Beautiful view

  • 4 of 5

There are pros and cons to this property.

The pros: The view is fabulous! As you can see from the picture there is a lovely pool overlooking the coffee plantation and ocean off in the background. There is also a hot tub available. The house is very spacious. There was more than enough room for my family of four. The porch also has a great view. They provide delicious Heavenly Hawaiian Coffee for your stay. Chase and Ray were very friendly, and we enjoyed learning more about coffee growing on our tour. There are fruits growing around the house. We picked oranges, lemons, guava and macadamia nuts. There was an avocado and apple banana tree, but they were not ripe yet. There is a washer and dryer which came in handy. There is no air conditioning, but we were always comfortable. They have fans available if needed.

The cons: The house could use some updates/repairs. Sliding screen doors come off track easily and lights need replacing/fixing. We had an unopened protein bar on the kitchen counter the first night and woke up to see that something had gotten into it and nibbled on it. I would recommend keeping all food in the refrigerator or microwave. The house is musty, mainly in the kitchen. The property is located up on the mountain which stays pretty damp. It feels like a rainforest which makes for the great view. but with cloud cover most of the time, the pool stays on the cool side. There are tours going every hour during the day next to the pool, but you have it to yourself at night after the last tour ends at 5:00. It is great to swim and watch the sunset.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The property is unique and fun, but could be improved with a little updating and repairs, especially in the kitchen.

Nice Change of Pace

  • 5 of 5

We took a couple days away from the beach to stay on the hill that is Heavenly Hawaiian. There during July, we experienced nightly rains in the evenings that, along with the tropical bird calls, made for a perfect rain forest experience. Fair to say we missed air conditioning during this humid time but appreciated the washer/dryer and full set up of kitchen and bathroom supplies. Best of all, the coffee tastes even better than it smells. Thanks to Chase, Bill, and Adam for their hospitality.

Lovely place with stunning view

  • 4 of 5

We loved staying on the coffee farm. Everybody was very friendly and we enjoyed the tour a lot. The view from this place is stunning and having breakfast at the porch was great. Although the house needs some renovation, especially in the kitchen area.

Overall we had a fabulous time and would love to come back one time.

Beautiful home base for our adventures in Kona

  • 5 of 5

We were four adults, visiting from Australia, travelling around the Hawaiian islands and spent two nights at this beautiful home. Great location, close to Kona and Captain Cook areas, surrounded by nature and with stunning views of the ocean. The house has everything you could need and was very comfortable for four adults to relax, have space and enjoy the large balcony, lounge space, pool or hot tub! We were very grateful to Chase for his hints and tips and loved the kind delivery of the delicious coffee, made on site. We did struggle with figuring out the showers. For anyone not familiar, it proved quite a challenging intelligence test early in the morning, but easy when you know how (pull the underside of the foot shower tap to activate the switch to the main shower tap). Great home, comfortable, spacious and exactly as the photos show. Thank you!

Pool with a view - our favorite spot each morning

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect retreat for us as we explored the west side of the island. Each morning, we relaxed by the pool until we felt ready to take on another adventure. I would often read as my son and husband played in the pool. Sometimes we would go for a little hike around the property or pick a snack from one of the many fruit trees. By the time things started to get going at the coffee plantation, we were usually packing up and getting ready to head out. There were many beaches to explore - two step, the captain cook monument, and many others north of Kona. Each night we would come back, make dinner and sit outside watching the sunset, hearing the frogs chirp. The house was very spacious and comfortable. Our son loved the geckos. He had names for the ones we saw every day. I felt like we had a small bit of paradise while we stayed here. A real vacation. Thank you to our host Bill who taught us a lot about coffee, gave us many great recommendations, and made us feel right at home. One stop that he recommended was the Kula Kai Cave tour a couple hours to the south. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
