Fantastic place, wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was amazing. Plenty of room for everyone to hang out together or have some quit down time. The property owners were very nice and made themselves available for any questions we had. We are all looking forward to our next stay.

Has potential.

We have been in the hospitality business for 40+ years, having worked in the Aspen area, and owned and operated a B&B and VRBO in Glenwood Springs. We were in the Colorado Springs area for a family reunion and rented two homes for our large gathering. This property needs major housekeeping and maintenance attention. Counters and floors were not attended to, as well as other things, such as, mouse droppings in cabinets, coffee grounds remained in the pot, and full dishwasher. A clean property is really a basic expectation for guests. Dark dingy rooms could have been bright, welcoming, and cheerful with an inexpensive coat of paint. We did not mind comfy lodge-y, furnishings as they fit in well with the style of the home.

Also, because of chemical allergies, guests expect an unscented linen detergent, so they can sleep, and so their skin and clothes do not pick up the chemical smell. We love the clean fresh scent of NATURAL mountain air!

We did get a chance to speak to one of the owners, and he seemed receptive to our concerns.

Future reviews will decide whether our conversation mattered.

Owner's Response: This is the most disingenuous review we've ever had. Yes, I got their lecture about how many years they had been in the hospitality business, and how we're using the wrong detergent, eventhough we have never had any complaints (besides them) in 20 years. I had the pleasure of meeting them because they checked out late and still left the cabin dirtier then the average group. Seems the entire family has "chemical allergies" yet all the flowers blooming and pollen in the mountain air doesn't seem to bother them. Ok. Second, to be so concerned about cleanliness, they left the home quite dirty, and there is nothing "dark and dingy" about the place unless you don't open the blinds. Every room in the place has huge windows, many with mountain views. Finally, he claimed on the way out, to have found something in the cabinet below the sink where we store cleaning supplies. Not sure what he was looking for, but to say there were mouse dropping in the "cabinets" is very misleading to say the least. I would not recommend renting to these people. I guess you can't please everyone but we try.

Women on Wheels 2017

Poor air conditioning. Each BR had its own fan, so nights were enjoyable, but days were warm throughout the house. Tricky driveway, but that's my fault for not asking about it before I booked the property. Hot tub was a nice plus. Fire pit was a great 'congregator'. Extras left from previous guests added to less we had to buy at the grocery store (i.e. salt & pepper, coffee filters, sugar packets, ketchup & mustard). Plenty of bedding and bath towels. Gorgeous view of the Rockies from the rear patio. You're right there when you rent this property. Owner came over twice to make sure we were doing things right and that HE was doing things right. And that's what the owners SHOULD do. I recommend this property for groups larger than 6. Plenty of room to live and plenty of room to park.

Comfortable Home with Amazing Views!!

  • 5 of 5

Was lucky enough to stay at the Bike Lodge for a few months during the winter. I can't say enough good things about this house, its location, or its owners. The views are breathtaking and we had more than a few deer and squirrel sightings. The hot tub and the fire pit were great for relaxing evenings and the house itself is furnished with everything you would need. There is a park with a playground at the end of the drive and Ivywild School is a short stroll down the street. We didn't want to leave......ever. Highly recommended for groups/families or just a weekend getaway.

Perfectly suited to the needs of our group

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 2 adults and 12 teenagers from a school group. We were drawn to this rental due to it having two kitchens and our group was basically learning cooking techniques and preparing elaborate meals every day. Both kitchens were gorgeous and well equipped, with plenty of room for food prep and for a group to gather around. The view was beautiful and the location very convenient to grocery stores, downtown, and I-25. The lower level in particular had flexible sleeping arrangements. The owners were readily available and responsive. I would love to go back with another group some day.

mountain view home

  • 4 of 5

my extended family stayed in this home for a week to celebrate my daughter's graduating from high school. There were 13 of us. The home was very clean and lovely. More of a cabin feel to it. The views are outstanding and the location great. Our only issue was we had one very warm evening and no air conditioning. The rest of the week, the home was quite pleasant.
