Riverside Mountain Getaway is a three-story, 1100 sq. foot, beautiful home overlooking the Rocky Broad River (unfinished basement). The home is located about 35 minutes southeast of Asheville, North Carolina and about 10 minutes north of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, North Carolina off of HWY 9.

Guests find much needed relaxation sitting on our porch or on the "big rock". Children and grown ups enjoy the Rocky Broad River's little rapids and wading area. Soak up the sun or read your favorite book and allow the stress of everyday life to fade away.

You will find all the comforts of home in our cozy, warm, living room with satellite TV/DVD (over 500 channels), gas fireplace, dining room and fully-equipped, modern kitchen on the main floor. An intimate bedroom with an attached bathroom and shower open off the living room. Be sure to take a look at our pictures!

A second master suite hosting a king size bed and sofa/futon is located upstairs. Enjoy listening to the river, reading your favorite book or watching our satellite TV.

The master suite opens into a foyer where there is another sleeping area. A twin bed and dresser are in the upstairs foyer. A second, large bathroom with tub and shower open off of the foyer.

An extra queen-size air mattress and a second twin mattress are available for extra sleeping.

While staying at the mountain home, sun yourself on the big rock or "rock hop" in the river. Float down the rapids to the big bridge. Maybe you like to fish? We have fishing poles here!   • This was the perfect get-away for our family with four children and a dog. If you want quiet and privacy, but want to be driving distance to town, this is it. We felt welcome with our kids and dog (bowls provided), and couldn't keep them out of the icy river (in April). We felt like we were hanging over the river while sitting on the porch, and wouldn't have minded sleeping there either. The weather was clear and pleasant in the day, and cooler at night. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. My husband can't believe you are willing to share.

  • With my busy schedule, I needed a place to just relax -- something I hadn't done in a long time. This beautiful mountain home with its wrap-around porch, surrounded by a soothing river and beautiful trees was the perfect place. I slept for hours with the breeze flowing across my face and I literally melt down when I'm there. I can feel the stress leave my mind, body and spirit. My creative juices flow and I get in touch with God in such a special way and just appreciate life anew. If you have a busy schedule and you have forgotten how to relax, I guarantee you will find that special serene place at this beautiful home in the mountains!! Once you go there, you will remember there is a place next to heaven you can escape to to get centered again until your next trip.

  • There is no more serene place that we have found on this earth than this beautiful home by the riverside. I am hearing impaired, yet for the first time in years, (as we sat on the deck) I was able to hear birds singing! I could also hear the river waters making their way down the mountainside and carrying leaves along with them as if they were little boats! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful place to be.
