Make your reservations now for The Beulah Chalet - modeled after a chalet in Zug, Switzerland. The WiFi and Phone equipped Chalet features a brand new kitchen with custom cabinets, granite countertops, new refrigerator, gas stove/oven, over-the-stove microwave, built in hutch, and kitchen table/chairs. It has wood beamed ceilings, paneled walls on the main floor, three balconies, and a fireplace as the centerpiece of the family room. The Chalet is the perfect place for your summer or winter Northern Michigan getaway!

The Beulah Chalet has room enough for a multi-family vacation, sleeping 6 in three bedrooms with queen size beds and 2 more in the first floor apartment equipped with a trundle bed, and as many as six more in the built in bunk beds. One of three full bathrooms with shower or shower/tub is located on each floor.

The fully equipped eat-in kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, as well as ample pots, pans, and cookware gadgets will satisfy any gourmet chef. The dining room table provides seating for 6 - 8, and the kitchen seats 4. Two full size Weber grills with charcoal, lighter, and tools are ready to prepare the feast that doesn't belong in the oven. The pantry is stocked with spices, seasonings, oils and vinegars as well as all the other things you'll need to make your favorite meals. There is a crock pot, blender, toaster, and coffee pot in the kitchen.

All linens, towels, and paper products are included in your rental. You will find high count sheets on all beds, plenty of sleeping pillows, and all paper products including paper towels, toilet tissue, Kleenex, and napkins. Soap and shampoo are in the three bathrooms.

A huge raised deck overlooks a beautiful meadow - deer and turkey can often be seen, and the bird feeder (seed provided) invites lots of birds. The family room with fireplace and upstairs sitting area provide a relaxing place to read, watch HD TV, and visit. The kids will love the built in bunk beds in the 'bunk room' as well as the bunk beds built around the chimney on the third floor. An outdoor fire pit in the back yard is perfect for star gazing and making S'mores!

The Beulah Chalet is one block North of Crystal Lake, 2 ½ miles South of the Big Platte Lake, 6 minutes to downtown Beulah, 10 Minutes to Lake Michigan, and 20 minutes to Frankfort. Sleeping Bear Dunes is an easy 20 minute drive North. Several vineyards and wineries are within an easy drive. The Crystal Mountain Ski and Golf resort is 20 minutes away. About Chris

We started fishing for Steelhead and Salmon over 25 years ago and fell in love with the Northwest corner of Michigan for fishing and for family trips to see the colors in the fall. Our family and friends have come to love the Chalet as the perfect get away for any season. I hope you will, too.

Chris purchased this house in 2005

Why Chris chose Beulah

The Chalet is located in the middle of where you want to be when you travel to Northwest Michigan. It's a block off Crystal Lake, it's 6 minutes to Beulah, 15 minutes to Lake Michigan, 20 minutes to Crystal Mountain, 25 minutes to Sleeping Bear Dunes and the great towns on Leelenau Peninsula, and 40 minutes to Traverse City. Two fishing and canoeing rivers, the Platte and the Betzie, are very close. Frankfort has an A&W, a family favorite, and many other attractions.

What makes this house unique

The Chalet has lots of room and the comforts of your own home to spread out for a very relaxing vacation. It's well equiped with all the kitchen and grilling supplies you need to craft a gourmet dinner or a casual meal. The large deck overlooks a beautiful meadow - if you're lucky the deer and turkeys will pay you a visit!

Just what we expected

Enjoyed our stay very much. The space accommodated our 11 member family very comfortably. Love the central location with easy access to Frankfort, Beulah, Honor and the Platte River - Sleeping Bear corridor.

Wonderful house for big group

  • 5 of 5

We were an extended family group of 9 persons aged from 17 to 60+ staying for a week in the Swiss Chalet in July 2018. This rental property really feels like home: It is very clean, nicely and comfortably furnished and has everything you would want for a summer week: bedding, towels, beach towels, beach bags and chairs, books, games, spices and cooking oils in the kitchen, toiletries in every bathroom, you name it.

We ate in a few evenings, cooking in the well equipped kitchen or grilling on the deck which was lovely. Even though we were a big group it never felt crowded. There were still empty beds and it would not have been a problem add more persons. Having 3 bathrooms was a big plus! Actually there was also 2 kitchens, but we only used the main one. The beds and the bedding was comfortable and everyone slept well, even the young adults who were in bunks.

We enjoyed the quiet mornings on the deck and saw deer, an owl and lots of other birds.

The location is good, 8 min drive to Beulah, walking distance down to Crystal Lake, close to Platte river and Platte lake as well as Lake Michigan and Frankfort.

Chris the owner was easy to work with, responded quickly and was helpful.

In short we really enjoyed our stay and will book again next time we have a family reunion in the area!

A perfect place for everything

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice home and easily accommodates 14 guests with comfort. Everything is very clean and up to date. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking supplies and food basics like spices, oils, etc. The bathrooms were also very; clean and in great shape - the plumbing delivers a hearty shower even up to the top floor. The beds were extremely comfortable and we felt very at home for the week we stayed. We would definitely stay here again.

Best Value for the Area!

  • 4 of 5

My family of 6 adults and 6 almost full grown grandchildren enjoyed our stay. The house has lots of room and amenities to keep most everyone comfortable. Some of my grandchildren, who are the size of the adults, found the beds to be too small. All of the adults found the queen beds to be very comfortable. One daughter even commented that the sheets smelled the freshest of any place we had stayed!

The owner supplied all the towels, soap, toilet paper, and paper towels you could ever need, unlike many locations who give you a "starter" pack. The fully equipped kitchen was a plus, especially the dishwasher. We did miss having a garbage disposal, but I know many on a septic system don't like to use them.

The primary negative was the very strong musty smell from the garage and a less musty odor in the lower level. Opening windows alleviated that to a great extent.

Our family especially enjoyed visiting sleeping Bears Dunes and the Frankfort Beach. We also did a trip to Traverse City.
