Experience timeless Charleston elegance in this private historic residence tucked into one of downtown’s most desirable neighborhoods. Set on a prestigious Broad Street block in Charleston’s Historic District, this is the kind of stay guests hope to find but rarely do—walkable to everything, peaceful at night, and filled with the charm and scale that make Charleston special.
Step outside and you’re moments from lower King Street, the French Quarter, Colonial Lake, and The Battery. Yet unlike many downtown stays, this home sits in a true historic residential neighborhood—not in one of the denser short-term rental corridors where whole blocks can feel more like hotel districts. Here, you’ll return each evening to leafy streets, classic Charleston homes, and a calm residential setting.
Inside, your private 1,000 sq. ft. residence feels like a boutique hotel suite tucked inside an 1850s home. Original 12-ft ceilings, polished wood floors, tall sash windows, and heritage details create a refined, quietly luxurious backdrop, while thoughtful modern updates make everything feel effortless. Guests often tell us the home feels much larger than expected—something that’s increasingly rare in Charleston’s historic district.
One feature guests consistently tell us they love: the parking. Few Airbnbs in downtown Charleston offer free, private off-street parking directly at the home. Not a garage several blocks away. Not a parking permit. Not a shared lot. Your own dedicated private parking space connected directly to the property—an increasingly rare luxury in this part of the city. If you’ve visited Charleston before, you already know what a difference that can make.

Adorable old home! The host was very resonsive and goes the extra mile with little conveniences. We absolutely loved the location. Very close to everything, but on a quiet street just off the beaten path. We will definitely go back!
Excellent place to stay-comfortable, functional, clean, roomy, and great location! Plus a place to park right next to the entrance. Great restaurants within short walking distance. Timely response from the host. Beautiful neighborhood
The location of this house was great. We walked most everywhere in town, it is about a 1/4 mile away from some of the best restaurants and just a bit more to tours of all kinds. It saved us hundreds in parking fees. The house is well appointed and everything worked well. I would highly reccomend it.
My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary in Charleston and this was the PERFECT place for us. It was within walking distance to King Street and all the shops and restaurants. The apartment was spacious and clean and the bed was SO comfortable. Tim provided so many lovely extras that made the trip special. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone we know traveling to Charleston!
Tim's place was the perfect spot to spend a long weekend getaway exploring Charleston. It is cozy, clean, and the furniture was very comfortable. We loved that the home was well appointed and modernized but maintained a lot of the historic details and charm. The neighborhood is safe and extremely walkable - the only time my husband and I needed to get into a vehicle was to and from the airport. We appreciated all of Tim's recommendations and insights, he a thoughtful host and quick to respond. We hope to be back sometime soon, we have many bookmarked places still to see!
Staying at Tim’s place was a dream. It’s nestled in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood in Charleston’s historic district, away from the busy tourist areas. The house is a charming, historical gem with special touches that made our stay unforgettable. Tim really thought of everything—snacks, wine, comfy pillows, and even local tips. It felt like a home away from home. Can’t recommend it enough for a peaceful yet central stay!
What a beautiful home in a beautiful location! Everything from the original booking, recommendations, and house were perfect! There was no small detail unaccounted for! We loved the proximity of walking everywhere and enjoyed having a dedicated parking spot for when we went out of town. Lots of amenities (snacks, k cups, creamer, sugar, phone chargers, shampoo/conditioner, etc!). Bonus: the bed was super comfy!! Perfect place for a couples getaway!
This is a perfect home-base for a couple to explore Charleston. This was our first trip to the city and we really enjoyed it. The property is lovely - a true historic home that has been restored very nicely and was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. The living room is comfortable and a great place to recharge after sight-seeing. The bedroom is very well appointed - excellent bedding and LOTS of pillows. The bathroom is small but adequate and has a wonderful shower. The quirks are interesting - step down from both the bathroom and kitchen are something you need to keep in mind - but necessary to accommodate plumbing in a very old house. The front terrace and fountain are a perfect place to have a glass of wine - or coffee in the morning. And the off-street parking is a HUGE plus. Park your car and walk or calling Uber is the best bet. The location was excellent - we were able to walk to the Queen Street Grocery and Cafe, the Charleston Market, Gaulart & Maliclet Cafe (Fast & French), Burbage's Grocery and all the shopping along King Street as well as the beautiful Colonial Lake (about a block away). Our host was easily available but we had no issues at all. Thank you for sharing your wonderful spot.

About the host
Hosted by Tim Waldron
We’ve thoughtfully designed this home to offer the kind of Charleston stay we would want ourselves—beautiful, comfortable, walkable, and easy. We value privacy, comfort, and the little details that make a trip feel special. While guests enjoy a fully private stay, we’re nearby and responsive if anything is needed. Our goal is simple: help you experience Charleston with ease and feel completely at home while you’re here.
Why they chose this property
This is one of the most special parts of Charleston because it offers something that’s becoming harder to find: a true historic residential neighborhood in the heart of downtown. You’re surrounded by grand historic homes, quiet leafy streets, church steeples, hidden gardens, and the kind of Charleston beauty people imagine when they visit.
What we love most is the balance. You can walk to some of Charleston’s best restaurants, galleries, shopping, Colonial Lake, The Battery, and the French Quarter—then come home to a peaceful block that feels calm and residential rather than busy or commercial.
Mornings here are especially beautiful, whether it’s a walk beneath the oaks, coffee in the courtyard, or heading toward the waterfront as the city wakes up. In the evening, after dinner on lower King or a sunset walk along the Battery, it’s a quiet and elegant part of Charleston to come home to.
What makes this property unique
What makes this home special is that it offers a combination that’s genuinely rare in downtown Charleston: historic elegance, a peaceful residential setting, generous space, true walkability, and one practical feature many guests quickly come to appreciate—private parking.
Just as rare is the setting itself. This home sits in one of Charleston’s most historic and prestigious residential neighborhoods, where very few licensed short-term rentals exist. Unlike some downtown areas that feel more commercial or tourist-heavy, this block still feels like true residential Charleston—quiet, elegant, and surrounded by classic historic homes.
Few Airbnbs in downtown Charleston offer free, dedicated private off-street parking directly at the home. Not a garage several blocks away, not a permit, and not a shared lot—your own private parking space connected directly to the property, which many guests tell us makes a meaningful difference when staying downtown.
Inside, guests enjoy a private 1,000 sq. ft. residence tucked inside an 1850s property, with soaring 12-ft ceilings, original architectural details, and a spacious footprint that feels much larger than many downtown stays.
It’s that combination of historic charm, generous space, peaceful residential surroundings, true walkability, and rare private parking that makes this home stand out in downtown Charleston.
