Very Nice Property, Needs Light Maintenance

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this property over Thanksgiving week and had a great stay. The location was close to the beach and on the quiet end of the island. My family (adult children included) really enjoyed the stay.

A quick shout out to the property management company, A Paradise Rentals. They were very nice and super responsive to the few small issues I called them about. Quick with return calls and sending their maintenance guy over. Denise; very professional.

Upon our checkout I passed a few comments for the homeowner to consider that would potentially improve future renters experience.

The roof is badly damaged, likely from hurricane Irma, and in need of replacement. The ceiling in the master bedroom has many water stains. We did not smell any musty smell. Also did not get much rain during our stay, so did not physically see live drips.

The teflon pots/pans are mostly shot. The teflon surfaces are scratched and peeling. Technically that is hazardous if consumed. Might recommend new cookware for future renters.

Both toasters do not work.

There is a nail sticking up about halfway up the wood outside stairs. Might want to nail that back in.

Future renters be aware: there were almost no consumables in the house. Kleenex, extra garbage bags, dishwasher soap, Clorox wipes, spices for cooking, etc. We've stayed in several VRBOs that choose to stock such items. Perhaps the experience in this area is that renters just take them if they are there, in which case I get it. Just required an extra trip to Publix to stock up, then got stuck taking a bunch of extra items we bought home. Not planned. Also kitchen had regular flow of tiny sugar ants on the counter. We kept all open food in the fridge, even the chips and snacks.

Overall very happy with this location and this is a nice rental property. With some refresh and attention to maintenance, future renters can be assured of value for their dollar.

Excellent location, house well appointed and spacious. Overall great stay.

House and key were ready on arrival. No problems. The house is in a quiet, safe neighbourhood a very short walk to the beach. Enjoyed the deck in the front of the property for dining and sitting outside. Comfortably accommodated our party of 6 adults. I would recommend.

Great location but needs repairs

  • 3 of 5

The location was great! It was a 5 minute walk to the beach. It has a nice view of the water and beautiful sunsets from the master bedroom balcony. The house Though is in need of repairs and up dating. The house was very clean and nicely decorated. There is a great balcony off of the living room, but I wasn't comfortable sitting out there, the ceiling was coming loose and hanging down. The kitchen was dated and had bad water stains on the ceiling. The master bath had mold along the edge of the floor around the shower and the sink faucet knob wasn't attached. These things may seem small and petty but when you pay over a thousand dollars for four days you want it to be nice. Also, the rental company said the pool heater couldn't be turned on because we were there for less than a week, so using the pool was not an option, disappointing. We had a great stay, we love Anna Maria Island but will look for a different rental next time.
