Why Heather McCollum chose Jonesport
The McCollum Cottages date back to the early 1900's when their used to be around 8 of them. They are situated on a bluff above Moosabec Reach on McCollum Ln, overlooking McCollum Beach. Given this history - the McCollum's needed to get them back in the family and make them available for others to enjoy again!!

A peaceful and quiet place
We had a lovely stay at the Lupine Cottage! It was perfect for us, We enjoyed Jonesport and the surrounding towns. We made it to the wild blueberry festival in Machias, and had a great time. Most of all, we loved the quiet relaxation of the cottage. We would stay here again!
Great location and price. Situated on beach property in nice quiet town between Acadia National Park and Campobello International Park. Nice steps to water, but we swam in Rogue Bluffs State Park.
There are several nice eateries, but also enjoyed "home"-cooked meals. We didn't miss TV at all - thanks to nice selection of DVDs.
Full moon over the ocean was gorgeous! The owners are friendly and very helpful. Cabin was clean and comfy.
A high point was sitting and drinking tea on the deck each morning and watching the boats heading out! Wonderful area - we hiked, biked, and kayaked!
Beautiful location, quaint cottage
Clean, simple cottage located right in Jonesport with beautiful views of the harbor.
Overall very happy with the accommodation.
Internet weak (as advertised).
What a perfect place
This cottage was the perfect size and looked right out over the water. We spent a lot of time out front on the porch, and down on the beach looking for sea glass. We found oodles! This part of Maine is one of my favorite places - so peaceful and quiet. It’s just remote enough to have amazing views, trails to hike, ocean sounds, and perfect weather. Jonesport is only a short drive from so many beautiful places, including Acadia. Tunk Mountain is worth the hike. Campobello is a short drive up the road. The Machias Blueberry Festival was so much fun. This vacation could not have been better (unless of course it was longer). Thank you to Heather, Rick, Donna, Lisa and Yuzu for sharing your wonderful little cottage with us.
Enjoyed the quiet and the views were to die for!
Loved running into the people of the town, the whole atmosphere of the town takes a person back to what a town should be! My son Joshua especially loved it as it took him away from a place where no one seems to care for anyone! Loved the view every morning and the fog that seemed to come in daily! Makes one forget there are problems and scum in the world today! I actually enjoyed having no TV or internet! We toured most of Maine and Canada from where we stayed and didn't mind the drive to the places we wanted to go! I feel so renewed and my son and I had a wonderful time! The first night there, it was as if GOD greeted us with high winds, and the last night there was the same! Made me realize we all need to get back to basics and just enjoying the wonders of this NATION that GOD BLESSED us with! The history of the USA is so rich up there and it's upsetting the kids don't get enough of the beginning of our country! All in all Heather I truly enjoyed staying at your cottage, and GOD WILLING I will be back!
I'm thrilled that you and your son had a wonderful time in our little seaside cottage. Thank you for the lovely, heartfelt review. We appreciate it so much. Have a fabulous rest of the summer! We'd love to have you back!
Jonesport is a working fishing village where lobsters are brought in on a daily basis. Buy them right off the boat or dine at one of the local restaurants. Watch the boats sail in and out of the reach and under Beals Island bridge.
Blueberries ripen around mid August. Attend local blueberry festivals along the coast.
