This unit is arguably the coziest, most uniquely located, condo in the famed Bluefin Bay Resort on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Recently remodeled & redecorated top to bottom in an 'elegant cabin' flavor. Sleeps up to 8. Need a little more space? We have 2 more nice Bluefin homes nearby that sleep up to 8 each (one very luxurious, one pet-friendly) so you can bring your entire entourage!
You'll welcome our Guest Appreciation Coupons - MORE $ value per day for each additional day of your stay - good as cash for selected canoeing/kayaking/biking/skiing, charter fishing, gourmet dining, spa pleasures and more.
(Excuse some background: In Bluefin Bay Resort 'language' our home is sometimes referred to as a 'Three Bedroom Elite' - & in that 'language' what we refer to as the 'A' section is a 'Studio With Loft' & what we call the 'B' section, upstairs, is a 'Lakeside Guest Room.')
Some special ways this unit DIFFERS from other units at this resort...
...one of only 2 condos right ON the historic Tofte pier, where you can gaze at the breaking waves from either of 2 decks
...3 huge ceiling fans (bigger, more effectively hung, etc., than most units) in 2 bedrooms & living room plus 2 special fans in loft
...marble vanities in 2 baths & Silastone kitchen counter
...fireplace mantel of huge, cedar logs oozing northwoods ambiance
...option of Ethernet for your laptop (in addition to Wi-Fi)
...3 flat-screen TVs ('A' section living room & loft and 'B' section master bedroom
Stay here & look right down on the nearby waters of Lake Superior just feet away, where frequently the crashing waves of the mighty Lake offer spectacular sights & sounds as the waters splash over'n'around the historic Tofte Pier.
You'll not regret additional nights at this neat resort! Coupons applicable nearby: dining, outdoor equipment, charter fishing, neat north country shopping, golf, spa pleasures OR future reservations! Guest Appreciation coupons substantial (more $ each successive night you add) GA coupons add up to as much as $500 for 6-night stay in busy season

My husband & I have been coming up here for the past 3 yrs. We decided we would celebrate our wedding anniversary every year up at the North Shore. We've stayed at Bluefin every time, although not in the same units. We stayed in the complete 14 (A&B). We brought up our 3-month old as well. So baby's first time up north! We enjoyed every minute here. Cozy fires, listening to the waves & loving the Keurig coffee maker! I may have to get one! The layout of the unit has been one of our favorites & we felt like we were IN the lake! The view is amazing! Even though the lake looked like the Atlantic Ocean with the size of the waves, it reminded us of our honeymoon in Tortola. But colder, Ha! Thanks for allowing us to stay! We're already looking forward to next year when our son can enjoy a little more of what his parents do. :) Jeff & Alyssa, Hugo, MNDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Our time at Bluefin was lovely - the sound of waves crashing and seagulls calling made this location feel other-worldly. There are so many places to explore and things to see it is hard to fit everything in! The Bluefin Grille was delicious and the waiters wonderful. Overall our first stay here has been wonderful and hopefully there are more to come. L.W., E.W., S.W.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Came up here for a birthday get-away; was not disappointed. My whole family loves 14, the artworks and layout is exceptional. We love the window seat overlooking the old dock. Bluefin Bay is one of our favorite places in Minnesota. We hiked Britton Peak/Sawbill Trail. It was gorgeous! We also hiked Oberg Peak. I am in love with the Superior Hiking Trail. Kudos to all those peopole who work hard to maintain and preserve the trails. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your lovely home. We'll be back! The R____ms P.S. We also really enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub! P.S. #2 We also really like your collection of books, especially Betsey Bowen's Antler, Bear, Canoe.Did you find this review helpful? Our family has been coming to Bluefin since its "beginning" in the 80s. We have 2 daughters, 19 & 23, & this is our home away from home. Our oldest daughter will be getting married here next September. What a beautiful wedding that will be! Thank you Bluefin for all the great memories we're made here - and many more to come! Annual trip to Bluefin with son & his girlfriend. The boys hunt - girls go shopping to Grand Marais. We have stayed in many rooms here - but we all agreed this was great. I got to have coffee on the deck both mornings. Sunday, plan on hiking Carlton Peak.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was out third full family trip to Bluefin Bay. We celebrated Christmas a little early this year and had a great time! The suite was absolutely beautiful and there were plenty of activities for our family (of 8) to partake in! Very scenic views, spectacular panoramic of the Lake through the large picture window. Our cameras got plenty of exercise!. Have a wonderful Christmas! Wo_____w family, Aitkin, MNDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1986
About the owner: We're Barb & Jack, happy to meet you & muse - vicariously - that you might be thinking of enjoying our special 'home away from home' on the North Shore of Lake Superior. We may be retired, sometimes just 'tired :),' but we're fortunate we can stay active & would be pleased if you can enjoy the special wonders of Bluefin Bay Resort. We're relaxing just a bit after high-intensity careers: Barb is a long-time Registered Nurse, partly in EMT, mostly in labor & delivery. Jack's career was in the advertising business, almost entirely in his own advertising agency enterprise. We both were reared in a small-town/agricultural environment in southern Minnesota that has surely left its mark on us forever. We love family (kids, grandkids & great-grandkids!), travel, horses & mules, desert, mountains, oceans, trains, boats, hiking, Jeeping, Western music (different than 'country'!), opera, cowboy poetry, and, and, and.
Why the Owner Chose Tofte:
It's easy to fall in love with this part of the country, the North Shore of Lake Superior, largest body of fresh water in the world. We've certainly been smitten. Sometimes this rugged coast is compared to the New England coast. Sometimes the nearby Sawtooth Mountains remind us of the west. The vast range of outdoor recreation opportunities -'right out the back door' - have been a huge attraction: unlimited hiking opportunities, hundreds of miles of XC trails, fishing, charming Americana in the small towns, best Alpine skiing east of the Rockies, kayaking & canoeing, on & on. And, of course, we were also attracted to the wonderful amenities of Bluefin Bay Resort, 2 pools (one outdoor & heated year 'round), 2 hot tubs (one also outdoor), and much more. Bottom line: We're glad we chose Bluefin Bay. We think you will be, too.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We've done our share of hiking (including backpacking some 200 miles of the famed Superior Hiking Trail & day hikes galore) ...enjoyed picnics overlooking the Lake from atop Mt. Oberg or Carlton Peak ...relaxing (on our deck, or on the rocks a few feet away) to listen to the waves of the Lake crashing (or just lapping at the shoreline) a stone's throw away ...visiting the cascading streams feeding the lake, the cauldrons of the Temperance River, Devil's Kettle on the Brule River, the spectacular double waterfall of the Caribou River ...watching the kids & grand-kids skip rocks when the Lake is quiet ...the 'Smore's sessions around the campfire ...we could go on & on.
