Overview

About the property

The location of this building is unmatched.

This modernized apartment in a 300 year old building is located in the heart of the French Quarter. With two queen beds the apartment is perfect for two couples or a small family. Original floors, exposed beams, and brick walls, as well as a plasma screen, new AC and a rain shower, create a perfect combination of old and new. Charleston is filled with art, culture, and amazing food! and the community graciously embraces people from all over the world. We’re located on the same street as the Dock Street Theater and Foot Light Players Theater, as well as a number of restaurants and galleries. A few blocks from East Bay Street and the waterfront, everything is within walking distance including local Museums, in fact you do not need a car. The location of this building is unmatched. The apartment is on the second floor but is the only residential unit in the quiet building.

Why The Owner chose Historic Old City

Well, I'm bias, but it's a little piece of magic in Charleston.

What makes this apartment unique

You can walk everywhere! In fact we recommend not having a car and just taking an Uber from the airport and once downtown just using a bike taxi, water taxi, or free city bus to get around.

A Little Piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

So where does one begin; first if you are fortunate enough to visit Charleston and then lucky enough to secure a stay at this VRBO, then may I welcome you to a "little piece of heaven". The location is just off the beaten path on a quiet street in the middle of everything. Forget the car, because you won't need one. With UBER and your walking shoes you are right in the thick of it. Wonderful restaurants, beautiful architecture, glorious history, scenic waterfront, shops galore, and then there are the art galleries, all just outside your door literally.

Everything is updated, clean, comfortable and well worth the money. I highly recommend it and certainly hope to be lucky enough to enjoy what I believe is a "little piece of heaven" again. My hats off to the owners who are just down to earth people and wonderful hosts.

Industrial chic apartment in an art gallery great location

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a two bedroom property for us and two young kids for a vacation in Charleston. The description was not totally clear but we were thrilled to learn that the apartment is upstairs in an art gallery. Our kids loved meeting the artists whose studios are in the gallery and viewing the art after hours. There is not much arrival info or departure instructions. Make sure to arrive at the apartment before the arc Alary closes because he will need to get the keys from the proprietors of the art gallery. You can park in front of the gallery usually for about an hour to unload that will need to find a parking space and either a paper on for free parking along the battery, about a 10 minute walk from the apartment. Make sure to park on the water side of E. Bay St. at the battery. We did not need a car for our entire stay because the apartment is located centrally to all of the attractions that we wanted to do that. We were able to walk down to South of Broad Street as well as up to the market and all the way up and down King Street. It is also one block from waterfront Park where we were able to enjoy the fountains and you dolphins from pier. The apartment is very well-equipped with anything that you might need during your stay. Just don’t expect a range stove or a large refrigerator. They had plenty of information about the city and everything from hair dryers and curling irons to commonly needed medicines. We were grateful to have use of the supplies. One note, Because all the rooms are well with glass windows, if you were bothered by light and want to go to bed early, you may have an issue going to sleep if someone is awake. It wasn’t too much of a problem for us. We enjoyed our stay there early and would definitely recommend it to others and come back ourselves.
