Rosarito is full of quirky, treasure-packed galleries, showcasing everything from expressionist paintings and bronze sculptures, to artworks made with coffee and colored flour. If extreme self-indulgence is more your thing, the town also boasts an array of irresistible spas, where you can treat yourself to a heavenly massage, invigorating water therapy, or a decadent beauty treatment. The main draw for most, however, is the golden-sand beach, which throngs with activity for much of the year. There are plenty of Rosarito vacation rentals located right on the seafront, perfect for whenever you want to take a break from the sun.
Rosarito’s clear blue waters offer endless opportunities for adventure and excitement, whether you fancy a relaxing day of paddle boarding or a spot of adrenalin-pumping kitesurfing. Or maybe you’d prefer to embark on a scuba diving expedition, and get up close and personal with the mesmerizing local marine life. If you’d rather stay on dry land, you can traverse Rosarito’s sands on horseback, or take an unforgettable trip across the dunes on a quad bike. Golfers are well catered for, with beautifully manicured courses, boasting sensational ocean views. Meanwhile, the rugged surrounding countryside offers a dramatic backdrop for hikers and mountain bikers.
Rosarito enjoys a dry, mild climate for much of the year. The summer months of June to September are pleasantly warm and sunny, and very rarely uncomfortably hot. Visit in winter and it may well still be warm enough to lie out on the beach, although you’ll want to pack a sweater or jacket for the cool evenings. Rainfall is at its highest from January to March, but even during this period, it’s unlikely to interfere with your plans. The downtown district can be a little noisy at night during the peak summer season, but many Rosarito vacation rentals are safely out of earshot.
Nature lovers visiting Rosarito are in for a treat. The deep-blue Pacific Ocean teems with life, from colorful fish to adorable sea turtles. Off the coast of Rosarito, you’ll find the Coronado Islands, a favored resting spot for sea lions and sea elephants. A short drive south of the town, you’ll find over a mile of dramatic sand dunes, which beg to be bounced across in a 4x4 vehicle. And the semi-arid climate ensure that the surrounding undulating countryside retains a ruggedly beautiful orange hue.
