Wow! Where do I start? My uncle was one of the original High Hammock Villa owners some 40 years ago on Seabrook, so we have been able to spend some weekends on the island over the years. However, this is the first time that we rented a villa and spent an entire week on vacation there. What did we enjoy most? For the guys – FISHING. For the girls – Long walks on the North Beach and shopping in Charleston. The villa was in a great location and had a beautiful view of the pond and golf course. Enjoyed watching all the golfers and wildlife from the deck. Pond is full of largemouth bass, just be weary of the gators. Can’t give away red fish secrets but we had a great time. Some snapshots are below. Just a beautiful place and a great relaxing vacation. Thanks! PS – By the way, we did have an issue with the air condition, but contacted Nancy and it was address very promptly. (Thanks Nancy!)
Enjoyed the hospitality of this villa in August. Fantastic view of the golf course from the deck and a relaxing way to spend an evening while viewing the wildlife and the entire scenic vista. Activities abound with the ocean nearby, great golf on Seabrook as well as at Kiawah, bike and horseback riding coupled with tasty local eating. Villa accommodations are superb and with a gourmet market within a short driving distance; you can enjoy good fresh food and produce, if you don't wish to dine out. This was one of the best destinations we have had the opportunity to enjoy. It was an outstanding week!
I’ve been to a lot of places in this world, and in my opinion, few of them can compare to Seabrook Island. This house was the perfect base camp for our adventures, and haven to return to at night. The first night we were there, we experienced a gorgeous full moon from the master bedroom deck. On the horizon we could see thunderstorms that were created from the heat and humidity of the day. It was a beautiful sight to behold. Add to that the chorus of “chirping” frogs in the water just behind the house, and it was downright magical!
This house can easily sleep six, and maybe one more if they were willing to sleep on the couch. The kids loved the Xbox during the times they were actually inside, and not out swimming, bicycle riding, or visiting other spots on the island. The kitchen was clean, modern, and spacious. Nothing says summer like grilling out, and we were able to do that as well. I believe the master bedroom had just been painted (loved the colors). In short, this house is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. It is in a great neighborhood, and is fairly close to the beach. The people there were very hospitable as well. I could not have asked for a better vacation experience.
