Panā€™s Abode is a special place to make memories and celebrate special occasions, though it may also become your first choice for your annual beach retreat because of its natural beauty and thoughtful amenities. The open beam ceiling of the great room lends a golden light to the interior and a stone chimney and wood-burning fireplace echo the rustic appeal. Relax in front of the large flat-screen TV/DVD or walk out on the suspended deck for a stunning view south to Manzanita. The fully equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar to supplement the dining table for casual or romantic dining. The hardwood floors continue in to the beautiful king bedroom, with its stupendous views of the ocean. A washer/dryer is tucked into the cozy queen bedroom. Youā€™ll find a useful collection of games, books and puzzles filling the shelves in the bonus room, with its futon sofa bed and writing desk. Beautiful & peaceful

We loved our stay at Neahkahnie Beach! The view from the porch/patio was beautiful and it was the perfect spot for our day trips around the area.

Great house

The kitchen was well stocked and clean; the view is awesome; the double mattress could use replacing as could the pull out sofa. Brighter lightbulbs would also be helpful. Other than that it's a terrific place to stay.

We truly enjoyed our stay. Place was quiet, surrounded by trees, with an ocean view. It was close to a beautiful beach and some hiking trails. Cabin was well equipped with all essential.

Beautiful property with a breathtaking view

This property was absolutely perfect for a restful getaway. Loved the location and scenery. It was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The floors are slippery so bring socks or slippers with grippers on the bottom. Would definitely recommend this property.

We loved this house. It was clean, warm and cozy, with a woodstove that worked perfectly, comfortable furniture, beautiful views, well-appointed kitchen. We'd love to visit again.

Very comfy family cottage. Great view of ocean, quiet street for walking and well manicured lawns. Well out of Tsunami range if you're paranoid like me-LOL

Relaxing time with lovely view

Very clean and conveniently located. Easy walk to the beach. You just have to be comfortable walking uphill to get back. Well equipped kitchen with nice quality pots and pans.

At the beach

Nice ocean view, spacious home, rustic/clean, secluded. Lovely neighborhood, very close to downtown Manzanita. Really enjoyed our stay, would book again. No dishwasher but kitchen well stocked. Didnā€™t need to reach out to property manager for anything.

Anniversary Getaway

It was perfect for my wife and I on our anniversary. I grew up in a much larger version of the quaint, cute, clean, and "loved" cabin. The setting is magical with the ocean view, sound of the waves, and the lovely foliage. Its carved out of the side of the hill and you feel complete privacy. But bring coffee!

Beach getaway

Overall this was a nice property to stay at! The location is unbeatable and the view is spectacular. It is worth it to note that there is no central AC - as someone from another state, I didnā€™t know this was somewhat normal especially in older homes. The decor in the property was somewhat odd, and we didnā€™t enjoy the small notes left in many places telling us what we can and cannot touch - it made the property feel less homey. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay

Cozy stay with beautiful view!

Spent our first weekend away as a family of three on a stormy Memorial Day Weekend, and could not have asked for a lovelier place. It's quaint and charming and has a lovely view, and it was a perfect place to hunker down while it stormed, and then appreciate the sun breaks from the deck. It was a short walk down to the beach, and a quick drive into town. If you're looking for updated and modern this is NOT the house for you. But if you love quirks and period charm, then look no further!

The property was a nice little bungalow. Very peaceful. We enjoyed the views of the beach right from the house. The house is not the most modern but worked for what we needed. The town was wonderful and provided an easy access to travel both up and down the cost. The only strange thing was all the notes and directions for occupants regarding the owners stuff. Wasn't inconvenient, just strange. 10/10 would stay there again.

