Walk to restaurants, on the Strand! Upgraded condo on quiet side of Bay.

On the quiet Bay side! Sand and and surf all a few steps away. This is the perfect vacation retreat, located on beautiful and relaxing Sail Bay/Mission Bay just steps to the beach, walk to nearby restaurants, shopping and nightlife. Located directly on the boardwalk you can walk or bike easily to anywhere in Pacific Beach or Mission Beach. If you need bikes or water toys during your stay Bike rentals as well as water sport rentals are a 5 minute walk away.

Remodeled in 2016-2017 This is not your typical beachy chic rental. We take pride in our unit and have furnished it with modern comfortable furniture. We even have an office area in the condo so you just have to hook your laptop and can work from the beach, if you need to. The bathrooms and kitchen have all been recently redone. The quartz counter kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils, and accessories from blender, toaster, coffee maker, rice cooker, etc. enjoy grilling on the balcony while watching the jet ski rides or have a romantic candle light dinner on the balcony looking at the evening lights over the bay.

From yoga on paddle boards to sailing the bay...its all in your front yard. Walk two blocks to the surf on the beach side for amazing sunsets. Free wireless, full cable, three TVs and one DVD for when you don't want to be on the go.

A rarity on the beach, our unit has a designated parking place with plenty of extra storage for all of your beach toys. In addition, there is a large public parking lot a short distance away making it easy for extra cars or visitors. The unit does not have central air but in San Diego who needs it? Our really hot days occur in July and usually a few days in the month. For that unusual event we have two portable air cooling units. Each unit cools approximately 350 square feet.

We are currently Florida residents and beaches are our passion. Both of us grew up in Southern California and missed the beaches and the California vibe. Our daughter and her family live here and we decided that we would like to spend part of the year here enjoying the them and San Diego.

Why David Rose chose San Diego County

Mission Bay or as some call it Sail Bay is so much tranquil than the beach side. You can still be in the middle of all the action on the beach side which is a two minute walk, but if you want to get away from all the activity and find some peace and relaxation then the bay side is for you. The property has been renovated recently and is right on the boardwalk with unobstructed views of the bay. Another very important amenity is parking. One space right under the property is for tenants of the property only Parking spaces are very rare in the beach area. There is ample parking including overnight ( free ) at the Santa Clara lot a 5 minute walk away.

What makes this condo unique

We love the bay side of Mission Beach because it is more tranquil and quiet than the beach side. It is amazing to be able to enjoy both the beach and tranquility of the bay. Watch the bike riders on the boardwalk and the sail boats sail by as you seat in your bay front balcony. We hope you will love it as much as we do!

  • Each bedroom has its own bath for privacy. Both bathrooms were remodeled in September 2016 and 2017 with Granite Counters, new floors and decorative tiles also and new cabinets.

The bedroom has a modern dresser and 2 night stands with plenty of mirrors. Flat screen TV and cable included. Second bedroom has a bunk bed with a full mattress on the bottom and single on top. A rocker, flat screen TV with cable. In addition a roll-away bed is in the closet as well as a pack & play. New hardwood floors installed in all bedrooms late 2014. Kitchen remodeled in 2016 and bathrooms in 2017. Portable A/C units in both floors.

Notes:
This is a high end rental. Quality furnishing, linens/towels and appliances. The unit was recently painted and new flooring (hardwood floors and tile) installed in late 2014, the kitchen and bathrooms were remodeled in 2016 and 2017. This is not a run down beach rental. You will enjoy the quality finishes. Possibly the nicest appointed unit on the beach. Any doubts please read our reviews!

Beautiful bayfront unit with all the amenities you'll need for a wonderful week!

This is a newly renovated unit with a large beautifully well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable spacious living room with awesome bay views, and two nice sized bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs. A very well-kept and nicely laid out rental in the heart of Mission Bay. Highly recommend !!!

Wonderful Sail Bay rental

This second/third floor unit is comfortable, clean and well appointed. Cross breezes kept things cool even in a humid week. We appreciated the fantastic location, including proximity to the bay and ocean, and the great retail and restaurants nearby. Great for a family. Note that laundry is in the complex, not the unit.

Great location with views. Very nice upgraded unit.

Spent 2 weeks at this property and we had a great time. You really do not need a car. Many restaurants a short 3-10 minute walk and right on the strand. We loved getting up early and biking the strand from the bay to the ocean side. The unit is totally equipped so we did cook in a few nights. Loved to sit on the balcony to have our dinner and of course a bottle of wine and enjoy the bay views. The property has been upgraded true to the description on the web site. There were no surprises. David was very responsive to our requests and the check-in/out went very smoothly. We definitely will be back and stay here.

Fantastic Condo on the water. We loved the central location. Close to everything. Nicely updated!!!

We were impressed with the beautiful kitchen and view from both balconies. We cooked breakfast and lunch almost every day during the week long stay. The condo had everything we needed.

We have two girls under 10 years old and they thoroughly enjoyed the space as we did.

David was very responsive to our questions about the area and the condo. We will be staying in this unit again in the future. Thanks so much!!!

A great beach getaway, right in the middle of the action

We enjoyed our stay here--the condo itself is remodeled and very comfortable. We are a family of 3 with an 11-year old, and we loved sitting on the large sectional couch together watching some TV after a busy day on the beach and riding bikes on the ocean front walk. We didn't cook much since we wanted to experience some of the local restaurants, which are a short walk or drive away, but if we had wanted to, the kitchen is nicely equipped and large enough to actually cook a real meal in. The view from the decks (both living room and master bedroom) is spectacular. We were able to keep our bicycles in the garage, which has a code so you can easily get in and out, so that was a great convenience, and you can get almost anywhere on bikes in this area; in fact, it's easier because you don't have to find parking. We enjoyed walking just out of the alleyway to Better Buzz coffee in the mornings and having breakfast, and also went to The Mission for breakfast, also a two-minute walk away. As far as any cons, this area itself is not quiet--if I had a baby or young child that I needed to get to sleep early or get a nap, this would have not worked for us at all. The walls are paper-thin and you can hear everything not only within the condo but also neighboring condos, and our neighbors liked to blast music and had 3 very active children that raced around their condo, sounding like a herd of elephants. It wasn't a problem since our son now sleeps like a rock, but when he was a baby and toddler it would have disturbed his sleep, and the noise annoyed me when we were there. Luckily we were out a lot of the time so I didn't have to hear it too much. Also, the location of the condo itself is packed into a very tight space, which is typical of beach towns, but if you're looking for a more serene or spacious setting, or any privacy, this is not your place. Otherwise, a completely enjoyable trip and a lovely, clean condo with all the amenities.

The unit is conveniently located on Mission Bay minutes from the I5 and I8 freeways. You can walk to major restaurants like Saska's, Surf Rider Pizza (best pizza in San Diego) or The Mission Cafe in minutes. You will want to catch a bite and a sunset at World's Famous right on the beach, a 15 minute walk on the beach side boardwalk. Walk to Belmont park have a bite at the new remodeled restaurants and ride the famous wooden roller coaster. Sea World is a short drive or bike ride. San Diego has so much to offer and everything is close; visit the Gas Lamp District downtown, Old Town and great shopping in Mission Valley. La Jolla is a 4 mile drive away with incredible restaurants and dramatic views of the Pacific. A San Diego must see is the San Diego Zoo known as one of the best in the world also the San Diego Safari Park is world class. Or just relax and enjoy the beach!

For summer guests we have purchased two portable a/c units that will cool the property. Most San Diego homes specially by the coast do not have a/c but due to a demand from our customers we have done so. We have one parking space right under the condo but plenty of beach parking a short 3 minute walk away.
