About Lori Larrabee

My husband and I both grew up in Upstate New York and have been coming to the Finger Lakes Region of New York our whole lives. Penn Yan and Keuka Lake have special meaning to us as my husband's grand parents lived on the lake and he has many special memories. Our primary residence is in NJ so the charm and magical effect this area has on us never wears off!

Lori Larrabee purchased this house in 2013

Why Lori Larrabee chose Keuka Lake

We have a lake-view family vacation home and property in the area. In addition, we have become wine grape growers on our land as well as own a small equestrian property nearby. We love the area and when this historic home became available, we jumped at the chance to invest in preserving this beautiful property for an additional 150 years!

What makes this house unique

If you appreciate wine, have a taste for history, yet demand the creature comforts and find peace in sitting on a porch or in a garden with good friends, a good drink or maybe just a good book, then please reserve your stay at Stonehouse 1870. Sincerely, Lori & Steve

Beautiful, quiet, scenic

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with a few friends to celebrate our birthdays and visit the vineyards. The house was beautifully decorated and had all of the amenities we needed for nights in making dinner and relaxing by the fire. The porch was a great spot to sit back and chat with a coffee in the morning, and the outside patio was perfect for dinners with a scenic view. We loved this house and would stay again

Considered never leaving!

  • 5 of 5

We really considered chaining ourselves to various parts of this home until we were forced out... that's how lovely and relaxing it was! The home itself it well equipped... more than well equipped actually. The location is phenomenal... the grounds are stunning and very well cared for and manicured.

We had spotty rain/humidity, which made enjoying the various outdoor areas also spotty. However, we used them when the weather cooperated, and were also quite comfortable inside. The beds are spectacular, the home is beautifully decorated, and it has a nice feel.

We brought our toddler, and Lori was incredibly accommodating and ensured a toddler bed rail was available for us, as well as a pack m play or high chair if necessary. So kind!

The things to do around the home are numerous... of you are bored, you aren't looking hard enough, or perhaps you should spend time relaxing and enjoying the stunning home.

We have been fortunate to stay in a lot of lovely rental homes over the years, and we like to try different places. This is the first place our family had decided we MUST return to.

Don't hesitate to book. Unless of course that's when I want to return, then please hesitate!!!

Exceeded our expectations!!!!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Spent four days at Stonehouse and would have loved to stay longer. The house is a completely remodeled 1870 stone house that is beautifully decorated throughout. The beds were extremely comfortable. Enjoyed bocce ball and fire pit. There's just so much that is great about this house and would definitely recommend it. Will definitely come back if we return to the area. Great location and close to Watkins Glen which was beautiful. The town of Penn Yan with farmers market was great. We brought snacks to Vineyard View winery and enjoyed the wine and beautiful scenery (we would highly recommend the winer as we felt it was the best view and within walking distance). It was a pleasure returning to Stonehouse after touring the area.

Absolutely beautiful inside and out!

  • 5 of 5

Stone House sits at the top of a hill and the view of the lake and the area below is fabulous. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The inside of the house is so nicely decorated, extremely clean and well-maintained, very well stocked, and roomy and comfortable. The town of Penn Yan is only a few miles away, and the local grocery store, Tops, has everything you need. Stone House is close to many wineries. The Saturday Farmers Market was nearby, and enjoyable to wander through. Our stay was everything we thought it would be, and more. I highly recommend Stone House. We will definitely stay at Stone House again if we make it back to the Finger Lakes!

An absolutely fantastic stay!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, along with our 6-month old, stayed here for a long weekend and it was absolutely perfect! We wanted to take a weekend to relax and enjoy the great wine the Finger Lakes region has to offer. The location of the house is very convenient for visiting several great vineyards and wineries. As for the house, we almost didn't want to leave it during the day. Lori did a wonderful job renovating a historic house and we got to benefit. It's a exquisitely clean house with lots of character and great views. She has also considered every little detail. Every thing we could have wanted was in the house. Looking for a book on Finger Lake wine history - check. Forgot your toothpaste at home - check. And the list goes on. If you want the best, this is where you should stay.

Perfect blend of old and new

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for us. We were a party of 2 retired couples wishing to see some of the wineries of the finger lakes and visit Watkins Glen State Park. The home was well stocked with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. One of the wineries was in walking distance and Watkins Glen was a 1/2 hour drive away. The blending of the old farmhouse with the modern addition was done to perfection. The front of the house has a lake view and the porch is shaded and cool in the afternoons. The rear porch has morning shade perfect for your first cup of coffee. The house is private but not isolated and is about 3 miles from Penn Yan with many places to eat and drink. Each floor has a full bath and the grounds are beautiful. There is even a bocce court if you like a little friendly game. The addition is large and air conditioned with a unit of it's own. We did not even use the living room area of the house. The "things to do" book gives ideas about food places and even tells in detail how to use the TV. The bedrooms are both upstairs and were very comfortable and welcoming. There is a state park about 2 miles away with walking trails and a lifeguarded swimming area. If anyone in the car is 62 years old its free otherwise $7 per car. I would highly recommend the historic stone house and if we return to the area would love to rent it again.