Ideal Coastal Getaway

We loved our stay at Pan's Abode. It was a clean, cozy wooden cottage with a functional fireplace on an elevated perch overlooking the ocean, requiring a ten-minute walk to the public-access beach. The main bedroom was perfect: spacious, airy with a large comfortable bed and ocean view and natural white noise for a sound sleep. The second bedroom was considerably smaller, with a softer mattress and no ocean view or sound. There was also an attached office room with a small second toilet off the kitchen, a futon, shelves filled with puzzles and games and an office desk, which we didn't use, and kept this door closed to keep the heat in the living room. There's no dish washer, but we had everything we needed. We stayed for nearly a week and look forward to returning!

Great Location, Underwhelming Interior

The real show stopper of this home is that itā€™s tucked away in the trees with great views of the ocean from the patio and inside the home. We found the interior to be quite dark and also cluttered with numerous knick naks. Much of the contents in the home are very dated, the furniture is worn and the headrests of one of the living room chairs was very stained. There was an abundance of stickers throughout the home stating ā€œowners, do not useā€ which is fine but also doesnā€™t give your guests the feeling of home away from home. We still had a great vacation and I think this location has a lot of potential but is in desperate need of updating and a better guest experience.

Great cabin, beautiful views

We had a wonderful time at Pans Abode. The home had everything we needed for our stay and was clean and organized. The check-in process was very smooth. We received an email and a text message from the property manager prior to check-in. The view of the ocean was absolutely amazing and we enjoyed watching the sunset from the living room or balcony each evening. It was a very short, less than two-minute drive to the beach. In September, we had no issues finding parking on the beach. If youā€™re ambitious you can probably walk. There is a grocery store nearby where we could pick up food and any essentials. Oswald State Park is also nearby and we had a fantastic time hiking the trails. We also visited Rockaway Beach and rode the scenic railroad during our time in Manzanita. I would definitely recommend Pans Abode to anybody visiting the Oregon Coast. If weā€™re ever back on the west coast I would love to stay in this cabin again.

I felt a few key details werenā€™t disclosed. First, parking for two cars was difficult with the driveway. We had to back out of a steep uphill, then downhill and gravel, as there was no way to turn a truck around. Our other vehicle was a car, we had to make 3 point turns without the truck being parked there to leave forward. Had we known we could have taken different vehicles, we did a lot of coming and going during our stay.Second there are a lot of personal and odd photo items throughout the home. And a lot of labels to not touch. We were freezing in the home we found many, many blankets that said to not touch. We also couldnā€™t use the fireplace due to the following and most irritating reason- there was no functioning microwave and a large shipping box that looked to be a new microwave placed in the living area in front of the fireplace. There was no information provided that we would not have a microwave for preparing food for this stay. I brought a lot of food for my family and ended up having to order or purchase different food locally. And the home is older and the area with the sleeper sofa appears to be an addition with wet/musty smells unfortunately. Mainly wiring this review to help any future guests with similar needs, and after contacting Meredith Lodging directly and receiving a cut/paste response with no resolve since I ā€˜didnā€™t contact them during our (busy) stayā€™ to wait around for someone to instal a microwave! Not impressed.

Seclusion not too far from the Madding Crowd!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I operate an AirBnB and know a little something about how hard it is to be special in a crowded set of rentals. Pans Abode is exceptional, and I took away a good idea or two for our place in Woodland. Clean, loved, secluded (meaning quiet and peaceful), a grand view of the water, a lovely walk to town, neighbors who were very friendly and nary a dog that frightened me! I return even though we have a friend nearby with a lovely condo for us to use. His price is better, but this place is much nicer! Well done Pans Abode! BTW, it should be Pan's Abode, just saying!! LOL!

Comfortable, funky home

Nice view of ocean. One mile walking to beach (with moderate hill). House was clean. Had increasingly musty/old smell in futon room and half bath area. Garbage not emptied before arriving. Strewn by nighttime animals around outside area. Promised service call. No one showed. Extremely high fees for this rental. No dishwasher or disposal. No local channels on TV. No wood for fireplace. No soap to do required laundry upon departure. Otherwise, wonderful stay with friends.
