About Charles

I bought the cabin to 'Escape' and help me to relax from life in the city, my whole world feels better for the sake of a short drive. I fell in love with the area and all it has to offer. 10 years on and I still have not seen everything and new attractions are still being introduced to the area.

Charles purchased this cabin in 2002

Why Charles chose Luray

The area is just amazing. It has National Parks on the mountains and now by the river. Civil War Sites, Flea Markets and Antiques, the river. If I am at the cabin with my active friends we have lots to do and if I am with some of my family that is older we can just relax and do nothing.

What makes this cabin unique

My son loves it and it allows him to explore nature and have experiences that life in the city does not offer.

Canoe trips are still as much fun now as they where the first time.

We now hike further than when he was a baby.

The view from the cabin is amazing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We are here safe and sound - this place is amazing! Thank you so much for everything and for our gift! You all are wonderful - now all our friends back home are jealous, lol! So you might get a few more Richmonders up here soon. This is our Honeymoon & although the cabin is really large it feels very cozy for just the 2 of us. The view is incredible we can not believe we are so lucky to spend the start of our marriage in this idyllic setting, we got right into the hot tub just to sit & look at the view together

Thank you again!

Cabin plus the Views made this an Incredible vacation.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was amazing it was "perfect" in every way. When we arrived it was really clean and nicely presented it felt like home very quickly. You can feel this is a family loved escape it has everything you need.

Watching the sunset every night was surreal it was so breathtaking.

Every aspect was just relaxing.

It felt like an honor to be able to stay in a cabin that is so close to the beauty of nature, to wake up to look out at the mountains makes you appreciate the peace & solitude you can enjoy.

The cabin is well equipped with all you need to prepare meals. We are already planning our next trip and counting the days.

The wine that was left for us was great and a very nice gesture!

Luray is a short drive away it is a really nice small town with lots of activities and places to eat if you want to explore.

We hiked to some beautiful waterfalls in the park, had some great food at local restaurants and got to see the caverns at Luray.

Thanks again for a wonderful stay & for sharing your cabin with us.

As the ad states: "Spectacular Views..." We arrived on Friday and were amazed at the views. We had plans for all day Saturday but decided to spend the day enjoying the views from the family room, deck and hot tub!

The cabin was very nice and comfortable. It is close to Luray and the caverns. Also close to the Skyline Drive. On Friday night we had dinner at The Brookside Restaurant. I highly recommend it. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable.

I highly recommend this cabin.

Wow Amazing

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I wanted to get away somewhere where we didn't have to worry about anything, but yet wanted to be close enough to something to do that we could decide on a whim to go do it. Well, this is the place!

This is by far the nicest Cabin we have ever stayed at, it is Luxury without a doubt.

The cabin lacked nothing for a relaxing stay. It was very clean and spacious for us with a view that absolutely took our breath away!

Most awesome view of the mountains I have ever seen.

We were close enough to Luray & Front Royal that we could make a 'quick run' and have anything we wanted. We always took the back roads to explore and enjoyed the scenery and the laid back style of all the locals.

Very well furnished and it was very nicely decorated log fires & hot tub under the stars in the evenings made it very romantic.

The view from every window is stunning.

From the very first contact until we were safe and sound back in our own home, the transaction was seamless. The owners thought of everything and were very easy to work with.

You will not go wrong with staying in this beautiful 'Home away from home'!

Would love to come back and stay again.

Amazing Cabin Exceeded our Expectations

  • 5 of 5

The view took our breath away when we arrived. When we got into the cabin we where stunned it is so amazing, it is even better than the website pictures.

We had a very time. The view, peace and the serenity were excellent. We enjoyed the little surprise of wine and chocolates.

Everything about this cabin welcomes you, it was clean and fresh surrounded by tree's and nature and a porch that we sat on endlessly day and night.

The newly added extra bathroom was a huge bonus when our adult son and his wife joined us.

Always fast to respond to our emails.

Dans Steakhouse with a steak for 2 is a must, Luray Caverns and the Museum is good, a trip to Skyland for lunch was nice.

Best Time of Our Lives

  • 5 of 5

I just wanted to let you know, that we had one of the best times of our lives. The cabin was the perfect retreat for us. Everything was clean and neat.

From the moment we walked in the bottle of wine you had left us for our anniversary to the feeling of home conforts all around us instantly relaxed us. To open the door onto the deck is breathtaking the view is incredible. I stacked my leftover firewood on the front deck; there should be enough to get your next guest two nights of a nice warm log fire.

Thank you very much!!!!

We can not wait to come back again.

The relief of finding something so welcoming and comfortable after a long flight was amazing. I wish all my business trips included this accomodation.
