Everlasting memories are just one of the many gifts that will be provided to you and your family while vacationing at 808 Ocean Boulevard.

The Isle of Palms has been a source of amazing family memories since the early 1900’s. Just across from 808 Ocean Boulevard you will find the first house built on the Isle of Palms in 1898 at 807 Ocean Blvd. Only accessible by ferry, the Isle of Palms thrived though the beginning of the 1930’s as the Coney Island of the South. Just down the beach from 808 Ocean Boulevard in 1912 stood a spacious pavilion, dance hall and Ferris wheel that was brought to the Island from the Chicago World’s Fair. In the 1950’s the Isle of Palms was at the center of the start of Carolina Beach Music. Close to 808 Ocean Boulevard stood the famous Surf Deck where groups like The Tamms, The Drifters and James Brown regularly performed. Where the foot prints of the Ferris Wheel, Pavilion and the Surf Deck have washed away, the memories created by them will live on forever as will your memories while vacationing at 808 Ocean Boulevard.

808 Ocean Boulevard is a very unique home. From the architecture to the wonderful appointments, there are very few properties on the Island that can equal this amazing property.

808 Ocean is located oceanfront on the Southern side of the Isle of Palms, and a short bicycle ride from the commercial district known as Front Beach. One of the many great features of the home is the three oceanfront decks. The second level deck also features an oceanfront screened porch. From these decks your family will be able to enjoy beautiful views of the swimming pool, beach and ocean while rocking in a chair or simply relaxing in the outdoor living room on the screen porch. The private swimming pool will be the sight of many of your family memories. Surrounded by a large pool deck featuring comfortable seating, you will find a refreshing pool. A private walkway to the beach, will allow your family to quickly access the ocean. The beach on the southern side of the Island is actually growing, so finding plenty of room on the sand to set up for the day is never a problem. 808 Ocean also features a gas grill and six beach bicycles for your family to enjoy.

The interior of 808 Ocean is perfect for large families or couples traveling to the beach. Each of the six bedrooms features king size beds. Having a king bed in every bedroom is very unique, and it is doubtful any other home on the Island has a similar offering. New mattresses, bedding and flat screen televisions were purchased in 2011 throughout the house. In addition to having a king bed in each bedroom, 808 Ocean has six full private bathrooms. In supplement the six full bathrooms, this home features three half bathrooms, one just off each living room and pool area. The master bedroom is located on the third level. Known as the Eagles Nest, this bedroom offers incredible views of the Atlantic and an enormous private bathroom with a whirlpool bathtub and separate shower.

In addition to the fantastic bedding options, 808 Ocean offers plenty of comfortable seating arrangements. Featuring two living rooms, one on the first and second levels, this great house can easily support different groups getting together to enjoy the football game, Disney Channel, or a game of cards. Each living room also features a large flat screen television. The kitchen and dining room will allow your entire family to come together and enjoy dinners as the sound of the ocean is in the background.

Finally, 808 Ocean Boulevard is only 11 miles from downtown Charleston. It is so convenient to drive downtown, and enjoy what makes the Low Country so much more special than any other coastal community on the East coast. From reliving epic victories during the Revolutionary War or the War Between the States to the enjoyment one of the countless amazing restaurants, everyone in your family will enjoy Historic Charleston.

Where your footprints in front of 808 Ocean Boulevard might wash away at the turning of the tide, your memories of vacation at this wonderful home will stay with you and your family for a lifetime.

Wonderful location to make memories

  • 4 of 5

Our family stayed a week during the eclipse. The rental place was easy to communicate with and the house was beautiful. Lots of space.

Great Place at the Beach!

  • 5 of 5

Terrific house with king-sized beds all around! Nice pool and oh so close to the beach! On the less crowded southern end of the Isle of Palms close to Sullivan's Island and Mount Pleasant. Very convenient!

House not in good shape. Difficult to use with kids due to lack of traditional stairs to pool and be

  • 2 of 5

On our arrival the 15 year old sub-zero refrigerator was not working. I immediately called the rental company when they told me to make sure that I don't put a lot of items into the refrigerator. They stated that the housekeepers clean it between guests and it needs to get cold again. Well, it never did and we had to bring everything down to the pool level refrigerator, which meant going down a treacherous spiral staircase 3 levels to the beach level. Every time we needed anything meant going down there to carry it up to the kitchen. Of course I called the rental company back, only to finally get a repairman out on Monday, 2 days into our rental. He spent 2 hours fixing the refrigerator, which only got us through our week by carefully not putting too much into it. I'm confident it will happen again to the next group checking in to the property. Just remember, the elevator is slow and only 1 or 2 adults can take it at a time.

We also had several other issues, the umbrella stand next to the pool could not support the umbrella, it fell over and almost knocked out one of the children. 2 of the family room chair legs were not attached and broke the first time my pregnant daughter-in-law sat on them. (BTW-she weighs about 115 pounds!) None of the TV remote batteries worked and many were missing the backs. The hot tub at the pool never got warm or hot, even though the house advertised it was included in the rental price. Again, after complaining to the rental company, they told us to keep the hot tub covered so it would heat up! Hmmm, that never worked. What's the point!? There was not a broom or floor sweeper to be found in the house to sweep anything up that was tracked into the house.....like sand...! The house was worn and tired. Not up to the expensive rental price.

But the worse part of this home was it's access to the pool level and beach. There is not an indoor staircase or a traditional staircase outside the home to get down to the beach/pool level. You either take a spiral metal stairway outside, which is difficult and scary, especially at night or if it's raining, or take the elevator, which is a trip in itself. I asked the rental company prior to renting about an additional stairway down to the beach, they told me there was an indoor stairway down.....not true!

This is not a family friendly home to rent, even though the beach location is wonderful. We had our 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren with us. I would not recommend this home.

Breathtaking and Immaculate

  • 5 of 5

This home is beautiful, up-to-date, very well decorated and our office plans on going there every year for our retreat. We've been for the last 2 years. We can walk to amazing restaurants. It has a beautiful pool and hot tub and only a few steps to the ocean. Truly a beautiful home.

Owner's Response: Thank you for writing us a 5 star review! We are glad your office was able to step away from work for a few days and enjoy your vacation in our home. Being within walking distance to some of the best restaurants of Isle of Palms is something we truly love about our house. We hope to see you back here again next summer for a third year.

Great Experience

  • 5 of 5

The house was amazing. Check in was easy and everything was very clean and orderly when we came in. The staff was also very quick to deliver a new propane tank for the grill when we called to let them know that we were out. This house was great for our group with several couples and also several singles, since each room has its own private bathroom. The location is great within walking distance of bars and restaurants. Check out was also painless. Overall an excellent experience with no complaints.

Winter getaway

  • 3 of 5

Our group of 5 couples rented this property for an annual Christmas trip. The spacious house and layout are very accommodating so you don't feel like your on top of one another. The décor is very nice and attractive. The kitchen is well stocked and the stove in the island is very accessible. They could use a new refrigerator (inside is rusting) and dishwasher (handle broke, dish rack won't side and door won't support full dish rack to unload). There is plenty of outside furniture around the property. However, we had one major concern in that the house could not be secured . . . ie. bedroom windows accessible from outside were not able to be locked, dining room windows could not be opened (they fall out of tracks), and the basement doors are not able to be locked. The rental company was contacted about this and a minor issue which was quickly resolved, however the security issues were not a "quick fix".
