Overview

About the property

2 Bed & 1 Bath - 400 Ft From The Beach And 400ft From The Bay

Simply Adrift is a darling 2 bed/1bath classic Florida bungalow that has been completely renovated and redecorated inside and out! It is a mere 450 foot walk to the beach and 450 foot walk to the bay. Great care has been used in selecting the furnishings and colors to give it the ultimate Beach Cottage feel. A 25x10 screened in porch has been added with a lounge area and outdoor dining, giving an oasis for relaxing and hanging out. The kitchen has new appliances and a stainless steel island, with one of the best equipped kitchens on the island. A bright, open living area with beamed ceilings and French doors leading to the screened porch make the property feel larger than it is. Both bedrooms have Queen sized memory foam mattresses, luxury sheets and bedding, plenty of closet space, and windows that floods in the natural light. The screened porch stairs are connected to the lower outside deck, shaded by a magnificent Strangler Fig tree. The back stairs off the porch lead to a new, discrete outdoor shower. Additional amenities include a charcoal grill, beach chairs and umbrella, washer/dryer and a shed with an extra refrigerator/freezer.

Little Gasparilla Island is one of the last "Old Florida" treasures left in all of Florida. It is a BRIDGELESS barrier island with just a few hundred homes, no commercial development, no paved roads or cars, and 7 miles of pristine beaches. It is the perfect location to escape the "rat race" of everyday life, whether you enjoy fishing, Eco-sight seeing, or just laying on the beach. Sand paths meander throughout the island and are great to explore on foot or via a golf cart which we will provide upon request. Boats can be rented at many of the local marina's. There is a community dock at the end of Bay Street where you can park your boat or go fishing. In order to get to the island, simply park at Eldred's Marina but call ahead to schedule the 8 minute boat ride across the bay in Pirate's Water Taxi. Whether you're a couple seeking a romantic getaway, fishermen, bird/wildlife watcher, boater, artist, or just a beach lover, this is the perfect spot for you!

A True Home Away from Home!

  • 5 of 5

My family absolutely LOVED staying in this cottage! It is just as pictured and has anything and everything you might need during your stay. It is very clean, beautifully decorated, has comfortable beds, and has a well-equipped kitchen. The house is perfect for someone bringing their own boat to LGI. The house is positioned perfectly between the dock and the beach. Although I had never visited an island like LGI, the information provided by the owners prepared us for what to expect and there were no surprises. My young kids loved the island feel and having no cars on the island made it safer for them to be out and about on their own. We felt very safe on the island in general. We will definitely be back to this cottage on a future vacation!

Island Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Simply Adrift was simply amazing! Our family had the most incredible week together. The bungalow was just beautiful in decorations and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The vegetation, wildlife and scenery were something out of a magazine! We took long walks on the beach and became quickly addicted to finding the next best shell! The people we met on the island were all so friendly and provided great insight on things to do. We would highly recommend Simply Adrift and would love to return again.

Sweet, comfortable, clean, cozy

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a wonderful week at Simply Adrift! This was our first time visiting Little Gasparilla Island, and we had a week of sunny skies, in the 80's every day - mid-February! Quick walk to the beach (or bay, f you want to fish or have a boat, which we didn't). Stacey had given us great advice about bringing everything we might need, so we brought a lot of food over, and then spent the week enjoying a simple, gorgeous place. The cottage is so well appointed with everything you might need. *Comfortable* furniture, which is always iffy in rentals - cozy couches, nice beds, super nice kitchen. We both loved the screened-in porch and the outdoor shower. Others had left some cold drinks in the fridge (we did that too) and it was so nice to get there and settle right in. Stacey replied to our questions incredibly fast, and arranged for neighbors (very nice ones) to help us out when we needed it. I can't say enough about how nice this house is. Highest recommendation. I hope we can come back!

A tranquil hidden treasure

  • 5 of 5

Stacy and Dales' Simply Adrift is the perfect island bungalow. They have it well stocked with all the necessities for the kitchen & bath. It is newly decorated with a style to fit the island life. This will be the third year staying on the island but the first for Simply Adrift. We simply loved staying here. It was the perfect size and did not have as may stairs as the others on the island. You can't help but relax. The gulf on one side and the bay on the other. We brought our own boat and the new dock was perfect for mooring. We rented a golf cart for getting around the island (no vehicles on the island only sand lanes) and exploring. The two weeks flew by. Fishing, shelling, watching the sun go down on the beach, relaxing on the large deck with a cozy fire. What more can you ask for in a vacation. We would highly recommend Simply Adrift to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle and enter an oasis of calm, quiet paradise. The Dalton's from Indiana

Lovely get away home!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent two weeks in this beautiful relaxing home. The home is very tastefully done and kitchen well stocked for cooking. We loved the front porch and I painted many afternoons in the corner with sunshine! Since we enjoy walking and exploring, we covered many miles on foot traveling beaches and collecting many shells, traversing sand roads and observing birds and other wildlife. The beach is approximately one block and gorgeous! Loved the sunsets. In addition to the highly recommended home we met many friendly neighbors. If you are looking for a true get away- you will love this!!!

Peaceful Escape

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for an authentic "old Florida" experience with charm, uncrowded beaches and natural beauty, this is it! While the peaceful setting may be old Florida, the cottage has been completely renovated in a tasteful and quality way making for a very comfortable vacation. Everything we needed to cook, sleep and relax was furnished including a new Webber charcoal grill. We visited with our teenage daughter and saw Manatee, Dolphins and plenty of other wildlife. One evening while we were in the water watching the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico, dolphins passed along the outside of a sandbar about 15' away; our teenager thought that was pretty exceptional. Sometimes we worry about renting sight unseen, no worries here. The cottage is great and the natural beaches are perfect.
