Why Ed chose Muskegon

The wonderful sandy beaches and the friendly community. Boat traffic through the channel is so entertaining and like watching a great parade during the day

What makes this house unique

The smell of fresh water breezes, the boat traffic on the channel while sipping morning coffee, the fog horn in the distance on low visibility days, and seeing the joy of all those in the area knowing they are in a very special part of the world. Peaceful.

We had a wonderful stay! The property was on a perfect location between two lakes. gorgeous!!!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our group. We had three families and we had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy ourselves as an individual family or as a group. The house had everything we could have possibly needed. It was in a beautiful location where we could stay and fish or just watch the boats come in and out or we could go to either the Lake Michigan beach which was amazing or a smaller lake Muskegon beach which was around the corner. Overall it was a fantastic house!!

Absolutely beautiful.

  • 5 of 5

The pics on this website do not do this house justice. It's absolutely beautiful. There were 10 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of room. The house is definitely

Fully Stocked. It has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Pretty views from the backyard. You can fish right off the deck. Then beach is very close and very clean. We all had the best time. We are looking forward to coming back next year. Ed was wonderful to deal with.

Perfect Cottage for large family

  • 5 of 5

We had seven adults plus a 2 & 4 year old and a toddler. We all felt very comfortable. The ground floor has two bedrooms, a kitchen, leading area, living room and bath and a walk out to a covered patio. Second floor has two bed rooms, large living room eat in kitchen and a bath, with a large deck overlooking the channel. The third floor has a bath and bedroom. The place was fully furnished and more than enough seating inside or on the patio, the deck or the boat dock / deck on the channel. A short walk to one of the nicest beaches on Lake Michigan or a small beach on Lake Muskegon. The Change connects the two lakes and there is a small inlet inside the channel to pull in your boat. Ducks, turtles, birds and a muskrat all played in the inlet. Short walk to the two beaches, a local marina and a dockside restaurant (Dockers), a submarine museum and a retired Coast Guard Cutter. There is another restaurant on the beach on Lake Michigan. Lake Muskegon is also connected to Bear Lake so you can easily boat on three different lakes in a single day. Across the channel you have access two beaches on Lake Michigan and Muskegon as well as sand dunes to explore. If you don't have a boat it is an easy 20 minute ride through North Muskegon. Downtown Muskegon is coming alive with restaurants and breweries. On an overcast day, we took the kids to a downtown children museum while my wife saw great photo exhibit by Edward Schiller nearby. We found plenty to do on land and sea and sat around the decks and fire pit at night. Would highly recommend. Ed was a great host and very helpful.

Great family time together. Family from N.C., GA, & MI spent a week on this wonderful property.

  • 5 of 5

This house was very well stocked with all of the things we needed. The one thing we didn't find were marshmallow skewers. I texted Ed the property manager and he quickly brought some. We sat on the front lawn and watched the boats/ships going in and out of Lake Michigan. We were able the dock our rented pontoon boat in front of the house. And also my bass boat I brought with me from GA. Boat access was a little problem, but we got it done.

We went to "Silver Lake Dunebuggies" to ride dunebuggies and had a blast. My son-in-law loves to grill, so he did most of the outdoor cooking. We ate at Dockers and The Lake House (for my daughters 31st b-day). The Lake House was very good along with great service and view.

I would love to stay here again.

Owner's Response: We have a lot of folks the last few years coming to stay with us instead to an ocean vacation location. I think the word is out. Our mild summer temps, and sea breezes make us a great alternate destination to the ocean. See you again.

Perfect for a Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was a very comfortable and well stocked home for our extended family. Our young son really enjoyed his downstairs kid's room and there was plenty of room for 7 adults. The main level kitchen is beautiful and well stocked and the open floor-plan helped to make the home never feel crowded. We love all of the things that Muskegon and western Michigan have to offer, and hope to visit again soon.
