Nestled in a charming private community and just a short stroll to both the beach and town center, Windhaven Cottage is ideally located in the beautiful seaside village of Ogunquit, Maine.

Once you arrive, park your car and leave your worries (and car keys) behind! The home’s location means there is no need to fight traffic or look for parking during your stay. Walk to the shops and restaurants in the town center in 7 minutes, or walk to the beautiful beach in only 10 minutes. You can also travel around town on the Ogunquit trolley, with a stop conveniently located just outside the entrance of the home’s private community.

Situated at the end of a quaint street and backing up to a wooded landscape, Windhaven Cottage offers a private retreat for you and your guests. With hardwood floors and well-appointed furnishings, you will feel right at home the moment you step inside. This property has 5 bedrooms (+ den with sofa bed) and 4 full bathrooms. With more than 3,000 square feet of living space, up to 12 guests can spread out comfortably. The fully stocked chef's kitchen includes a large island with stools for gathering, and the living room is the perfect place to relax with its serene wooded views. There is also a separate dining room, den, and a 2nd living room on the lower level with large sectional sofa and big screen TV.

Amenities include free Wi-Fi, cable TV with Netflix access, a movie library, games, children’s toys, and books to enjoy while relaxing inside the home. Outside you will find a patio and yard area with lounge chairs, dining table, and a Weber gas grill. The home also includes a beach cart, beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, and toys (boogie boards, etc.) for your trips to the beach. You will not find a more perfectly located and appointed home for a relaxing and enjoyable beach vacation.

Please note that pillows and quilts/comforters/blankets are provided, but bed sheets and bath towels are not included. Coordinate with Cottage Linens (a local company) to supply and deliver for a small fee or choose to bring your own.

I believe this is our fourth year staying in this house in Ogunquit! It is perfect for our extended family. We have big family dinners in the dining room. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Beds are comfortable and there is plenty of room for all. We can walk into town and go the beach without using our car which is so convenient. We’ve grown fond of this house and its location and look forward to coming back every year! The owners are very helpful and respond quickly to any questions you may have.

Best VRBO we have ever found

We returned for the second year to this wonderful home, with our three generations. It is so comfy, clean, and has a great layout with plenty of space to spread out. Comfy beds, excellent quiet AC. We like to cook dinners “at home” and the kitchen is so inviting and well-organized. I love the soft beautiful hardwood floors underfoot. Check in and out was easy! Gorgeous quiet neighborhood walking distance to town/beach.

Favorite beach rental

Our multigenerational group has rented this property for three consecutive years, and it remains a favorite for all. The house is spacious, clean, comfortable, fully stocked and beautifully decorated. The location is absolutely ideal— an easy walk to downtown and a very quick drive to our favorite beach, Footbridge Beach. We cannot wait to return!

Perfect for multigenerational family!

We stayed the week with my multigenerational family (10 people, infant to seniors). Home was very clean and organized- kitchen had everything we needed. Doug and Kevin were excellent hosts- we truly appreciated the children's items (step stools, toys, gates, highchair, dishes, pack and play). We traveled a long distance and it was so wonderful to come in to a home that was completely ready for us! We also loved the little nightlights for the back patio area- a small thing, but reflected such attention to detail. Thank you!!

One of the best

One of the best houses in which I've stayed. Clean, pretty (both the house and the location), furnished with everything you could possibly need (including a Red Sox schedule on the refrigerator). Very responsive owners: A toilet that was clogged when we arrived got fixed within an hour.

Location, location, location

This house is located in a quiet wooded development with small trails for walking. The setting is lovely. And, you can easily walk to the beach or into town - a real bonus. It is a perfect vacation house for families or groups. There are multiple rooms for people to gather or to find some solitude. And, enough bathrooms that no one is ever waiting to take a shower. The kitchen is well-outfitted even for families like ours that like to cook. If you have young children, you will appreciate the fact that the hosts provide a stroller, booster seat, pack and play, toys, and children's books and movies. The hosts are helpful; check-in was a breeze. I cannot imagine anyone staying here and not wanting to return.

Great house near town!

