Welcome to Mahina Surf and to OCEANFRONT Unit #128! This unit is truly exceptional! Being the end lower unit, you walk out of the living room onto the lanai and you are ten steps from the ocean. All of the windows in this unit face the ocean (one of only two lower oceanfront units in the complex), offering breathtaking views of the islands of Lanai and Molokai. We have a scenic rocky shore in front of our unit great for tide pooling, turtle watching, snorkeling, surfing, and paddle boarding. Sandy beaches and parks are within five minutes walking. Beautiful oceanfront sunrises and sunsets are yours to enjoy while having a meal on the lanai or inside at the dining table.
We have been owners at the Mahina Surf for twenty-three years. Each unit is individually owned and furnished.
Our unit is furnished “soft tropical”. It is best for a couple. Amenities include; a king size bed, comfortable couch and recliner chair, up to date kitchen needs (we like to cook), flat screen TV, free wi-fi, beach chairs and coolers, and a library with Hawaiian maps and books.
Truly, this is a magical place. Mahina Surf is “Maui No Ka Oi”,
(Maui the best)!
We are from San Francisco, California. Looking to vacation in the mid 1980's we found the Mahina Surf advertised as Maui's Best Kept Secret in a California AAA Guide book. We gave it a try! And, we kept coming back bringing family and friends.
In 1991 we purchased a unit. Then, in 1996 we purchased Unit 128 (oceanfront end lower unit) and sold our first unit. In 2000 we completely remodeled Unit 128. Over the years we have updated everything as needed.
Tammy purchased this condo in 1996
We take pride in caring for our unit. Here are some of the reasons we keep returning to Unit 128.
Enjoy morning breakfast on your lanai (covered porch) with island views of Molokai and Lanai, turtles, canoes, surfers, snorkeling, curious birds, whales and dolphins (in season). When you return from your days adventure, a nap or swim refreshes you. Later, catch the evening sunset sitting on your lanai with your favorite beverage and snacks, and play a game of cards or dominoes! Then head to the BBQ (oceanfront, just steps away) to cook, meet guests, share recipes and your Maui adventures. Later, be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the surf, gentle trade winds, and floral scents from the garden.
There is a lot to see and do on Maui. Just a ten minute drive to Lahaina, Kapalua, or Kaanapali; restaurants, groceries, shopping, golf and world class beaches. You can walk to parks, restaurants, beaches, farmers market, health food or grocery store.
Then, there is the rest of the island left to explore. We like to venture to Hana; explore the Haleakala Volcano; and visit Makawao the upcountry artsy cowboy town. A great day trip is taking the morning ferry from Lahaina to the island of Lanai, have lunch at The Lodge at Koele, then explore Lanai town and walk from the Manele Bay Hotel along the beach back to the ferry. Maui offers something for everyone!
It is in the spirit of Aloha that we welcome you to our island home Unit 128.
We hope you will have happy memories here and that you too will become return guests like us!
