HALE ANUHEA
In Hawaiian "Hale Anuhea" means house in the cool, fragrant upland forest. We gave this lovely name to our newly built home because it seemed so fitting. The house is surrounded by lush green rainforest at an elevation of 3800 feet and is just minutes from the entrance to Volcano National Park.
When you first arrive, you will find a fully equipped skylit kitchen, and a very comfortable living and dining area with a gas fireplace, two cozy bedrooms, each with their own gas fireplace and flat screen T.V. In between the bedrooms, there is a large skylit bathroom with a heated 2 person jetted tub and a separate shower. A covered deck wraps around the front and side for your enjoyment. All the furnishings and decor were carefully selected with your comfort and intrest in mind, and we do hope that you will truly enjoy your stay.
In the morning, the rain forest will awaken you with the sweet melodic songs of native hawaiian birds, while the cool crisp breeze dances with giant tree ferns and ohia trees. Sit by the fire, or out on the deck and enjoy a nice cup of Hawaiian coffee or a selection of teas.
When you are ready to start your day, Joan Earley of The Country Goose, will provide you with a gourmet breakfast and warm friendly conversation, just 1 block away. If you prefer, you can prepare a meal of your own choice in your "home away from home" kitchen.
Our Big Island offers so many different adventures! You can explore Volcano National Park, with the only "drive-in" volcano in the world. You can witness first hand the volcano goddess Pele's handy work as she adds new land to the island. You can swim or snorkel in the crystal clear waters at one of our beautiful beaches. A drive to various destinations will show you the vast diversity of this splendid island.
After a full day of exploration and perhaps dinner at one of the fine restaurants in the village, your home awaits you. Relax in the jet tub, watch a little T.V., or just sit by the fire and reflect on the day's adventures.
When your day is done, you'll drift off to sleep in the warm comfort of your queen size bed, to the sounds of the rainforest night.
E komo mai! Welcome!
