Stunning View Home in Truckee

Located on Pinnacle Loop, one of the nicest streets in Tahoe Donner/Truckee, this cabin has sleeping for 6-8 people (ideal for 6 adults and 2 kids), majestic views of the surrounding mountains, is walking distance to fantastic nordic skiing in the winter and mountain biking or hiking in the summer. The Tahoe Donner downhill ski area is 5 minutes away by car and is a fun, uncrowded resort that is perfect for families.

This home has tons of light, with windows galore to look out on the sunrise and sunset views. It's a super efficient solar heated house, which stays wonderfully warm on cold winter days. There's an effective gas stove that heats the entire house for the cloudy days.

Our three-story 3 bedroom home in Tahoe Donner is perfect for a family or two vacationing together. It has two bedrooms downstairs, one with ensuite bath, one loft bedroom upstairs overlooking the living room with a separate adjoining twin alcove, a family room where the kids can watch the 65" flat screen smart TV, a third story loft accessible by pull down ladder. There's good access for elderly folks to the bedrooms on the ground floor. Both downstairs bathrooms were stripped to the studs and completely remodeled in the summer of 2022.

All the queen mattresses are brand new-high end Caspar or Serta as of Spring 2021.

The main living area has high vaulted ceilings, large windows opening out to a long deck with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, Tahoe Donner cross country and downhill ski areas.

The kitchen has a gas cooktop, and is well-equipped with everything you need to make family or group dinners. All the cookware is either stainless or cast iron.

The large dining room table seats 8 and a hall cabinet is stocked with games and
puzzles.

Tahoe Donner is 20-30 minutes to major ski resorts such as Palisade, Northstar, Alpine Meadows and Sugarbowl. The family friendly and inexpensive Tahoe Donner downhill resort is a 5-minute drive. Our cabin is an 8-minute walk to the fantastic new
Tahoe Donner cross country ski resort that serves food and drinks and has year-round activities such as mountain biking, hiking and an equestrian center.

The place is just lovely. The view can’t be beat and the neighborhood couldn’t be nicer. Kitchen and laundry were extremely well equipped and all the beds and furniture were super comfortable. Our family of 6 adults had a wonderful time.

Clean, comfy, well appointed, great location! This was a goldilocks rental for us - it was just right for two couples and a dog. The open plan kitchen was fun to use, and the upstairs couch situation was perfect for binge watching some shows. The bedrooms seemed to be well sound proofed too.Beds were comfy, bathrooms looked new and worked (lots of hot water). The location and views are wonderful! The Donner cross country ski center was just down the road, and everything we could want was a short drive Would definitely recommend and rent again!

We really loved this house. It's located at the top of the the Tahoe Donner neighborhood with a view of the mountains. We were blessed with 40" of snow during our stay which only added to already beautiful and peaceful location. The house has been thoughtfully updated and really stands apart from most of the dated Tahoe rentals. Inside is warmed by a gas-fired stove and is full of natural light. Seeing the snow covered mountains at sunrise is pretty special. The layout is super efficient with plenty of space in the kitchen, a large dining table and a comfy sofa. Plenty of beds for a mix of guests. Having a garage to park indoors was a welcome surprise. The driveway is easy to negotiate in winter and the snow was cleared every morning before the sun was up. It's 10-15min from town and 30 min to the ski areas with snow covered roads. If you need to be closer than that there are other options. But if you aren't worried about a short drive this is a perfect house. Highly recommend and we would definitely return for another visit.

We had a wonderful time! The house was perfect for our family to relax and spend time together. The loft area was very comfortable, and the kitchen was very well stocked. The high ceilings and design of the place are wonderful. We loved going for walks right in the neighborhood, and it was an easy drive to Sugarbowl for skiing. We hope to come back!

Set up the hill from town we loved the interior style and cool plan of the house, really nice views, if you end up there during big snow storms as we did it takes a bit of digging to make a path to house but the view is so worth it!

Beautiful house with a great location. Only issues we found were that the house got really hot when we were sleeping and the "guest" bathroom downstairs didn't have a curtain on the window so you could see into it a little bit from outside up the hill. Otherwise a really great place

Perfect Tahoe getaway!

We stayed here for a long winter weekend with our two small children and dog. This is the perfect home base for winter fun with Tahoe Donner just down the road for sledding, tubing, and cross country and downhill skiing and larger ski resorts within easy driving distance. The house has stunning views and is equipped with everything you need. Very comfortable beds, great style, and updated bathrooms are also bonuses. Scot was a wonderful host with great communication and easy check-in and out. We’d love to come back in the summer!

Great stay with family and kids

The house was lovely and the hosts were helpful and communicative. Everything was clean and well-maintained. We had six adults and two kids and everyone slept comfortably. FYI, it seems like short term guests may no longer be able to use the amenities at the Tahoe Donner rec center. Also, the check out process was a bit time-intensive since we had to wash and dry all the dishes and sheets. Not a big deal unless you have a large party and have to do multiple loads.

