Served our needs just fine
This little place served our needs just fine. We were not in the room much as we were just needing a place to sleep and shower as we found different places to stay along the way as we went around the island. Only gave it a 4, b/c we had a little difficult time sleeping that first night with the humidity and no A/C. Had the windows open, but as Texans, we are used to our AC.
Great Place to Stay near Volcanoes
Jim & Kepi Hains have a wonderful place near Hilo, HI. We enjoyed our stay for 4 nights. The place is beautiful, comfortable, clean and quiet. They provide everything you need to make our stay nice. We went around Hilo and the Volcano park and did a lot of hiking; it was great to come back at night and sleep placidly. Nice setup.
Beautiful, quiet spot for a Hawaiian stay.
Kepi & Jim are awesome hosts who are very welcoming and warm folks. Very nice and peaceful accommodations. I stayed on the 2nd floor 1 comfy bed w/bath (shower stall), microwave and mini fridge which was enough for my needs. You definitely need a car to access this location. Highly recommend! I traveled solo and stayed 6 nights. I found the singing coqui frogs to be a sweet comforting sound which lulled me to sleep each night--however, they really weren't loud. I'd stay there again should I ever return to the Big Island of Hawai'i!
Kept and Jim Haines are two of the most gracious and accommodating hosts I have ever met superlative
I have stayed at so many people's house over the decades and Kepi, along with her husband, Jim are so nice! The room was on equal footing with some of the four star hotels I have stayed at regarding ambiance, cleanliness, privacy, location, and staff accommodation. What an incredible couple to visit with! Brimming with good local advice and guidance, coupled with grace and respectful compassion, I most definitely would make their property a must on any return trip. And the property! What a magical place! Do yourself a favor and check this stay out, I promise you will not regret it.
Excellent stay. Everything you need is availible near by. Very clean. Frogs singing you to sleep every night. I had an enjoyable, very relaxing one week stay. Definitely, would stay here again.
