We have a small vegan farm with organic vegetable gardens, fruit trees, two ponds and woods in Brooksville, Maine on the Blue Hill peninsula. We suggest you check out more photos of our farm and our facebook page from our website at www.sweetdogfarm.org. Good location to use as a base for taking day trips. One hour drive to Acadia.
We offer a new two level self contained unit in a separate building. This has a large upstairs bedroom and lounge area with a queen bed. There is a private bath and a small full kitchen on the first floor. High speed internet.
We invite you to visit our beautiful farm and observe what it is like to live in harmony with nature.

About Bob Jones
Bob Jones and Doris Groves love the lifestyle of living on a small, plant based farm, with their animals (cat and dog) and trying to be more self reliant -heating with their own firewood, using their own water and growing as much of their own food as possible.
Bob Jones purchased this Apartment in 1986
Why Bob Jones chose Brooksville
Doris has lived on the farm for 30 years and raised her children there. The core of the original farmhouse dates back to 1850 and was a rough hewn cabin hauled from a nearby pond. Bob Joined her in 2012 and together they have renovated buildings, built new structures and expanded the vegetable gardens and small orchard. Brooksville is a very special place. There are beautiful woods, rolling hills, farms and a nice mix of long term residents and summer folks.
What makes this Apartment unique
Picture yourself relaxing and reading in a hammock in the afternoon sun by the pond serenaded by frogs and songbirds. Or kayaking on the nearby Bagaduce River where you will see loons, cormorants, eagles, ospreys and fur seals.(We may be able to supply two kayaks) Or walking on our back woods trails where you can look for chanterell mushrooms and listen for great horned owls, hermit thrushes and pilliated woodpeckers. Or taking a leisurely bike ride along the country roads. (We can provide bikes) Or enjoy a visit to Forest Farm (20 minute drive), last homestead of Helen and Scott Nearing, key individuals in the back to the land movement in the 1960's. Take a tour there and enjoy Monday night speakers in July and August.
