Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2-1/2 bath in quiet neighborhood; close to everything!

Indulge yourself at Nature's Harmony. Getaway to this luxurious cabin tucked into North Carolina's premier mountainside. Nature's Harmony is more than your traditional vacation rental, but rather a warm inviting log cabin in the woods. This 1920’s built log cabin centrally located in an area minutes from charming downtown Hendersonville and a short drive to Asheville is tucked between multiple hiking trails with picturesque scenes.

From the moment you walk through the front door you will be astounded by the beautiful log walls with white chinking, hardwood floors, beams and a floor to ceiling stone fireplace. To make this room even more inviting, a leather couch and chairs with cushy throw pillows summon you to curl up with a good book. In the corner is a game table which faces the 48” TV so you won’t miss any of the action of your favorite team or show. A plethora of games and puzzles are available if you wish to unplug and enjoy good old fashioned fun! The original cabin has a unique feel. As you wander from room to room you may notice a creak in the floorboard or a spot that isn’t quite level. These foibles are what make this place truly charming. There have been a couple of additions over the years to update the living space.

The second bedroom, on the main floor, next to the living room has a plush-top queen-sized bed, hardwood floors with area rug to keep your toes toasty. This bedroom is adjacent to a bathroom with two separate sinks, toilet and tub/shower unit. Upstairs you will find the third bedroom with its plush queen mattress, cozy chair and two closets. A half bath can also be found upstairs.

If you want to enjoy a home-cooked meal, all you have to do is provide the food! Nature’s Harmony comes stocked with all of the essential kitchen tools for baking and cooking, i.e. electric stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, and large refrigerator as well as the basic dishes, small appliances, cookware and spices a gourmet cook could possibly need. There is island seating as well as a dining area which will seat eight.

A huge master suite with sitting area has a pullout sofa bed and comfy chairs accompanied by a 50” TV. This area is so large that it can be divided for more privacy if guests decide to stay overnight. Luxuriate in the brand new master bathroom with double sinks, enclosed commode room, and large walk-in shower. In a closet attached to the master bath is a large capacity washer and dryer so you don’t have to take your dirty clothes home. Lay in the king-size plush bed and enjoy the sound of rustling leaves as you gaze out the patio doors which open into the large screened-in porch. From here you can take in views of the gardens, sip cocktails and unwind, or enjoy the morning paper with your coffee. There is also a fire pit so you can roast marshmallows or star gaze at the vast sky at night in the private backyard.

The availability of multiple living areas allows for conversations to evolve in a way that the modern world often interrupts. We want you to turn off your cell phone and computer if you need a break from your busy life. WiFi and cell signal still allow for a reality check if work demands a few minutes of your time. A desk and printer are available for you to use in the office.

We welcome you to make Nature’s Harmony your new home in the mountains; one you will want to return to year after year. Escape today to the tranquil comfort of Nature’s Harmony.

About Ann Marie & Joel Franck

Wisconsinites turned Southerners! While searching the States for a bed and breakfast to purchase, we came upon Hendersonville and absolutely fell in love with the area. It had everything anyone could want; outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, (two of our favorites), biking, rafting, ziplining, not to mention the sights like the Blue Ridge Parkway, Chimney Rock, DuPont Forest, Biltmore, the thriving arts community of Hendersonville and Asheville. Greenville and Georgia are within close proximity and the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway with its views and microclimates had us at the first photo opportunity! Everything we needed was right here in this thriving community. Hendersonville just felt like home even before we could call it home. We bought a house and a year later bought another one so we could share this wonderful experience with you!

We live within ten minutes of the vacation rental so if there is ever any concern we can address the issue within minutes. We hope you will fall in love with Nature's Harmony just as we have.

Ann Marie & Joel Franck purchased this house in 2015

Why Ann Marie & Joel Franck chose Smoky Mountains

The first time we saw the log cabin we knew it would be our new home. As we walked through the front door and saw the craftsmanship of the wooden beams and flooring, it just felt like "home". Nature's Harmony house is truly the best of both worlds...a bit of the past with all the modern conveniences one would want in a house in the mountains. We loved the setting because the house is nestled among trees and shrubs which allow us to have a very private yard in a quiet neighborhood. We felt like we were miles from town although we are only a couple of miles from a grocery store, the hospital or bustling downtown Hendersonville and less than 30 miles to vibrant Asheville that has so many things going for it.

There is a massive master suite with sitting area and a new master bathroom was just added. The landscape and gardens are the next renovation project including a new fire pit to enjoy as one gazes at the stars in the always clear North Carolina skies.

