River's Edge is the perfect house for couples or small families looking for a quiet getaway. There is plenty to do at the cabin or within a 15 minute drive. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms (2 full, 1 queen, 1 full), 2 full baths, gas grill, and a covered deck overlooking the river. There is a fire pit overlooking the river for quiet evening campfires. A canoe, 2 kayaks, and tubes are also available for fun in the river. We prefer no more than 4 responsible adults or a family of 6. Although for most guests it isn't an issue, please note that the yard does slope down to the river. The cabin is located 5 miles north of Luray and just a short drive to Shenandoah National Park and Andy Guest State Park.

About Jeff and Lori Perry
My husband I are both teachers who moved to Virginia from Maryland about 16 years ago.
Jeff and Lori Perry purchased this House in 2000
Why Jeff and Lori Perry chose Rileyville
We love the quiet and beauty of the Shenandoah Valley. We were fortunate enough to find this property right on the river where we could build our own cabin. Nothing beats having the Shenandoah River right out your front door.
What makes this House unique
We can swim, fish, and canoe right from the house. Evening campfires overlooking the river are the perfect way to spend an evening after a day in the water. There is plenty to do without leaving the house.

My family had a great time staying at Rivers Edge! The place had everything you needed for a family gathering- from indoor games to outdoor games of corn hole and use of two kayaks on the river, well equipped kitchen for preparing family dinners, a comfy living room area, comfy beds, and a fantastic wrap around front porch with views of the river. What impressed our family the most was the cleanliness of the house and the hospitality of the hosts. You could not ask for better hosts! Thank you Lori for all your kindness and use of your lovely home! We can't wait to come back!
Thank you so much! We're glad you enjoyed your stay, and it was a pleasure to meet you. You were a great group, and you are welcome back anytime. Thank you for leaving the house in such excellent condition.
Long weekend for a family reunion
Very warm and charming cabin. Amazing sky at night. We would diffently stay again.
Beautiful house on the river
We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The use of the kayaks, canoes and tubes was a bonus! The river was great fun, and the mountain hikes were beautiful. This is a wonderful place to vacation.
We enjoyed meeting you and are glad you enjoyed your stay. You definitely took advantage of the many fun activities to do in the area. We appreciate you leaving the cabin in such excellent condition.
Great Private Property
We stayed at River's Edge for a guys golf weekend and loved everything about the property. Plenty of space to play games in the yard, BBQ for dinner and relax on the porch in the evening. We couldn't have been happier with the property, thanks Jeff & Lori for allowing us to stay!
Property was easy to get to, tucked away from the noise of traffic, and very nice. We saw squirrels, rabbits and birds. The house had comfortable beds and plenty of accommodations. I was disappointed that the river was too high to go into safely, but it was of no reflection of the property itself, just bad timing. We toured the local restaurants and found nothing but delicious food. The owners were easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions we had. We will definitely be coming back!
We had a great time. I love the area and the relaxing atmosphere. Great family place.
We were pleasantly surprised that the cabin was well stocked with basic kitchen needs, including spices and flour. The house and property were clean and well maintained. The large yard was great for our boys. We didn't end up using the river or canoes. Getting into town took very little time which was a pleasant surprise. The people we met were very nice. If you love the mountains this is a great place.
Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. We're glad you enjoyed the area and the cabin. Unfortunately the river condition wasn't the best due to the recent rains. We appreciate how well you left the cabin.
Thanks for staying!
