  We loved this little haven nestled in the Hills. It was a perfect location with exceptional views. We can't speak highly enough of Rowena & Douglas who manage this property. They were easy to contact, and can't do enough for you. We will definitely be staying here again. It is just a short walk to Hollywood Blv & a short drive to every where else. Our whole stay there was perfect, couldn't have asked for more!

  I don't know why it took me so long to write this review. I rented this place out for my boyfriends 25th birthday and it was the best place I every stayed at. The views were breathtaking, it was clean and everything we needed was available to us. We had so much fun that weekend and felt right at home is this beautiful hideaway in the hills. Douglas greeted me at my arrival and he was so kind and very helpful giving me ideas of places to take my hubby for his birthday. This was one of the best vacations we ever had and we are constantly talking about, "that one weekend in that amazing home." I would stay here again and again. It is well worth the money especially if you want to go to the Hollywood Bowl which is right around the corner from this lovely home. I think what my bf loved most is the owner of the home is a composer/producer and so is my bf so seeing the owners plaques on his office wall made him feel right at home. Thank you again for everything.

  Our family of 4 chose this home for its unique character and spectacular views. We were not disappointed. The whole neighborhood was very cool. The homes in the hills are close together but they were situated to be extremely private. From the deck and windows, you can see Hollywood and the LA skyscrapers in the distance but are still surrounded by a natural landscape of various trees, cacti and bougainvillea. The location is walking distance to Hollywood and we could reach Hollywood & Highland in 15 minutes and walk either way to Grauman’s Chinese Theater, the Hollywood walk of fame/stars, restaurants, shops, etc. It is uphill on the way back, but it as great exercise! We saw a few “interesting” people on Hollywood Blvd but felt perfectly safe in this neighborhood since it is a bit of a walk from the main drag and the buildings on the hillside are only accessible by the elevator and/or many stairs. The home interior is a blend of old retro style and modern updates. Bedrooms are a comfortable size with good quality linens, and the master has a large TV and AC unit (not needed) while the other BR had a desk to set up our laptop, and my kids, 11 & 13, had no problems sharing the sofa bed. The LR is on the smaller size and the modern chairs are comfortable but not the best for a family of four to watch TV – not a big deal since my husband and I spent our time on the deck enjoying the incredible weather and views! The home is well stocked with supplies and a nice washer and dryer. Being used to the summer heat/humidity in VA, I was concerned that the un-shaded deck area would be too hot to enjoy. I imagine it gets hot during the late AM/early PM, however, since we explored LA during the day and returned in the late afternoon, it was comfortable to sit out on the deck and enjoy a cocktail and relax. There is also a dining table and seating for 4 on the deck that is not clear from the photos at the time of this review. The owner’s representatives, Rowena & Douglas were great to deal with and our security deposit was refunded within 48 hours of check out. Douglas met us upon arrival to show us around the house, explain the parking/garage space and the elevator access. I can’t imagine staying in a stuffy over-priced hotel room when you can choose this unique home and experience what it would feel like to live in the legendary Hollywood Hills. If our travels ever bring us back to LA, I would rent here again.

  We found this spot after a thorough search of hotels in the area - this place made our family vacation much better and allowed us to have separate space!! Large deck and tremendous views. Rowena and Douglas were super easy to deal with and very friendly / helpful. Great value !!

  My family of 5 spent six days at this house and it could not have been a better experience. The view is incredible and it is a short walk down to Hollywood Blvd for shopping and fun. The amazing thing about this house is although it is close to everything, it feels like you are separate from the noise/city at night. Up in the hills, in a very safe/friendly neighborhood - it felt like a nice suburb where my family walked around day and night. It was great to work with the owners Sean and Lucy and their representative handled all the details like a true professional. My family was greeted at the front door and provided all details, along with a tour of the house and neighborhood information. Traveling with 3 small children can be challenging, but the house proved to be exactly what we needed. Short drives to Santa Monica Pier, Malibu, Paramount Studios, Universal Studios, Beverly Hills, etc - we were in the heart of it all. Very clean house that is well maintained. The owners and their team are fantastic to work with.

  I was drawn to the High Tower Hideaway on VRBO because of the unique features of the property and the great location. The positve reviews convinced us to move forward and we found Rowena to be responsive and flexible. Upon arrival we were greeted by Douglas who explained the property to us and gave us some reccommendations of things to do to help us to have a "local' experience instead of just a tourist experience. We truely enjoyed our stay and would highly reccommend the property to others who are looking for a quiet locale. I could see how handling the elevator and/or stairs and smallness of the unit could be slightly arduous for someone who is not expecting it, so just be aware.

  I live in the neighborhood, so I already knew the location would be awesome for my visitng famly. It was a perfect place for them to stay and for all of us to spend time together, take in the AMAZING views while we BBQd on the huge deck just outside the historic Hightower Elevator overlooking the city from downtown to the ocean. The Hightower Hideaway was well appointed with the essentials. Perfect for loading up the fridge, and dining al fresco, and making yourself at home. Douglas and Rowena were also a delight, and made all of the arrangements super easy. I would definately use the Hightower Hideaway for my family again... and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable place to stay in the heart of Hollywood.

  Awesome location! This is a really convenient place to stay, has a ton of character and the best view in the city. High Tower offered us a more normal existence with a kitchen, living room and a large deck with a beautiful view. It's way more like a home away from home and prefer this to a hotel any day.

  My wife and I plus our two teenage daughters were looking for somewhere to stay in the Hollywood area during a recent visit. The pictures and location shown on the VRBO site looked promising so we decided to give it a try. We were very surprised. Hightower Hideaway was one of the best parts of our stay. We actually looked forward to getting back at the end of each day’s activities. The accommodations were simple and modern. The patio area will take your breath away. The views, both night and day, were great. The location was central to many activities and if you are going to the Hollywood Bowl this is your place to stay. It is right next door but the hills shield the sound. Rowena and her husband who met us with the keys were very nice and helpful and made us feel like they were welcoming us home. I don’t believe you will be disappointed in any way if you rent this accommodation.
