Beautiful views of Lake Michigan, stunning sunsets, house clean and well stocked. 7 female friends --plenty of room for all of us. Walked the beach daily basis. Fires every night. Quick 8 min drive to St Josephs -- which has a lot to do--shopping, farmers market, fun winery, good restaurants. Nothing to do directly around the house--but easy drive to St Josephs.

The stairs going downstairs were awkward and we had to watch the kids carefully so no one fell. Otherwise the house was comfortable and it was great to have enough space and restrooms. The kids loved the yard and the tire swing. The location was great to get to the public beach and town.

The property was lovely. We spent hours on the vast and nicely manicured lawn. The beautiful views of Lake Michigan were priceless and we thoroughly enjoyed the private beach. The house accommodated the 8 of us wonderfully. Nothing pretentious or over the top fancy, but for the most part, very comfortable and clean.

Trip to the lake was Awesome

We came and stayed for a basketball tournament. We had a tremendous time on the lake even though it was cold!

Great place for family

This house has so many bedrooms!!! We enjoyed the huge dining area to be able to make a puzzle and still have room to eat. The owner made an early check in possible. The stairs down to the beach are ALOT, but two of us made our way down. if you have small children i would watch the cliffs down to the lake but other than that, we had such a pleasant stay. Sunsets each night were stunning and the occasional freighter passing by made us very happy. Well stocked kitchen I can't think of a pot or pan you are missing. With all the bedrooms, and on different levels, this is perfect for a couple of families to stay.

Heavenly Stay on Lake Michigan

The property is stunning - huge, shady lawn leading to a bluff overlooking beautiful Lake Michigan. The house is lovely - plenty of room for our family of 9 - 6 adults and 3 kids ages 7-12, and it's equipped with everything you could need.We were fortunate to have several calm days on the lake, as well as several days with waves that the kids loved to play in. The stairs to the beach were a bit challenging at first, but we got used to it, and the gorgeous, private beach at the bottom makes it well worth the trip. Jodie is a very responsive host, and answered all our questions we had before we came. Loved our stay here! Thanks, Jodie!

Nice Property!

We had a wonderful time visiting the Benton Harbor/St. Joseph areas during the week we stayed at this rental. The vista views were amazing and the beach was so handy! The only suggestion that I would make is a good power wash of the back of the house and deck. Also the tire swing needs to be raised for swinging. We hope to be back some day! Thank you for sharing this lovely property with us!

Beautiful views! Relaxing getaway!

This property is gorgeous. The view is beautiful. The beach is private and clean. There are many things around to do if you'd like or if you just want to grab groceries and cookout on this little piece of heaven that will work too. There are plenty of books and board games to entertain the family! Jodie is a great host! We will be back!

Wonderful Stay!

We had a group of 10 ladies that stayed here for a girls weekend and it was the perfect place! We all had a bed to sleep on and plenty of bathrooms and space to hangout. The lake was such an added bonus and enjoyed the walk along it. Check in/out went smoothly. Definitely recommend!

Awesome stay for a group

We booked this property for a employee retreat - we had 8 adults stay. Plenty of room for everyone, great outdoor spaces for hanging out. We loved the large dining area (for eating and for board games) and the fire pit. We would absolutely return. Very clean and well-equipped!

An absolute gem

Jodie has found an absolute gem of a property and we are so thankful she is sharing it with others. The home was perfectly clean and the accommodations could not have been better. The home itself was one of the best I have rented, ever! The back porch and backyard are breathtaking. We spent so much time enjoying sunsets, fires in the fire pits, swings on the tire swing and more. This property would get a 5/5 with just everything I mentioned. However, it also has an utterly fantastic beach. The walk down (and up) was very manageable for my 2.5 year old and 5 year old, along with my 65+ parents. The beachfront is super clean and stocked with all the chairs and toys you could need. In addition, the area around the property was great too. For runners/walkers/bikers there were so many great options for us to get some miles in. Thank you for letting us rent your home!

Just a GREAT time had so much fun!!

The home was better than expected. It was clean and very inviting . The home is decorated very nice and we all felt just at home. It is nice that you do not have to do a second mortgage just to go and that is very much appreciated. Good job Jodie!!

Amazing Lake Michigan Sunsets

We sure enjoyed our month long winter stay. Great price and so much room. The lakeside bay window was a favorite spot of mine. And when I ventured outside, standing on the cliff looking out over the ever changing lake was a wonderful experience. Communication with the owner was very good.

Covid Wedding Adventures

This house was great, the location was beautiful, and we had everything we needed. What was supposed to be a wedding group of friends from across the US, turned out to be just 4 of us, but we loved the deck and the spacious opportunities for social distancing.

Great Stay

Got friends and family together for a weekend getaway to this property and it was really nice. The house was clean and well maintained. The property was big with a nice private beach that the kids really enjoyed. The property manager was really easy to work with and was quick to respond to any questions I had. I hope that in the future we can come back again.

Better than expected!

The kids (9-18) all had fun! Even nicer than the pictures posted. And probably best of all is there were plenty of chairs, umbrellas, buckets, and inner tubes in the shed beachside that there was no need to carry anything but a cooler and towels to the beach! Four amazing lounge chairs on the lawn over the bluff was my favorite part with a cup of coffee at 9am. Already planning our trip for next year!

Couples Getaway

The house is perfect for a fall getaway. Enough room for 5 couples to stay very comfortably. Plenty of kitchen items & very clean. The property is spectacular outside, unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate so we couldn’t have a fire pit & sit outdoors (plenty of seating for everyone). But we did grill. Location was perfect, very close to downtown St Joe & not far from South Haven. Next time we stay in Michigan we will definitely stay here.

Great place for family or large group

Beautiful inside! We loved having a table that sat at least 10 and a very comfortable living room. The openness of the house was conducive to chatting and relaxing. The view of the lake was gorgeous and we enjoyed taking the 223 steps down to the beach for a wintry walk. The place was clean and comfortable with a nice kitchen. The beds were comfy but a little too soft. Our party of 8 (one toddler) enjoyed it a lot!

Very large, clean property with many things to do.

We stayed for two nights for our daughters wedding. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. Loved the large kitchen table and family room. There was a large selection of board games for you to play. We could not have ask for a better place. Thank you so much.

Hi! I am Jodie Nettelhorst. My husband and I have owned this house and property since 2000. My family has been vacationing in Southwest Michigan since I was young. My mom owns the house and property next door but it just wasn't big enough now that my siblings and I have families of our own. So, my husband and I bought this property so we could have more room for more people to visit and vacation together. My siblings and I look forward to the whole family getting together one week in the summer for our reunion, no matter where in the world everyone is living. We do our best to maintain and improve our property by reinvesting our profits every year. We work to create and maintain a safe, fun, comfortable place for our family and other families to relax and enjoy. We enjoy it when other families can come and share in our special place on the lake.

My family has been enjoying vacations in Southwest Michigan all my life. We started vacationing in New Buffalo. As it got more crowded, we moved up to the St. Joseph area. Around 1990, my mom bought her first vacation house in the area on Lake Michigan. It is beautiful property but as my siblings and I married and had kids we outgrew the house. In 2000 my Mom's neighbors wanted to sell. We ended buying the house and property and now have plenty of room for our families to gather, and, plenty of room to share when we can't use it.

We have a large, secluded lot. It has two acres of mowed, grassy yard space. The house and property are on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. The sunsets are spectacular and the lake is your western horizon. We try to keep the house as comfortable and carefree as possible. That's the way we like it when we go on vacation.
