Leave your car and your cares at the marina because Little Gasparilla is accessible only by water taxi! That means our beaches are uncrowded and tourists and traffic are just a mainland memory. If you are looking for a quiet tropical island to relax and unplug, Little Gasparilla is your dream vacation spot. Our "nightlife" consists of giant sea turtles laying their eggs -- our only bar is the sand bar where you can find sand dollars and shells!
Hibiscus House is a sparkling clean cottage in one of the most superb locations in Florida. It features fresh, beachy decor, dramatic Gulf views, bright, sunshine-filled rooms, a nearly deserted beach and it includes everything to make your beach vacation memorable.... satellite TV, wi-fi access, use of a dock slip, beach chairs, comfortable beds, a relaxing hammock plus one of the best equipped kitchens on the beach. While the island is relatively remote, access is easy via regular water taxi service and the beach is pristine and uncrowded. The home offers snorkeling gear, boogie boards, a beach umbrella, beach towels, toys and games. The master bedroom features a king size bed, the second bedroom offers a queen size bed and there is a sleeping loft with two twins and a double bed. There is also a downstairs outdoor shower and a spacious screened porch overlooking the Gulf. NOTE: We also offer concierge service to meet you at the dock and help transport your luggage and groceries to the house!
Unlike other homes set back on the island, Hibiscus House is situated right on the beach, for the best views and no long walks to the beach across hot sand. No partial 'peek-a-boo' view from this home....you can eat dinner overlooking the Gulf and the sound of the waves lulls you to sleep at night.
Little Gasparilla Island is very pet friendly and your canine companion is welcome as long as we are notified in advance. There is a $100 pet fee per pet. Our minimum rental period is normally one week; sorry, but we do not rent for weekends. Information on boat rentals and water taxi service is provided with your rental package.
Little Gasparilla Island is a nearly-deserted tropical island with no bridge, no roads and no commercial establishments. If peace and privacy are the hallmarks of a special beach vacation, you have found the right spot! Warm, shallow waters and balmy tropical breezes caress the island....sand pathways meander up and down the island for exploring by golf cart. (Golf cart rentals are available on the island.) You park your car at the mainland marina and take a delightful 15-minute water taxi ride right to our dock. It is best to do all your grocery shopping prior to catching the water taxi....then you don't have to leave the island at all! You can even bring your pets on the water taxi with you! While on the island, in addition to swimming you can snorkel, fish from the dock or the beach, bird watch, explore, collect shells, or simply read a good book in the hammock.

INTERNET: There is no wired internet service on the island. There are a couple options for wifi. Most people just opt to use the mobile hotspots on their smartphones, especially if they have unlimited data or a large data plan. Cell service is excellent and that is the most convenient option...and it seems to work a bit faster. We can provide instructions on hot spotting if you are not familiar. If you do not have a smartphone, we can provide a Verizon jetpack for a fee BUT YOU MUST REQUEST IT IN ADVANCE. We urge guests NOT to plan on using the jetpack for entertainment...no streaming music or videos, etc. It is more than adequate for checking emails, etc. You just need to let us know in advance so we can make sure we have a fully charged jetpack available for you. Just keep in mind that it is NOT the internet you are used to on the mainland. (It is especially helpful to remind kids and teenagers who are used to unlimited data!) We usually suggest that people download books and movies to their tablets or e-readers BEFORE coming to the island.
PLEASE NOTE: We do require that two members of each group must be over 25 years of age. We apologize, but we can NOT rent to college groups as a courtesy to the homeowners and our island neighbors. Guests will be evicted if found not to meet age requirements upon check in. Additionally, we can not exceed capacity in island homes due to the fragile septic systems.
