Space 1,150 sq ft
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

1Br-1Bath Cabin With Creek And Water Falls

Located near a small creek with over 40 acres of land to explore. Trails will take you to a small private creek with native trout. From the front porch, you can see deer, turkey, and other wildlife. This rustic cabin was relocated in 1957 from the original family home place. Cabin's kitchen will meet the needs of weekend visitors with modern conveniences. The private bedroom loft offers a large window that looks over 5 acres of pasture. The living area includes a TV (for DVD's only- no satellite or cable) and assortment of DVD's and games. The main living areas has two sleeper sofas that will sleep four. We intentionally did not put Wi-Fi in the Cabin so you can truly get away. However cell service is strong so you can still receive text and voice messages.

Please note: the steps to the loft bedroom are steep... we recommend that you go down, like you go up, facing the steps.... if you do you'll be fine. Also, the front steps (3 steps) onto the porch are rock and the last one is higher that the first two. There is a smaller step to the right of the porch you can use to get onto the porch and into the house if needed. This cabin is not handicappe accessible.

About Ed Miller

In 2010 Becca and I were able to take our two boys, Russell (8yrs) and Joseph(6yrs) and move back 'home' to Boone. We wanted our boys to grow up in a rural area where they could grow and explore. This property is full of history and memories that we wanted to share with our now with out guests.

Ed Miller purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Ed Miller chose Boone

This property was sold in 1957 by Ed's Grandfather to a school teacher in Florida for a price 'no one would take'. 53 yrs later Ed and Becca were able to buy the property back and turn in to weekend/short term rentals. The property is nestled in 200 acres of family farmland. With a creek, waterfalls, and plenty area to just roam, it is a great place to just get away. The original Cabin was made from the same logs that came from the cabin Ed's dad was born in in 1924. It is a cozy place where you can just relax. Just 5 minutes from Boone, you are also close to the many activities the high county has to offer.

What makes this cabin unique

The trails will lead you into the woods where you find a creek that will sooth you body and mind. The creek offers many opportunities for both young and old. With a waterfall, places for children to explore, and space for adults to reflect and relax. From the front porch you can look over the valley of Howard's creek while watching the sun rise. This is a quiet retreat where many folks have come to rest and relax. The Cabin welcomes couples and families who want to just "Un-Plug"

Nice rustic get away!

My wife and I had a great time staying in the cabin, watching the rain from the front porch swing, and hiking around the property with our puppy! Would definitely do it again!

This property was exceptional, better than we had hoped for.

I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you are looking for peace and quiet.

The cabin is rustic but very well maintained and clean.

I can't say enough about how wonderful our trip was

Most relaxing trip ever!

  • 5 of 5

So nice to unplug from everything. Evenings on porch with Oreo ( owners dog) were the best. Ladder to bedroom is not for everyone. Only A/C is upstairs window unit. I’m a very hot sleeper but was fine with fan on me. We will be back.
