This listing is new and a good bargain! HUGE en suite private room! It has its own private entrance, automatic gate, a nice size lanai (patio), full bathroom, walk-in closet, HDTV, AppleTV (Netflix, etc.), wifi, wet bar, microwave, coffee maker, and other important essentials. Our place is very private, fully fenced, and has a fairy garden that you are welcome to explore. Our family lives upstairs. Thing to consider before booking: we are early risers, I wake up 5:45am, feed the dogs and off to work at 6:45am, in between this time you hear minimal dog footsteps upstairs.
We are a working family, I am a elementary school teacher and my husband is retired US Navy still working for the Department of Defense. Guest interaction is limited due to our busy schedule but we will make sure to meet your needs.
Guest are welcome to explore our 1.2 acre property and the many beautiful flowers, plants, and trees throughout. There is a keypad at the entry gate and guests may use the provided entry gate remote during their stay. The private room entry door has a combination deadbolt. Guest WiFi is included.
Other things to consider: We are early risers, I usually wakes up 5:45am and off to work 6:45 am Monday to Friday. In between these times there's potential domestic noise as we prepare our day.
*WE DO NOT PROVIDE BREAKFAST*

Far from the Crowds
We stayed here for 9 nights so by the time we left it felt like home. Diwa and Dan were great considerate hosts and anything we asked for was taken care of immediately. It is located away from noisy towns with their traffic so if you have trouble sleeping this is the place to go. Do set the alarm for 4 in the morning though if you know it is going to be a clear night because the vision of the stars will be an experience you will remember for the rest of your life! I would return for that reason alone!
There are some good restaurants nearby, the volcano is ten minutes max up the road and there are convenience stores for those things you ran out of or forgot. You will most likely have rented a car for your holiday so the location is not a concern. In the cities you will pay more, have more noise and your space will be much smaller. We highly recommend this suite for your stay! Thanks Diwa and Dan
We spent one night in this large, very clean and attractive studio. We mistakenly arrived a bit early while they were still getting the room ready - the check-in time of 4 pm is noted on the website but I didn't notice or remember it, and I don't think it was included in the confirmation emails - but Diwa was very gracious and let us come in out of the rain. As described, the kitchen facilities are a bit limited - there is a sink in one corner, a small fridge in another, and a microwave and coffeemaker in a third. No pots and pans are provided, just dishware, glasses, and flatware. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well-supplied with nice products and towels. A note in the bathroom requested that baths not be taken because of the limited water supply. (There is no town-provided water; they are entirely dependent on collected rainwater.) One more note - the bathtub (which is also the shower) has high walls and could be a problem for some people to climb into. As the description also says, the family gets up early and we did hear their movements and voices, so if you are a light sleeper this might not be the best option for you. We didn't have a chance to explore the grounds which looked lovely. All in all, a good value and a comfortable place to stay, but be aware of the fine print - despite being called a Bed and Breakfast, no breakfast is provided for one-night visitors.
We felt this place was perfect. Very reasonable price!! Before we got there, Diwa was so easy to communicate with. She gave us very clear instructions on how to self enter and help if we needed it.
On arrival, self entry worked just as described. The room was huge! It was also VERY, VERY clean! I have a very sensitive nose and there were no funky smells. Lots of cute plants, some bottled water and Mac Nuts too! A microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, dishes, utensils, glasses, coffee cups were all right there.
There was a HUGE soaker tub! I wish I would have taken advantage of it, but we were pretty tuckered out. The bathroom was clean, clean, clean!
A nice sized TV with cable and Apple TV worked just fine. Free WIFI too!
We got to meet Diwa when she got home. She was super sweet and just checked to make sure everything was OK.
I thought the bed was super comfortable, clean and the sheets were really soft and cuddly.
There was an electric heater available in the big room and the bathroom, but we didn't need it. The room was very cozy and warm. Tons of windows let in a bunch of light. A quaint dining area to top things off.
This rental is very, very close to the volcano National Park and the little "village" with shops and restaurants available.
There was a designated parking spot within the fenced in property. This made us feel real safe and secure!!
We are local residents of Waimea (2 hrs away) so we didn't need much help with things to do etc, but there was literature on the desk of things to do that would really help tourists. I have no doubt that Diwa would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
My husband said the place was "awesome" and if we have a need to stay on that side of the island again, he hopes this place will be available!!
Thank you for your kind review Suzie :)really appreciate it. Hope to host you again :)
What a hidden gem! Very spacious, clean, and most of all our hosts were so accommodating. It was so beautiful to wake in the morning to a tropical view of their garden. Nice to visit with our hosts. Highly recommend this tranquil and relaxing place.
