About Megan McCullough
We have owned this home in Del Mar for 19 years and love this neighborhood and the beach out front. It is the best to enjoy the ocean views from the deck and to just take a few steps down to the cliffs to look at the beautiful southern California Coast. Our boys learned to surf out front and continue to enjoy it today!

Great property with amazing views!
This is a fantastic property and the views are amazing. Beach access was just down the hill, and the outdoor shower and hot tub were always nice to come back to after being in the surf. Short drive to San Diego made attractions very accessible. Megan is very responsive and made sure everything was taken care of.
Nice view but lacking in comfort and privacy
This home is located on the bluffs and has a great view from the corner of the deck. The corner in the picture and that is about it. The large tree in the home next door prevents you from seeing the ocean any closer that you may sit to the house.
If you are a light sleeper, DO NOT rent this house because the trains run about 100 feet away and runs almost all night long. If you cannot sleep on a bed that is as hard as a board, DO NOT rent this house. We have stayed in a lot of homes on vacation and never have we both had such terrible sleep. It was very difficult to recoup after busy days after our 6 nights we were both a wreck. Not a good place to be with two 8 year olds and on vacation.
The house itself is not incredibly clean. The floors looked as if they had been swept but not actually cleaned in weeks. The light switches are dirty, the shower is moldy and has tiles that have long ago started to deteriorate and crumble. There are NO towel hooks. Not one. In the humid environment there is no place to hang the towels you use to shower or wash your hands so they sit in a heap and you have to use new towels every day.
The light in the room with the two twin beds begins to strobe and make a knocking noise if it has been on for more than 2-3 minutes.
While it does look like all the windows have been upgraded none of the window coverings fit the window size. The curtains basically provide no privacy at all in bedroom facing the street because they don't fit and are really thin.
This house had all the basic amenities to cook and clean. Two beds were short-sheeted (one queen and one twin) which made me wonder if the sheets had been changed between tenants so I ended up changing the bedding.
The owner sent an email at 8:39 am the morning the trash was to be picked up asking if we would move the containers to the street. While I do not mind helping with this task at all it was frustrating to get this email the morning of (we had already left the house and did not return until after 4 pm). Why, if she needed this done, would she not communicate the night before? We have arrived at homes that the trash was not picked up therefore there was no room for our trash and I found it frustrating. I felt bad leaving the next tenant in the same situation.
We have paid a lot more when renting a home and I guess I will sum up this review with you get what you pay for. We will not rent this home again.
Great , well kept property. Loved the location!
Location and view of the ocean was great!
Really enjoyed our stay. Location was great with ocean, shops and restaurants all within walking distance. House has beautiful views of the ocean which was great when watching the sunset on the front deck.
We had a great time! Megan was super responsive when I had questions. It was located in a great spot and the view was amazing! I will definitely be renting this place again when I'm in the area!
Sweet beach cottage, great view, walk to restaurants and the beach, in a great little neighborhood.
My husband and I, our two boys (ages 3 & 5) met up with my sister and her two girls (ages 8 & 10) and stayed here for a few days. We absolutely loved it. All the kids wanted to stay for 2 weeks (so did the grown ups, actually), and we all hope to return. Easy access to loads of fun - we had a couple beach days at the nearby beach and beach park, a zoo adventure which was an easy drive from the house, and hiking at nearby Torrey Pines State Park. We had some lovely meals at nearby restaurants, and even had groceries delivered for when we first arrived. The house was clean and cute, and we very much enjoyed the hot tub. Megan was easy to communicate with and was super accommodating. I highly recommend staying here!
Fantastic location to enjoy Del Mar's beaches and restaurants and bars in the village. Excellent surf spot right out your door. Located conveniently off of the 5 interstate so you can make day trips to the Zoo, Legoland, downtown San Diego, La Jolla, Tressles and Mexico.
