  This was our first visit to St. John. We were a group of 4 friends. We're frequent travelers, have rented villas around the world and the Cliffhanger has to be by far our favorite to date. The villa is beautiful, clean, well equipped and in a perfect location. We loved Coral Bay. We are already planning our trip back. We highly recommend the Cliffhanger. Thanks to Denise and Jared for making this one of our most relaxing and stress free vacations.

  I rented Cliffhanger to host a group of working writers for a 10-day stay and it was perfect. The views off the deck stretch across the harbor and out to sea, they go on forever. House is spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and the stone stairs down to the water made it easy to go for a morning swim everyday. The owner is lovely to work with and the House Manager was attentive and responded right away to every request. The house is walking distance to Shipwreck Landing, a great Coral Bay pub, and the small rocky beach right next to it. My guests found it the perfect quiet place to write, they didnt want to leave! I have rented houses all over the island for the past 20 years and this one is definitely a winner, we will be renting Cliffhanger again!

  Finally, a vacation villa that is better than the pictures, way better! What I love about this place is that it is perfect for all types of getaways- romantic vacation for two, couples, and families. There are 3 bedrooms, each with a private bath and a fourth bathroom in the kitchen and livingroom area. The whole house is professionally decorated, that it gives you a home away from home feeling. Sometimes we like to cook and the kitchen is the nicest we have had in any villa. As for the views, simply breathtaking. Morning coffee on the deck was a treat every day. Grilling on the deck was another treat when we took a break from going out to eat. You can spend your whole time at the villa, but if you must venture out, retaurants and beautiful private beaches are nearby in both directions. Whether you want activities or just want to relax, Coral Bay is the right place. This villa even has the best island music selection you will ever see. I will be back, hopefully sooner than later.

  Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

  My husband and I traveled 24 hours from the west coast to celebrate our 30th anniversary at this beautiful home, and it could not have been more perfect. We had the pleasure of having it for 2 weeks, so we had time to wind down to island living and completely enjoy. This home was every bit of what we hoped for and more than we expected. They've provided all the comforts you can imagine from the kitchen to the beautiful walk in showers, the bar on the deck, the comfortable furniture, coolers and beach chairs to take to the beach, cd's of island music to play on the ihome. You name it, it had it. We stopped at the store to stock the frig, that was it. - The caretaker of the home was great as well. Just a phone call away if we needed anything.He had done a beautiful job on steps down to the beach. It is a rocky beach, so take your water shoes. Every beach on the island is perfect and the snorkeling was fantastic! And don't forget to hike Rams Head, Reef Bay trail and Johnny Horn trail! The views are spectacular!! Again, we could not have asked for a better location and can't wait to go back!

The path down to the water was the latest of our property renovations. There is nothing like relaxing on a chair down near the water after a hard day of exploring all that St. John has to offer. The island has many different hiking trails to choose from with varying difficulty levels. There is something right for everyone. Ram's Head is one of our favorites, too. What better way to cool off after a wonderful hike then a swim at Salt Pond Beach. Happy Anniversary! We look forward to you coming back and staying with us again!

  Our stay at Cliffhanger was beyond belief! The description of the house was right on. The home and setting are gorgeous! You walk into the home and face Coral Bay straight ahead. You are surrounded by beautiful vistas of the bay and surrounding mountains and horizons from every window.. The house is immaculate and very comfortable and stylishly decorated. Everything is designed for your ease and comfort. Quaint little touches like the red hummingbird feeder and hammock add a homey touch. The central location is perfect for excursions to south and also north beaches and just minutes away from Coral Bay restaurants. I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone who loves a gorgeous house in a gorgeous setting and location. We divided our meals by grilling in on some nights or other nights went to all the excellent Coral Bay restaurants. Denise, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful in answering any questions. I'm ready to go back.

  The villa was amazing! We spent about 50% of our waking hours sitting on the deck...we all loved it! I took about 100 pictures from the deck of clouds, rainbows, sunrise, sunset, the Coral Bay Thanksgiving Regatta and iguanas hanging out in the trees next door. The last night we laid out on deck chairs and watched the moon and stars. We even saw the moons of Jupiter through the telescope. The house had everything we needed and more. It was so great that we cooked most of our meals right there. The sound system came complete with 15 or so CDs of island music. I think we listened to all of them...I am trying to re-create the experience with Bob Marley Radio on Pandora right now! The owners were wonderful and the on-island property manager was very available if we needed anything. Beaches and restaurants in close proximity. We will certainly be back!

