About the property

Luxury Bedrooms, Rolling Views, Fire Pit, Decks, Patio, Games

Easy 6.6 Miles to Biltmore Estates, 6.5 Miles to Downtown Asheville (10-12 minutes). Uber and Taxi's service this location. Perfect home base for your group's stay in Asheville.

Games and Restaurant guide provided.

Outside:

Relax on the back patio, just steps from the kitchen, while cooking up family favorites on the large gas grill, just steps away from the stone fire pit. Relax around the fire on warm summer evenings or cool spring and fall nights, telling stories and cooking S'Mores. Watch your kids safely play in the large fenced front yard, wrap around decks or veranda. They can also join the neighborhood kids in bicycling around the cul-de-sac and other dead end streets.

Upstairs:

Spread out in the large king beds and walk in closets found in each of the 3 spacious upstairs bedrooms. Relax in the the large garden tub in the attached master bathroom or the very spacious full bath located in the upstairs hallway.

Main Level:

Walk barefoot on the beautiful cherry hardwood floors throughout the main level. Get familiar with the large spacious kitchen stocked by myself, a chef. Chop away on my favorite rolling block cutting board or eat out every night, it is Asheville after all.

Relax in the cozy living room with large flat screen TV with all you can watch Netflix already set up and high speed internet.

The spacious main level bedroom is complete with king bed and sitting area with futon for extra guests. This room only has curtains and a privacy screen for privacy. As a minimalist you'll find what you need but not much clutter in my home. The dining room, one of my favorite areas, has a fantastic barn-wood table that seats 8 and some additional seating is available in the comfortable kitchen bar stools and downstairs.

More Space/Basement:

For more than 6 guests we automatically open up the spacious and artsy basement with 2 additional bedrooms (1 king and 1 queen), full bathroom, additional kitchen, living room, dining area.

Entertain your kids or guests with an additional flat screen TV, foosball table, board games, and small pool table. For a basement with no windows it feels cozy and artsy with the taller ceilings and modern but simple design. It really feels spacious at over 1000 square feet. It is not fancy but its comfortable with memory foam mattresses and plenty of space for your extra guests for entertaining and enjoying board game night.

The Area:

Tunnel Road hosts shopping and restaurants, as well as leading you right into downtown (only 6.5 miles, 10 Minutes!). The home is just two miles off of Tunnel Road near the VA hospital. If you'd like to visit West Asheville or the River Arts District its all a short drive, it is convenient to I-240, I-40, and all of Asheville.

You are only 2 miles to Filo, a local coffee shop featuring excellent coffee and baked goods. East Village Grille with fantastic wings, grouper ruben sandwich, and huge greek salads, it's one of my favorite places to eat in town. (it's right next door to Filo) I am a chef so I will have plenty of great places to recommend. It's very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. You could easily ride your bicycle and get on the parkway to enjoy a beautiful bike ride and/or hike from one of the nearby trails.

Cleaning:

We hire professional cleaners to make your stay even better!

Check in:

4:30 check in and 10:00 am check out with early and late check outs allowed when available.

Interaction with Guests

My goal is to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I will be available to give as much or as little conversation, advice, directions, and information as you need.

The Neighborhood

Quiet, friendly but not nosy, convenient to lots of restaurants, shopping, about a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway! You could safely and easily ride your bike to the Parkway entrance from my home. Please drive slowly through our quiet, dead end neighborhood.

Maximum occupancy is 15.

About Kelsey

Great food and unique culture are rare to find together in one place, somehow though Asheville has managed to do it by weaving culture, art, great food and locally brewed beers, cool farms, and neat local businesses together into a charming town nestled into these ancient mountains full of waterfalls, hiking, and rich history. Traveling around the world inspired me to study Culinary Arts and to live here in this amazing place

Kelsey purchased this house in 2013

Why Kelsey chose Smoky Mountains

Its a well equipped, professionally cleaned home, just 6.5 miles from downtown. Lovely neighborhood with limited mountain views, wrap around porch, large patio, propane grill, fire pit, fenced yard and much more.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Myself, my husband, my sister, and our 5 children had a fantastic time at Kelsey's home. We stayed there for 2 whole weeks. The kitchen was very well equipped. You could really tell that it was someone's home. All the beds were super comfortable. The fenced yard was great for the kids. Kelsey even opened up the washer and dryer area for us which she doesn't usually do. With 5 little ones it was very much appreciated. The netflix on the big TV was great for the kids.

I hope we can make this a yearly thing for our family.

Good value

  • 3 of 5

Nice quiet location and a good value for all the bedrooms (almost all have king beds). House is a little rough/worn but comfortable.

Huge Asheville Wedding week

  • 5 of 5

When you are driving there you wonder where is this place? However, it is not far from just about everything in Asheville. It is really nice to be a little off the beaten path in a nice quiet neighborhood. Sitting outside around the fire pit at night you can see millions of stars. There are three levels to this house. The top level has a huge master bedroom and bathroom and two large bedrooms that share a bath. The basement has two large rooms that share a bath as well. There is a small kitchen in the basement as well. Also downstairs is a pool table and foozball table. That's where the kids spent there time. The first floor had a nice sleeping arrangement for a few people as well. Large spacious kitchen with almost everything that you could need to cook and entertain. We loved the house and everything was so clean and just as Kelsey described it. It worked perfectly for the week of our wedding!

Beautiful Home!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Kelsey's beautiful Asheville home. The wrap around porch and big front yard giving way to great mountain views in the distance made our vacation feel much more special than we could have even imagined. Kelsey was professional, polite and the amenities were spot on.

Could not stay - poor condition

  • 1 of 5

I had scheduled the property for a bachelorette weekend and was looking forward to staying but when I walked in quickly realized this was not going to work. The house had a musty odor that only grew as we walked around and some of the girls started coughing and had to leave after only a few minutes in the house. Half opened milk and other items were still in the fridge, marks of mold or something on ceilings and door jams. The "finished" basement was painted concrete which is hard to see from the images you see in the posting and what appears to be black mold lined the edge in the basement bathroom - not surprising given limited ventilation. One of the upstairs bedrooms is a dining room converted to a bedroom with a curtain on one door opening and nothin on the door to the kitchen. The worst was the owners reaction to my complaints. I called - no replies and finally texted my issues letting her know of my guests respiratory issues. She was not willing to even call me to talk to me let alone come to the house. She suggested that there was a pharmacy down the road at an ingles and they could get allergy medication - really?!? She acted like it was normal and nice for her cleaning crew to leave things in the fridge her guests might like - are you going to drink from anything open left from who knows whom from before??? I forgot to mention the dusty questionable coffee pot, used q-tip, and more we found. It looked nice at first but the more we looked and the more we were in the house - talking 15-30 minutes more- we knew we could not stay there. Her reply was simply you signed a contact and would not be providing a refund. Despite more conversations, pictures, and complaints - to date she has only refunded the deposit and offered to refund only a cleaning fee but --- and I love this, ONLY if I signed a release contract that would mean I could not say anything negative about my experience. That did not feel right as I wonder if that is why others have not complained - and so here I am standing up for my integrity and beliefs - not taking the money so I can warn you not to stay here!
