Space 1,600 sq ft
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms Cabin With River And Mountain Views On Oversized Lot.

This beautiful cabin is calling all nature lovers. Sitting on the bank of the Shenandoah River, you will enjoy hearing the sound of the majestic water roll by throughout the day and evening as you partake in various outdoor activities or simply relax and take in the scenery from the large back deck of the cabin. The cabin is nicely appointed with updates to the kitchen and both bathrooms. Two rooms have queen beds and one bedroom has two full size beds. The large, open family room with river rock stone fireplace (gas) makes for a warm and enjoyable entertainment setting. There is an outdoor pit by the river for cozy "campfires" -- and an outdoor gas grill for cooking.

The cabin has been well equipped with all the household necessities -- you just need to remember to pack your own bedroom linens and towels to use (2 Queen and 2 Full). There is a washer/dryer at the cabin.

The town of Luray is less than five miles from the cabin. Luray offers shopping, dining, and entertainment options for the entire family. Luray Caverns is one of the largest and most popular attractions in the Eastern United States -- and, of course, it is hard to beat the Shenandoah Skyline Drive in the Fall. There are a number of local outdoor companies that provide kayak, canoeing, tubing, horseback riding, and many other options. Two ski resorts are within one hour of the cabin.

The cabin really is a little oasis away from the hustle-and-bustle of modern life. We hope you might consider visiting us -- and we guarantee you will find something you will enjoy!

Great river getaway

We had a fun time tubing and hiking and just relaxing. Nice views of stars and planets, as well as a great spot for a riverside campfire!

Perfect for our family of 4!

  • 4 of 5

After spending the first part of our vacation in DC, this was the perfect spot to relax for a few days. Beautiful location on the river. Even though it rained most of the time we were there, and our kids did not get to spend as much time on the river as they hoped, we still enjoyed the peacefulness of the location. Well stocked kitchen! Would definitely return!

Owner's Response: This has definitely been a rainy summer and has affected everyone's ability to fully use the river. We're glad you were still able to enjoy your stay.

We loved this place very much, very nice roomy and clean you have everything you need, there is a gas station about two miles from the house and before Luray ,they have everything you need in case you forgot something.

My only problem was the water pressure in the shower ,it was too low that you don’t want to use it at all other wise We Loved it .

What a relaxing view

  • 5 of 5

We spent several days in this wonderful cabin (husband and I, daughter and two granddaughters). The weather was perfect (icing on the cake) and the river was very high and swift, but the cabin was beautiful and we did breakfast on the deck every morning. We didn't really do much cooking, but we certainly could have with such a well equipped kitchen. The girls loved the big yard and we all were able to relax in this very peaceful location. The flies were bad, but that's just part of life. The girls were looking forward to the hammock, but it wasn't available when we were there. Would love to return again when we have even more time.

Owner's Response: Yes, the hammock needed to be replaced, and it took a couple of weeks for the new one to arrive. Sorry about that. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.

Disappointed that the river was flooded the whole time we were there but realize that’s not anyone’s fault. Caught some catfish from shore but not ideal spot as bank not cleared and trees in the way. House was good with decent WiFi and well stocked kitchen. Be prepared to clean on departure. Town of Luray about 10 minutes away.

Owner's Response: Yes, it's been a rainy summer. My family was visiting us that same weekend and were also unable to enjoy river activities. They hiked in the park and went to Lake Arrowhead instead. Although you can catch a few fish from the shore, the fishing is best if you wade out to the deeper pools, which obviously wasn't possible due to the high water. We do appreciate guests who attempt to clean up after themselves before they leave, but it is not required. Thank you for your feedback.
