About Kathleen McCorvie

This is our only home in the Smoky Mountains. We love it, but live in the burbs of Orlando, Florida, so can't get there as often as we would like. Kathleen has put a lot of herself into our beautiful home and most renters comment on how beautifully furnished and decorated it is. It is the last home on the mountain lane, so it is private and peaceful with no other nearby homes to obstruct the mountain view from the deck.

Kathleen McCorvie purchased this house in 2006

Why Kathleen McCorvie chose Maggie Valley

We visited Maggie Valley for the first time in 2006 and bought our home a few months later. We love the unpretentiousness of Maggie and find it a place we can truly relax. The location is central to many activities.

What makes this house unique

We like hiking the mountain lanes around our home. Just a short hike down the mountain leads to a small waterfall. The gurgling sound can be heard from porches.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time staying in your cabin. It is so beautiful and i n one of the prettiest spots we saw up there. Watching the full moon rise while sitting in the hot tub was like heaven. We all agreed we would definitely go there again.

Very private!

Great location, easy access, lots of fun things to do in the area with plenty of North Carolina BBQ! Cabin and Hot Tub were very clean. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves!

Great place in Maggie Valley

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! Two couples, 2 bedrooms, it was great. The hot tub had a really nice view and we used it each night we were there--we stayed Thursday through Sunday in early November. The place was clean and had all of the dishes/glasses, linens, coffee machine, etc that we needed, and the only things we needed to bring were food and towels for the hot tub. It was too warm/early to have snowed, but I wonder if the (all paved) roads would be passable with snow cover--a few of the access roads are pretty steep. Loved our view, and we will likely stay here if we return to Maggie Valley. Was refunded our security deposit promptly as well, thanks!

Lovely home

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time and loved the home. Beds are comfortable, internet works well, we had all the kitchen tools we needed, and it was a nice setup for our family (2 adults and 2 young kids). The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 was the checkout. The checkout time is 10 am, and you are expected to do a load of towels (wash and dry), strip beds, and clean all dishes and put them away. You also must take all trash offsite yourself or pay per bag for them to dispose of it. We have stayed at many homeaways, and this is the earliest checkout time we have seen with the most extensive chore list. Most places we have been to ask for dishwasher to be loaded and started, and maybe a load of towels to be in wash or something, but this was a lot to do before 10 am, in addition to loading up all of our things and all. We had noticed several very dirty dishes in the cabinets when we arrived and we now suspect people are not able to get the dishes finished in time so they just put them away dirty.

We did have to call the owners, and she was so nice and accommodating. I know many reviews talk about the steep driveway, which is true, but it wasn't an issue for us. It also appears to be quite common for the area if you want any sort of view.

Owner's Response: We take the comments of our guests quite seriously and appreciate your honest comments about having difficulty exiting by the Check-Out time. We are sympathetic and will make the change immediately to allow another hour in the morning. Check-Out time will be moved back to 11 am and Check-In will now be 4 pm. Hopefully, this will please future guests! Sincerely, Kathleen and Terry McCorvie 407-408-7996

Comfy cabin with beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Ultimate Treehouse! The house was very comfortable and well-appointed. We enjoyed the convenience of being close to Waynesville for dining, the Blue Ridge Parkway for the most beautiful drive ever, and Asheville for all the activities. A lovely place to stage your mountain getaway!

Absolutely GORGEOUS cabin

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 glorious nights at the Ultimate Treehouse and it did not disappoint. The views on the porch were astounding and just what we were looking for <3 The owners were quick to respond and the cabin was very well equipped. Our grandson who attends Western Carolina was able to spend those nights with us, we went to Asheville, Harrah's in Cherokee and enjoyed a quick trip on the Blueridge Parkway...with all in close proximity! The firepit was one thing we really, really searched for along with a great mountain view and the Ultimate Treehouse was all that and then some. We really, really enjoyed our little getaway.