  This was a beautiful house with a beautiful view. The views were absolutely breathtaking. Everything was perfect, the house, the walkways, the decks, the hammock, the parking spot (that may sound funny, but a parking spot on an island is very important!) and it was very private. Every detail was thought of. From coolers and chairs for the beach, to candles and an ipod docking station for stargazing from the deck. The house was set up perfectly for a family vacation. I loved that the bedrooms were downstairs and each had their own bathrooms, separate from the master bedroom on the main floor, it gave everyone privacy. Everything was fresh, clean and beautifully decorated. The property owner and the property manager were great to work with. They really cared about our vacation and kept in touch with us before, during and after our trip to make sure we had an enjoyable visit. I would definitely recommend this home. It is not really suited for families with small children due to the stairs and the separation of the bedrooms, but it is perfect for a family with older children or for 2-3 couples where you would enjoy the privacy of separated bedrooms. The kitchen was fabulous. With 6 of us, we were able to have family dinners each night with enough space for us all to be in there together preparing and cooking (or lounging in front of the TV) and not be right on top of eachother. It had every kitchen gadget that you would ever need. The island was great for preparing lunch for the days adventure. I could lay out all the bread and make 6 sandwiches all at once! We went snokeling almost every day and went to almost every beach from Honeymoon bay to Waterlemon. We even rented boats from the Westin Resort and spent a day hopping along the coastline stopping at different places. St, John is so beautiful!! This was our third trip to St John/St Thomas and we can't wait to come back again, and when we do we will be staying at Cliffhanger!

  Cliffhanger is an amazing Villa in Coral Bay. Everything and more that you could need for a relaxing and fun family vaction week. The villa was exceptionally clean, bright and beautiful. The view of Coral Bay from the decks and every room is stunning. Having three private Master Bedrooms worked perfectly for our adult family. Denise was so helpful in setting up the rental and providing us with so much information about the island. Jared was helpful and available when we called.(Thanks) The island is so beautiful with it's North Shore beaches, and remote areas to get away and feel as though you are on a seculded island. We found Maho Bay to be the best Chill Beach! The snorkeling was amazing, especially the swim to Waterlemon Cay. The restaurants have a great island feel offering outdoor dininning. Our favorite was Aqua Bistro. The vacation was perfect and the Villa was more than perfect. We would suggest staying longer than one week, because there are so many beautiful beaches and trails that we couldn't fit into our week. We would love to return to Cliffhanger and share this amazing Villa with friends and family. Thanks Denise for sharing your home.

  Cliffhanger was a wonderful home! The views were gorgeous; we loved eating and reading on the deck while we listened to the ocean. The kitchen was well stocked with all the appliances we needed and everything in the house met or exceeded our expectations. Denise was so nice and helpful as well. She answered all our questions before we left and made wonderful suggestions regarding beaches and restaurants as well. I will definitely recommend Cliffhanger to all my friends and family!

  Our family of 5 just returned home after a wonderful week long stay at Cliffhanger! Beautifully situated on Coral Bay, the home hangs over the sea and affords gorgeous views of the East End of St John. The home is easily accessed from the road and offers a safe parking deck- something we realized was a huge convenience as the roads are narrow and twisty and many homes only offer "side of the road" parking. Yikes!! The home is comfortably furnished and outfitted with everything you'll need for a family stay. The kitchen is beautiful, the beds are comfortable and the air conditioned bedrooms were a heavenly treat after a full day of snorkeling and swimming. We did wish the main living area was air conditioned to provide a cool place for the family to gather. There are many great snorkeling spots within a short drive from the house. The sandy beaches of Cinnamon Bay, Trunk Bay, Hawksnest are a bit further but the drive is gorgeous as much of this island is a National Park. We'd recommend this house for families with older children as the two downstairs bedrooms cannot be accessed from the upper floor- no interior staircase. We are already planning our next trip and would return to Cliffhanger in a heartbeat! To save yourself some time and hassle, have the property manager, Jared, provision the home for you. We brought our meats/fish/lunchmeat with us in a cooler and were glad we did. Like any small island, grocery store selection is limited and prices are very high.

We were thrilled that our recent renovation allowed us to add a parking pad, knowing it would be alot safer and easier for our guests to get in and out. We do feel that the exterior staircase offers a nice way for older children or several couples traveling together to have their own space. They can gather in front of their rooms on the shaded deck or go upstairs and join others in the family room or on the upper decks.
