Guestbook comments from the owner

I travel a lot: this host and her Bali studio couldn't have been any better. The location: set in the rolling hills outside of the town of Kapaa had mountain views and lush tropical vegetation surrounding the property....I particularly enjoyed fresh avocado right from the tree on the property... The host was accommodating and helped make our stay one of the best ever....location to town, beaches, shopping, and the rest of the island was quite easy....I would go back and recommend this

Relaxing, beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved this place! I would've stayed here the entire trip if I could have!

Relaxing environment. Kitchen had everything we needed. Netflix worked and was nice. The look and vibe of the place is serene. Someone was staying above us, but it was very quiet. The screened in den at the bottom of the property was pure relaxation! I wish more fruit trees were in season and a map of the in-season fruits would be nice. A little confusing to find at night.

Peaceful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Loved the Bali Studio! Quiet and clean, and a joy to relax on the lanai surrounded by tropical plants and trees and birds, even when it was raining. The humidity was extreme, not good for drying swimsuits and towels but great for skin and hair! Loved picking papayas and avocados. The kitchen was well-equipped with appliances, but had a strange imbalance of dishes for two people: 13 plates, 9 bowls but only 1 butter knife...and sadly no wine glasses to toast the beautiful setting with. Didn't want to leave; hope to stay here again someday.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us, we are so glad your enjoyed your stay! And thank you for bringing to our attention that we are missing some of the utensils and wine glasses. We do certainly provide those and over time they break and/or disappear :) Our local housekeeper is always available and happy to help with anything you need. Hope to have you back in the future, and please do let us know if you need anything and we will do our best to accommodate you ! Aloha Diana

Amazing place to relax and enjoy the jungle!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came here for a few days as the first stop on our honeymoon and we are SO glad we did! The living space was cozy and comfortable, with everything we needed. Even better, though, was the amazing lanai! We spent our mornings watching the sunrise and listening to the sounds of the jungle; we loved the sound of the rain! We also loved exploring the trails on the property and picking limes and avocados from the trees there. The location is a quick drive away from Kapa'a, which has several delicious restaurants (our favorite was Mermaid's Cafe) and fun activities nearby such as hiking and kayaking. Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us!

Lush vegetation

  • 3 of 5

Property was clean and comfortable but very dated. And small. Has a very nice lanai overlooking lush vegetation. The property manager is very nice and very good about any requests you may have. Has one queen bed and well equipped lichen area.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to write a review! We are very glad you enjoyed the screened-in lanai and lush vegetation around. Sorry that you felt the studio was dated. We are not sure why that is as the studio was recently remodeled; the decor is designed to be Earthy and Eastern in flavor, so perhaps it is not the style you prefer. We always strive to present a very accurate view of what we offer and all of the images on the listing are from the studio and up to date. All the best! Aloha!

Bali studio

  • 5 of 5

We chose Bali studio because it was away from all the noisy touristy areas and was self contained. Food is brutally expensive on the islands so having facilities (even basic ones) will save a fortune. The studio had everything we needed including a tv and netflix account aswell as a boogy board and beach towels. We aren't the hotel type of travelers and found Bali studio a perfect fit.

Diana the owner was also quick on the emails and a great host

Beautiful but tech challenged...

  • 3 of 5

Strengths: The facility had an incredible view and ambience as far as the landscaping, scenery and overall feel of the property. The lush, natural plant habitation had a remarkable presence during our week visit. I would give the view and feel of the cabin a 5-star rating.

Weaknesses: The kitchen had some issues with electrical needs. You could only run the microwave, single hot plate or toaster oven one at a time or the breaker would trip. It was a little frustrating but livable. The TV did not sustain any kind of channels and the Wi-Fi was extremely slow during our visit. On the last day, the owner put in a new provider where the TV had Netflix but no local channels. We were not able to successfully connect to the new Internet. I would give the powered amenities a 1-star.

Owner's Response: Dear Mark, Thank you for staying with us and we're very glad you enjoyed the nature and ambiance of the property. The Bali Studio is really intended for the experience of the beautiful nature of Kauai and to feel immersed in it. It is designed for a peaceful and romantic experience. We understand the internet was not very fast, and as we discussed, we had the fastest available for the area at the time. As soon as better service became available, we switched providers and now have great internet speed. We provide complimentary Netflix and many other online channels through the Roku device. It's a great way to enjoy movies and shows on demand without commercials. The infrastructure on Hawaii is not what we are used to on the mainland - especially in the rural areas, therefore, running too many electrical appliances at the same time that require a strong electrical draw is not recommended. We can appreciate how most of us used to living on the mainland may find that unusual, but here it's part of life :) We feel these small inconveniences are a small price to pay for the incredible experience the property provides. The immersion in nature, lush green surroundings, beautiful mountain views and sounds of the birds and other animals can really help us unplug and relax. We are always adding improvements as they become available and remain committed to offering modern comforts without losing the magic of the Kauai experience :) Aloha and we hope to see you back in the future (faster internet guaranteed :) Diana Mana Kei Lani
