Perfect spot for a family summer vacation

We have been to Del Mar before, but this was the first time we rented a home. We have 2 children (5 and 7) and we wanted a place close to the beach. This cottage was perfect for the 4 of us. We were able to walk to the beach, the racetrack, the park, and the shops and restaurants. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Although it was a duplex, we had no issues with the other families renting the other unit. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place in the San Diego area. Hopefully, we will be back soon!

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children.

We loved the cottage in Del Mar

My family and I traveled to San Diego first week in Sept 2011. After spending weeks looking for the perfect place in Del Mar, we find this lovely cottage. We were traveling to San Diego to visit family and this was the perfect location. My daughter (1.5 yrs old) loved having a backyard and playing in the grass. The beach was a perfect location, quick walk across the road, wagons and toys help for entertainment. Everything we needed was available, we cooked and hosted lunch for my family. If you are looking for a place, please consider the 2 available cottages. You won't be disappointed. Just one "con" - the beds need a little fixing up, they made a lot of noise when you moved. this was a problem keeping my daughter asleep.

Owner response:Thank you for the kind review. First I had heard of a noisy bed. I investigated and found that the bed frames and headboards on the twin beds needed tightening. Everything is tightened up for our next guests. Thanks, Bill

Perfect In Every Way...

I am so happy I chose this rental for a much needed vacation for my daughter (4) and myself. It was perfect for our escape out of Arizona's heat, and was ideally situated close to the beach (short walk - maybe 4 minutes), Downtown Del Mar, and the freeway. The sand toys thrilled my daughter, and the decor was like something out of a magazine! We especially loved being able to BBQ in the evenings, and LOVED having a bit of grass to play on. Megan was a star when I was having problems with the DVD, and was over in a heartbeat to help. Thank you to the Morgan's for their graciousness and good taste!

Great Beach Cottage

Anytime we stay in Del Mar we stay at the 26th Street Beach Cottage. Its a perfect location for our family. The house is maintain, clean and has all we need for our vacation at the beach.

My family and I recently returned from this property and we had the best family vacation ever! The location is perfect for frequent trips to the beach with young children and the house was very well maintained. It was so nice to have a kitchen, garage, and washer/dryer and our girls loved playing in the yard. The owners even came to take the trash out for us and were very professional to work with. We hope to return very soon and would recommend this property to anyone.

We stayed in the cottage over Christmas and had a delightful time. The kitchen was a wonderful place to bake Christmas cookies, and the living room provided ample room for a Lego building party for my son and his cousins. The cottage is impeccably maintained and close to a wide range of restaurants and attractions. We will definitely be back!

Adorable Del Mar Beach Cottage

Our family stayed in the cottage over Thanksgiving week. We had a wonderful time! The cottage was absolutely perfect for our family. It is just a short walk (3 minutes) to Del Mar Beach. It is also walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. It was very clean and had adorable decor. We will definitely come back and stay here again. We would reccomend this place to anyone travelling to Del Mar.

My 3 children and I had a WONERFUL time in your cottage! The location was perfect, we love Del Mar as it is, and finding this great place to stay made all that better! We enjoyed the quick walk to the beach, the convienent wagon that was made available to us, and the decor was adorable and cozy! It was a very clean unit, and easy to keep up. The only request I would have is to update the cookware, as the pots and pans were rusty, there wasn't a large selection of sizes for cooking, and utensils were sparse. We liked the convienence of being able to cook there, but it was a bit challenging without the proper supplies. We will definately rent with you again, it was truly the perfect location for our end of summer vacation!
