An amazing home on its own peninsula
This home has just been remodeled with a gourmet kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 3 custom bathrooms. The Master suite walks out onto the deck with a hot tub just steps away. The views from the Master and the living spaces are like no other. Everyone that comes to visit cant believe how wonderful the views and the remodel is done with high end finishes. Watch the sea crashing all around, children playing on the beach,, birds soar by the edge of the cliffs and sunsets are never missed with the over 180 degree view. I dedicated the last 1 1/2 years to making the home as wonderful as the surroundings. I think you'll agree, this is a dream come true .....

Beautiful Home in a Stunning Location!
My wife and I have stayed in a number of homes across the US and Europe. This was one of the most amazing experiences. The combination of the beautiful home and the absolutely stunning location can't be beat anywhere in the world. This will be our new "go to" getaway spot.
Breathtaking views, peaceful location, first class furnishings, well stocked kitchen, hot tub, fire pit table, outdoor grill, walkable to fabulous walking beach, gracious and helpful host -- what more could you ask for?
My husband and I were thrilled with the home and more so with the views! We didn't end up leaving the property at all so we could soak it all in...the weather was perfect and we cooked everyday in the lovely kitchen. Well appointed home with a comfortable mattress and nice hot tub, what more could we ask for?
Best spot on the Mendocino Coast! Majestic Experience!
I could not have had a better vacation experience on my tour of the North Coast. Deryl was a welcoming and accommodating host, he helped direct me to the best beaches and eateries in the area. Cell service was perfect, which is rare for this part of the coast. The property and home are obviously very well maintained and up to date. The house was obviously recently remodeled and the amenities are perfect. There is a beautiful jacuzzi hot tub off the deck that overlooks Seaside Beach to the south of the property, which is absolutely amazing. The property is beautifully landscaped with Monterey Cypress trees and other native species that are manicured with a wonderfully rustic aesthetic. There is nothing quite like falling asleep listening to the waves crash while feeling the cool salt air on your skin. One of the best things about this location is that it is remote enough, but not too far from the towns of Fort Bragg and Mendocino to the South and Westport to the North. There are wineries, breweries, fancy restaurants, art galleries, coastal redwood forests, gorgeous beaches, bridges and historical landmarks all within a 30 minute drive. I want to make this a regular vacation spot for myself and I would recommend Deryl's place to my friends and family. If you love the coast of Northern California, I could not think of a better place to enjoy it.
We had a wonderful time on the Mendocino coast staying here. Traveling from the East coast with our 3 daughters (ages 10, 13 and 15) we found the views breathtaking, the house clean and well appointed and Deryl was kind, gracious and accommodating. Highly recommend staying here-
Nice house, needs some improvements but don't go in August
My wife were due to spend a week at the house, however we cut short due to the blanket fog that covered the area. We are from the UK and so probably didn't appreciate the weather in the area as much as locals/Californians do, no doubt the views are great, but you can't appreciate them when the fog is almost perpetual, the locals call the month 'Fogust'. The house itself is well maintained with all mod cons and Deryl is a very helpful owner. The property probably isn't suitable for young children as it is literally on a cliff edge with no protective fencing. It is also a working house in the sense that at the rear of the property is a working yard with building materials/traffic cones. There is no direct beach access, you'd need to walk on the road for a few minutes or drive and park up. There's plenty to do in the surrounding area, Mendocino is only 20 minute drive from the house and worth a visit, Fort Bragg is 10 minutes away and good for food shopping and dining. The beaches nearby are lovely (even in thick fog!) with lots of outdoor activity options.
Hello Paul, it was nice meeting you and the wife Marie. I'm sorry that the weather was foggy the three days you were here. I'm sitting here on a beautiful 75 degree sunny day in August writing you this thinking how I wish the weather always met the customers desires. Unfortunately that is not possible. It was pretty obvious from the first day that you didn't listen to what your wife wanted. You asked me before you came if this was bikini weather for the wife. I told you this is a beautiful place and that it's more for sightseeing, fun and adventure then laying out on the beach. Next time please listen to the wife. Sadly you choose to blame me instead by writing a bad review Truth is the home is fabulous and even you said it has all the modern conveniences like everybody else says. You clearly struggle to see the forest for the trees as you were in one of the most beautiful places on Earth with beautiful coastlines surrounded by giant redwood rainforests, rivers and charming seaside towns. It just didn't seem like you tried as you are my first guests not to enjoy this paradise. The weather here in the summer is almost always nicer than those 3 days you were here. Again I wish I could have helped but I don't do weather.
As for the home being safe for children. About half my bookings are to families with children. Yet I do agree, if your children are not well behaved, this is not the right home for you. And as for access to the beach, the walk is for the nimble of about 5 minutes and I recommend the drive of about 1 minute and there's almost always plenty of parking at one of the most beautiful beaches around.
Wishing you the very best in your future travels! Sincerely Deryl :)
