close to the cabin. Overall, this cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway, family getaway with kids, outdoor lovers, retired couples looking for peace and quiet or anyone who just wants to escape to the quiet and beautiful North Carolina Mountains!

Just as discribed. A beautiful home and great location.

We celebrated our 50th Anniversary, in the North Carolina mountains. Our stay at the cabin was great. Everything we needed, was there for us, a very comfortable home, in a great location for taking advantage of all of the things to do and see. We would choose this cabin again in the future.

Beautiful, clean, cozy cabin in quiet gated community

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our family of five’s trip to the mountains. Beautiful, clean, and so cozy! Everyone throughly enjoyed their stay. My children loved the very nice community playground, basketball court, and mini golf which were within walking distance of the cabin. Highly recommend if you’re looking for peace and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Place was immaculate, response was immediately, only wish phone service was better, recently both had heart issues and was concerned if we needed medical help so cut vacation shorter. Believe that is a issues when you vacation in the mountains not owners issue

Would recommend to friends and family

My family had a wonderful time in your beautiful home in the mountains. The home was clean and was supplied with everything we needed. It was a little far from the places we wanted to see (Biltmore and Grandfather Mountain), but it was worth it.
