After vacationing in Crested Butte for the last seven years, we felt is was time to become a part of this community. We recently purchased this condo because of the beautiful scenery year round. Every season beats our expectations. The skiing is amazing, the people are friendly and helpful and we truly believe it is 'The last great ski town.'
shay purchased this Condo in 2014
Why shay chose Mount Crested Butte
We have continued to return to Crested Butte as it always impresses. The area offers great skiing with reliable snow every year. Summertime in Crested Butte is even better with outstanding mountain biking, hiking and fishing. The town's rustic charm is captivating and lives up to it's titles as the 'last great ski town in Colorado' and the 'Wildflower Capital of Colorado.'
What makes this Condo unique
We chose unit #208 at Black Bear Lodge because of the close proximity to the lifts, the split floor plan on the corner (no neighbors on one side or above) and because the light was absolutely beautiful. The unit doesn't feel cramped or closed in at all and is very easy to maintain. We love to sit on the balcony and have our morning coffee. When we are ready to start our day, it is so easy to hop on the recreation trail that is right outside of the lodge or hit the slopes. Black Bear Lodge is beautiful AND easy....things need to be easy and fun when your on vacation. If not, it's not really an enjoyable vacation.

Great place, everything you could possibly need was there, great location
Love the condo, there was everything that you could possibly need already there. It was in a great location, close to everything ski related. Would stay again if the opportunity comes again.
Fun was had by all!
This is a great condo in a great location!
Great place to rent on the mountain!
The place has plenty of room for families and is very nicely appointed. It's about a 5 min walk to the West Wall and Peachtree lifts so not exactly ski in/out, but close enough for us. We'd rent again.
Black Bear Lodge
Great stay, all supplies provided, full kitchen, three bedroomes with one for kids. heated floors--warm and toasty.
Not what i would call ski in/ski out. More walk in/walkout but walf to the lift is shorter than the walk from the paid parking lot to the base lifts.
A warm inviting atmosphere
We have stayed three times(2x winter and 1x summer) and never been disappointed. Steps to slopes makes late starts and lunch at the condo possible. Thank you...we always hope to come back to crested butte and this is where we want to stay
Well appointed condo with great open floor plan
Our extended family group of five spent three nights at this condo July 2017. It was great having three bedrooms and baths. My husband and I had the master upstairs, my parents had the queen room with private bath on the main level (no views in bedroom - window to parking garage), and DS (21) had the bunk room with adjoining bath also available from the common area. They layout of the LR/dining, and kitchen (open) and lots of windows with balcony too and high ceiling was great for all being together and visiting. This area is why we picked this condo over other comparable units we saw on VRBO, and we were not disappointed. This area was a total delight and perfect for our group. The condo is listed as only being a little over 1000 square feet, but seemed much larger due to the well designed open floor plan. There is a balcony off the master too.
Other pluses: The condo is close to a shuttle stop, and the condo was well appointed with supplies, kitchen accessories, etc. meaning no shopping or need to bring paper towels, trash bags, detergent dryer sheet, and food staples. Check what is already here before you go grocery shopping.
Possible summer negative: No central air (ample ceiling fans however and windows or balcony that open with screens from bedrooms meaning all were comfortable, but not quite as comfortable as we would be with central air).
All and all we really liked this condo and I have to give it a 5 out of 5 rating.
Mt. Crested Butte has a family-friendly park at the base area with ice skating and tubing in the winter. During the summer months, visitors can climb the rock wall, jump on the bungee trampoline and play miniature golf. There is a tree line zipline that operates year round. Snow shoe, cross country skiing, biking and hiking trails begin right outside the doors of Black Bear Lodge.