What makes this house unique

This home's appeal will revitalize the artisan in all, craftsman or not! The house is perfect for a couple who just wants to get away for the weekend or for a family, or two, who want to gather in a central location to have some fun hiking the many trails close by or sightsee at locations less than an hour away. This area boasts numerous activities and guarantees that no one will be bored while visiting.

The floor plan is perfect for someone to be relaxing on the comfy leather sofa watching the large screen tv or reading in the living room. A game table is set off in the corner for others to partake in a rousing game of go fish or poker! If the game gets too rowdy, simply close the doors that lead to the office and kitchen so others can enjoy gossiping without being heard. The master suite is at the rear of the house. It boasts a king size bed and large seating area so one, or many, can watch the 50" TV. The seating area has a pullout couch so additional family members can sleep in this room as well. There is a room divider which will allow for privacy for both parties. The best part about the master suite is the screened-in porch which one can access through french doors. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a nice glass of wine while you unwind from a day of sightseeing.

  • 5 of 5

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our hosts had everything for us that we needed and even a bottle of wine chilled as well ! They were very flexible in allowing us to add a day to our visit last minute. Definitely in the mix for us next year. Overall a wonderful family vacation made possible by a great location !!

Quaint cabin..

  • 4 of 5

My first cousins and I enjoyed our girls' weekend at Nature's Harminy. The cabin was impeccable, with lots of attention to detail. We especially enjoyed the comfortable screen porch, as well as sipping the complimentary bottle of wine. My only criticism would be that we had to buy insurance, as well as pay a damage deposit. I have been renting vacation properties for years ( mostly beach homes), and this was the first time I was ever required to do both. The property is conveniently located to Hendersonville, and we enjoyed a show one evening at Flat Rock, as well as browsing in the numerous downtown shops.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments related to our property. We strive to make every guest's stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. We are glad that you enjoyed your overall experience. We had seriously looked into this re: damage protection insurance and/or refundable deposit, but felt that this combination provided us the best coverage we would be comfortable with. The refundable deposit gives us control if there are minor issues while the insurance protects both of us in the long term. It comes down to a "comfort" level of assurance. In the end, as a guest, you are still paying for the insurance only as the damage deposit is refundable to you.

Great property that is convenient to many attractions.

  • 5 of 5

The Franks have thought of everything, down to flashlights if the power goes out. The area the cabin is in is famous for it's natural wonders and incredible outdoor activities. The Franks take this seriously and encourage green living at their property making it easier to leave the area better than you found it. Anybody that stays here definitely needs to take advantage of the fire pit. It was great sitting around with our friends, enjoying the outdoors. All in all it was a great experience.

Hendersonville is a happenin' place! The lively downtown has a variety of wonderful restaurants to choose from as well as fabulous stores to take a day or two to meander through and find a momento to commemorate your stay in the mountains. Hendersonville boasts two vineyards, Burntshirt and Saint Paul, where often you can enjoy the sounds of local musicians. If wine isn't your scene, visit Southern Appalachian or Sanctuary Breweries located right in Hendersonville. Of course, Asheville boasts many breweries too for you to taste your way through. Throughout the year there are many festivals like the Garden Jubilee in downtown Hendersonville Memorial Day weekend; NC Apple Festival over Labor Day weekend; Farm City Day the first weekend in October; or NC State Fair the second week of September. Every Friday evening, June through August, enjoy a free concert on Main Street downtown Hendersonville. The Music On Main Street concert series has become a favorite summertime event with families of all ages. Music On Main Street features some of the best regional artists performing live on the permanent stage located on the corner of Main and Barnwell Streets. Another favorite event is the street dances. The sounds of fiddles and banjos playing at the Street Dance have been a part of Henderson County's heritage for 97 years. People of all ages journey to downtown Hendersonville to enjoy mountain heritage music and dancing. Put on your dancing shoes for some good toe tapping music, where there is a dance area in front of the stage. The dances are held every Monday evening from July 11 through August 15 at Visitor Center, 201 South Main Street. For more information on area events visit http://www.historichendersonville.org

Sports enthusiasts, adventure awaits you! Rock climbing; biking; climb the vast mountains in the area; visit the Green River Gorge for many treetop activities like Zip-Line or fly fishing; river raft or kayak the French Broad River.

If you choose to visit a neighboring area like Chimney Rock, DuPont Forest, Saluda, Greenville, SC and of course Asheville can all be accessed within an hours drive. We would be more than happy to help you narrow down your choices or answer questions on the activities in the area.