Very well appointed house

Overall, our experience with the house and owner was very good. We weren't able to stay at the house for the entire duration of the reservation due to the significant snow storms / road closures but once we got to the property, the house was very well appointed and had anything you could have needed. In general, everything was very clean and well maintained. The owner was responsive in communication and worked with us as we were trying to confirm arrival dates based on weather/accessibility. Would stay at house again.

Great Views!

Scot, thanks for letting me stay at your property. The views are amazing. A couple of comments: I think I recommend is perhaps new paint in the rooms and bathrooms, and change the color of the carpet in the downstairs bedrooms. The rooms look gloomy and dark, and a lighter color on the floors might add light in the rooms. The kitchen needs more pans. There was only one available. There were several lights out, but since it was only me staying at the house, I managed. You have an awesome property with an awesome view. And the vast trails area close to the house make it a fun place to be, for running, walking, hiking, cycling. Thanks again!

Stylish, comfortable, modern, convenient location

Two families plus an au pair and a dog were comfortable during our week at the house with great views of the Tahoe Donner downhill ski area. Kitchen was well-equipped and we were especially impressed that there were Heath Ceramics dinner plates. House is an open A-frame floor plan, so although the young kids were in the loft at the top, they complained that the adults were too loud for them to fall asleep. But overall a great space to fit everyone in our group. The beds were also really comfortable and I slept better there than I do at home. Bathrooms were fine but haven't been updated as much as the rest of the house. Hot water in the shower was sensitive when others were using hot water at the same time. Perfect location for skiing Tahoe Donner - only 5 minutes to the downhill resort area where the kids took lessons and walkable to the cross-country resort area.

Mountain getaway

This house is very unique and artistic! We loved the owner's fun style. The house was cozy and in a great location and the check in was easy. The cleaning fee is pretty expensive so we were surprised they wanted us to not only wash our sheets towels and dishes but also put them away and we thought that was excessive given the cleaning fee. The house has some windows and doors that don't open and it was very hot when we were there so it would be good for those to get fixed and if you plan to go when it's hot just know there is no air conditioning. The house advertises to sleep 9 but the upper loft is only accessible with a pull down ladder and only a railing not a wall on two sides so this would not be safe for little kids but it's super cool and we loved the full design. Overall we enjoyed it very much and would stay again!

Perfect Extended Family with Dog Tahoe Donner Stay

We came with our elderly parents and dog and it was perfect. There’s two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main level - including two beautifully remodeled bathrooms. The kitchen is easy to work in with multiple people. The loft bedroom has nice views as well. The TV is massive and it’s located in the loft with a very comfy recliner couch that’s so fun for movies. There’s a new huge 2 car garage. yay! This is actually a huge deal. You can walk into the house easily from it. We didn’t even use the front door once. The kitchen is well stocked including herbs and things you sometimes can’t get in rentals. There’s a kettle and a nice brewed coffee maker and coffee grinder which is perfect since we don’t like pods. There’s a 4 burner gas range and everything you need. The host is really easy to work with and they’re not a property management company so you feel like you’re at your friends cabin. Everything is well stocked including shampoo, conditioner, TP, paper towels, dishwashing things, etc., so you’re only buying food at the market at the bottom of the hill (Safeway). The location is amazing. There’s has lots of activities nearby: cross country skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. We went snowshoeing every day. Close to Sugar Bowl - one of the best low-key resorts. The house itself is perched on top of the hill which is great for views and provided tons of light and warmth throughout the house. We hope to come back often. 5 stars. Highly recommended.

Excellent Stay

We had a great time in this beautiful home! Truckee is a gorgeous, peaceful town. The neighborhood was quiet and the views from the home were perfection. My family went for skiing and the nearby resorts were excellent. The home was clean, and tastefully decorated/designed. Scot was an excellent host, and easy to communicate with.

The Pinnacle Perch is a beautiful custom built mountain cabin. The home features many unique details; the brick walls and slate floors absorb heat all day. It also features a tall "Trombe wall" which is a passive solar heating design. The woodwork balconies are all custom made and the home has much character and charm. We've chosen quality decoration and bedding to make your stay comfortable and appealing. The flat screen TV, fast internet, WiFi and stereo system (bluetooth from your device) makes entertainment easy.

We are located in Tahoe Donner which offers three venues to explore each winter. At Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Area, skiers and snowshoers may explore over 100 kilometers of groomed terrain and five huts throughout the expansive trail system. This year the Alder Creek Adventure Center, a brand new state-of-the-art facility with expanded services, opened in November and many events will take place throughout the season, such as the new Winter Festival and Taste of Truckee gourmet tour. At Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area, skiers will reap the benefits of snowmaking, new this year, while taking advantage of a variety of learn-to-ski programs and family events. Highlights include the Annual Torchlight Parade and the 200-Foot Banana Split Extravaganza. Tahoe Donner Snowplay is the perfect venue for families with children as well as the young at heart, offering the most affordable sledding and tubing options in the area, plus snowball launching contests and more wacky events throughout the season. New to Snowplay this year is a food truck serving up delicious and affordable cuisine options.
