  • Perfect Home for a perfect LA Vacation!

"My family and I stayed in this unique and beautiful home for a week's vacation in LA. Everything was just as advertised. There was clearly much love and thought put into the design and care of this home. It is beautifully appointed with everything we needed. There was plenty of space to cook, spread out and relax, with comfortable beds and linens and a great set-up for our family so each child could have his own room. We spent the mornings on the deck having the coffee left for us to enjoy while we overlooked the beautiful view. And we especially loved the Japanese bathroom and shower. The location was perfect allowing us to easily access all areas we visited while returning to a quiet, somewhat out-of-the-way neighborhood. A great way to enjoy the city but also feel like we could get away from it all and relax in the house. The owners were lovely to work with, provided very clear instructions and accommodated all of our needs. Thank you for the lovely gifts of wine and the book about Hollywood! We would absolutely recommend this house to anyone and look forward to returning for a future stay the next time we are in LA."

"What a great Bungalow on a very Beautiful safe street, next to everything. Was a last minute reservation and Ann made it so easy. We brought our little Shihtzu and she was in heaven. We were able to extend our stay by 2 nights simply because we were enjoying our stay. I was on Business trip and I will never stay in hotel when Vrbo is available. Ann we met your husband on our way out and he have us a history of the area. Again thank you for making our stay so pleasant and so easy. Everything, so close. By the way we did rent a few movies, so let us know what we owe? Thanks, Mark & Paul"

  • Girl's birthday trip

"I've been renting homes from VRBO for the past five years, both abroad and locally. This is the first time, I've chosen to write a review about our stay. Upon arrival to the house, which was a ways up a "no outlet" canyon, I was quite excited about the secluded area; close to everything but tucked away for privacy. I parked in the driveway as the SUV I rented was too big to fit in the garage...not a problem. The house has a lot of stairs in order to get to the middle level for entry access (something to consider when hauling groceries). As I walked to the gate and descended, I was shocked as it was not indicated in the photograph nor by mention in conversation that construction on the adjacent property was underway. The neighboring project dwarfed the home we'd rented, with scaffolding hovering over the pool area. As it was a Sunday, there was no activity and other than a neighbor's barking dog, it was relatively quiet. Next day construction began at 7:45 am, with a rude awakening to a cacophony of noise and workmen. The unexpected view was intrusive enough but we couldn't imagine sharing a week of our vacation accompanied by continuous interruptions. That's when Leah, the property manager came into the picture. I called her and explained the situation...cell service is bad in the house FYI. She gave us several options to stay or to check out early, after she'd contacted the owner. She was extremely responsive and handled everything so professionally. We decided to give it a day, via her suggestion to see how things go and ended up staying for the week! The workers, knowing we were there on vacation, still came early to start but kept noise down to a minimum and stopped working around 4:30 each day. The location of the house was great for hiking. The house was very warm during the day but cooled off for sleeping at night. We avoided construction by sight-seeing and shopping until dinner time. Came home to a nice kitchen for dine in meals when we didn't want to eat out. Had cocktails in the open atrium. Leah checked on us and made sure we were happy. I'd have to say, if my exchange with her had been poorly handled, I would have left that first day and given this property a very bad review. Too often a person's efforts is overshadowed by a circumstance outside of their control, I wanted to write this review for Leah. Because of her, we ended up staying and enjoying a fantastic week of fun in Hollywood hills!"
