Exactly as described - very clean and well appointed, convenient to area attractions, yet secluded!
Enjoyed a relaxing Thanksgiving weekend with family from out of town. Very comfortable, ample amenities, comfortable beds, wraparound porch, wooded mountain views, etc. Very secluded and quiet, yet only 10 minutes to nearest grocery store. Very convenient to area attractions like Sierra Nevada Brewery, Asheville airport, Biltmore House, etc. Highly recommend! Will plan another visit!
The cabin is beautifully nestled in the woods. The weather was particularly cold and we enjoyed fires in the fireplace. The cabin is adorable and kept up so well.
Great cabin in a perfect location!
We loved the rustic charm of the cabin and found it had everything we needed. It was close to plenty of great hiking spots, 30 minutes from downtown Asheville and a 10 minute drive from a grocery store. It was situated on a beautiful secluded lot that overlooked a pond. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a weekend getaway, especially in the fall!
Warm, Inviting, Spacious Cabin in Beautiful, Remote Setting
The cabin was terrific, it exceeded our expectations. Spacious, beautifully decorated and very clean. The basement area with pool table was fun. We did very little cooking but there was a new grill just outside the door for those who enjoy grilling. It is a remote location but the grocery store is only about 10 minutes away. It was really a beautiful, peaceful location. Great for relaxing and rejuvenating! The fire wood is all ready for you to enjoy a toasty fire. We had a truly remarkable stay, can't wait to come back for a longer trip with the whole family!! Oh, and we did have a bear come up the drive to say a quick goodbye the morning we left : )
A Beautiful spot, off the beaten path, to unwind and enjoy nature.
Loved the solitude! If you have stress in your life the Red Fox Den is where you should be. The cabin is well-appointed and has everything to meet your needs. The only thing that you need to be aware of is don’t arrive in the dark. The road sometimes resembles a narrow path. That said, there are wonderful foodie spots, great shopping and plenty of things to do in the Asheville and Black Mountain area. One week wasn’t enough...we will be back for more adventures.
Great getaway for RnR
My husband and I, along with another couple, took a long weekend in Asheville to do some cider/beer tasting, art browsing and relaxing. This cabin gave us the best of all worlds for doing that. We wanted to be in the woods where it was quiet (check!), near enough to Asheville that we could get there easily (check), and close to some cool local establishments (check). We loved the wrap-around porch and chairs, and made a fire each night. I know some reviews indicated there wasn't much in the area restaurant-wise, but that wasn't an issue for us. We popped by Ingles (grocery store) for some necessities (coffee and breakfast stuff) and had dinners/ lunches at Sierra Nevada brewery and in Asheville, which is about a 25 minute drive from the house. The cabin was the perfect size for two couples. There is a great room downstairs that we didn't use at all, but would be great for kids and/or more people. It was soooo quiet, which we were really craving, so it fit our needs perfectly. We all took advantage of the long drive to the property to do a little walking/ deer viewing. One note for future guests..the early risers in the group should probably stay in the bedroom off the kitchen. My husband and I were in that room and slept in later, and we could hear everything going on in the kitchen when our friends were up and making breakfast. This cabin was the perfect getaway for our long weekend.