We had a lovely stay with 2 families here in late August. The house is walking distance to town and in a beautiful perfect location. The house itself is very clean with well appointed bedrooms and decor, games for the family and a downstairs separate area with lots of toys for kids. A great spot for a family vacay!

Family vacation August 2024

We're a multi-generational group of nine, including three children. Windhaven Cottage is a lovely home, providing very comfortable space for sharing time together (and time alone). Family time in Ogunquit

This house is perfect for our family. We have 3 generations staying together for the week and love how we can walk to the beach, into town or cook dinners in a terrific kitchen that has everything you need! The beds are very comfortable too! The kids love playing downstairs with all the toys that are supplied too! We are sad to leave but look forward to next year!

Great experience! Super clean, plenty of space for our 3 generations. Comfy beds, nice decor (with plenty of room for our own “stuff”). Kitchen perfectly equipped. We rented sheets and towels. Communication was great with very clear directions in the binder and posted next to A/C, etc. Cozy wooded setting, in a beautiful neighborhood, easy walk to village!

BEST house in Ogunquit

Had a wonderful week in Ogunquit. Stayed with our adult children ages 27, 25 and 24 and had plenty of bedrooms , seating for dinner and gathering space. House is spotless and well appointed with everything you would need from kitchen utensils to games to beach chairs /wagon . Location is perfect. Short 10 min walk to beach and restaurants in town. We loved the afternoon walks to dinner where we could choose a different spot each night. Owners were quick to reply if we had any questions. HIGHLY recommend this home nestled in a quiet neighborhood but close to everything. We hope to return in the near future.

Amazing Ogunquit beach house

This property is the nicest rental our family has ever booked. The house is in a safe and quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance to two beautiful beaches as well as the downtown area. Wonderful time in Ogunquit

We had an amazing time in Ogunquit!The house was the perfect size for my adult children and grandkids. It was a hot week and the air conditioning was perfect. Very comfortable mattresses and good sized bedrooms. Plenty of space for 6 adults and 3 young grandkids. A short walk to shops and restaurants. Located in a beautiful neighborhood. Very happy with this house!!

Our third stay at Windhaven!

Windhaven has the perfect setup for our three college age/young adult kids to have friends to visit during our stay. There’s plenty of sleeping and hang out space inside, and the back patio is nice for when we want to eat meals outside. Kevin and Doug are fabulous hosts, the house is always clean and well-stocked, and it’s an easy 10 minute walk to town and Ogunquit Beach. One of our favorite features is that it’s so close go town center yet tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. We love Windhaven so much that it’s become the only place we’ll book when our family spends a summer week in Ogunquit!

Fantastic Ogunquit Vacation

We could not have asked for a better place to spend our July 4th vacation week than at the Windhaven Cottage. It more than lives up to the online description of the property. The cottage is immaculate, beautifully decorated, large enough so that any size family has ample room to spread out. A bonus is the huge family room in the lower level with adjacent bedroom area, laundry and full bath. The owners have thoughtfully provided everything needed in the kitchen to prepare any meal. Walking distance to downtown and the beach are a definite advantages. The owners promptly answered any questions we had. Windhaven Cottage would be an easy choice for our next vacation.

Amazing stay!

We had the most incredible time during our stay. Check-in was seamless, the house is so clean and also fully equipped with everything you need, including beach items and kids toys. We’re Doug and Kevin, and we’re the owners of Windhaven Cottage. We currently reside in Boston, MA, but we enjoy traveling and exploring new places whenever possible. Many years ago, in our travels around New England, we stumbled upon Ogunquit and immediately fell in love with the charming village and beautiful beaches. We were also intrigued to learn that we could escape from the city to an amazing seaside village in less than 1.5 hours. After vacationing in Ogunquit for several years and spending countless weekends exploring the Marginal Way, singing along at the Front Porch piano bar, and relaxing on the sand, we finally decided we wanted a home there to call our own.

Windhaven Cottage is more than just a vacation rental. It’s our second home, and we enjoy spending as much time there as possible. As a result, the property is well-loved and feels like home, which we believe will be evident during your stay. We hope you love it as much as we do!
