Why Loleina chose Hawaiian Paradise Park

We chose beautiful Kaloli Point area because it's rural, safe, and friendly. Towns are easily accessible, but still has that small 'coastal community feel'.

What makes this cottage unique

It's always lush and green here! We are right in the middle of the best part of the the Windward side of the Island. Beautiful Hilo to the North and tropical Kalapana to the South. There is so much history here in the 'Aina (land).

Very nice and private!

  • 4 of 5

Positives: Wooded and private; clean and roomy; comfortable bed; well stocked kitchen; nice lanai; beach chairs and equipment provided; drinking water provided.

Negatives: No a/c... home got very warm during day. Fortunately, we were out during the days and it got cool at night. Open windows and fans provided comfortable evenings. Had to keep inside lights mostly off, as bugs were able to get in. Wash machine was dirty, so we elected not to use it. There is no dishwasher. TV channels are limited, however, we brought a laptop and hdmi cable to connect to tv and watched netflix. Sofa not very comfortable.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would come back again. There were numerous very colorful small lizards around. They are harmless and nice to look at. A couple were in the house but they are very afraid of people and run away quickly. They also eat bugs!

Quiet, Out of the way, Just what we needed.

  • 5 of 5

This house is a little out of the way but nice and quiet for a restful time. If you want a quiet relaxing time, this is the place. It's within driving distance to everything on the east side of the island. If you're looking for night life or resort living, then stay on the Kona side. But if you want to see God's beautiful creation and do what you want, when you want, then this is the place to be. All the comforts of home and the owner is very willing to answer any questions or offer suggestions. Find your way to the cliffs, they're beautiful. Thanks Loleina and Uilani for all your help and for a wonderful time. Maholo

A Very Nice Place to Stay in Paradise Park!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Loleina's cottage for a week and enjoyed it very much. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. The entire place is elevated so that you can park your car underneath, where there is also a clothesline and washer/dryer. It has high cathedral ceilings with exposed beams. There are ceiling fans in every room. It has a bright, open floor plan with plenty of windows. The master bedroom is large with comfortable king size bed. There is a large, screened lanai as well as a smaller one with hammock. The cottage is equipped with beach chairs, coolers, and plenty of boogie boards and snorkeling gear. We liked the fact that the owners live on the property, yet the cottage is far enough away to offer privacy. We found Loleina and her husband to be very friendly and accommodating. If there is anything you need, I'm sure they will be very responsive. The property is located in a quiet neighborhood where you will see neighbors jogging and going for walks. There is a table with chairs in both the dining room and the lanai. We would like to suggest the addition of a comfortable chair or two for guests to enjoy reading on the lanai.

Lovely Ohana and the owner is a great example of the aloha spirit!

  • 5 of 5

This is an adorable Ohana. We really enjoyed the screened back porch and the hammock porch.

We were there in July so it was very hot when we arrived but cooled down quickly as the outside temperature cooled. We also enjoyed birdwatching the Ohia trees.

The sweet owner came over in the morning and brought us a fresh pineapple for breakfast.

If you want a private country place close to Hilo this is the place for you!

Paradise Indeed!

  • 4 of 5

The best of this place was the sounds of nature! The coqui frogs sing their lullaby every night. then you can hear the rain... If you enjoy these sound, this a great place to stay. The place was clean and very pleasant. It can get a little hot in the afternoons, but once the sun goes down the place cools down. the best place for the afternoon and evening is the hammock in the lanai off the bedroom!
