Cozy family owned vacation cabin south of Brinnon on Hood Canal. Comfortable A-frame cabin set in the trees with stairs to 100 feet of waterfront. Only 1 1/2 hours from Seattle.
Great deck with views of Hood Canal. 2 kayaks, hammock, barbeque, books, games. Take advantage of the many hikes in the Olympics, Duckabush and Dosewallips Rivers, boating, clamming, bird watching, fishing, scuba diving...Beautiful in Summer or Winter. Warm up next to the woodstove or just sit on the heated deck and watch eagles, sea lions and otters play in beautiful Hood Canal!
"...an amazing time! Your house is cozy and bright and the view is stunning., We'll be back soon! I don't remember the last time I got to kayak with oodles of seal and jelllyfish, lost of king fishers and eagles too. Very Cool!"
We enjoyed our weekend getaway to the Hood Canal, and especially enjoyed the beautiful view from this cabin! We were able to go kayaking twice (with otters and seals!), spend time on the patio during the day, and keep warm by the wood stove at night. Our only negative was that the bed was very uncomfortable. My husband tried sleeping on the futon, but that needs to be replaced too. Overall though, a wonderful stay and we hope to be back!
We felt the cabin was perfectly located for trips into Olympia or up to Port Angeles or Olympic National Park. It was a nice retreat at the end of the day--build a fire, put on the radio, grill some fish and just RELAX! The cabin is not "fancy" but very comfortable. We actually slept up in the loft because the view from up there out the large glass windows was so beautiful. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who loves nature and likes to get away from the crowds.
4 of us had a great time at this cabin. As often happens, we lucked out with good weather in Brinnon and enjoyed getting oysters off the beach, sitting on the deck under the heat lamp, playing games by the awesome wood stove, and cooking. The cabin is minimalist but very cozy and has a great view. This is my second time staying here and I'm sure we'll be back. Thanks!
Had a great time despite the rain. Very comfortable cabin and spectacular view. Loved all the nearby hikes. Will be back
If you're looking for a stay in a cabin filled with designer touches, high end kitchen finishes and all the newest bells and whistles... then this isn't the cabin for you. But if you are looking for clean, cozy, comfortable, quiet and relaxing, then you'll be very happy. Situated between Hoodsport and Brinnon, you will be far away to feel completely disconnected from the grind, but close enough if you can't stop thinking about the Bourbon Chipotle butter at the Hama Hama Oyster Saloon.
Beds are cozy and the sunrise that greets you in the morning somehow makes your coffee taste even better. While not necessary, I 'd suggest:
•. TV that works. There is a teeny tiny old VCR/ TV combo, but no tapes. There's an old DVD player, but no remotes or DVDs, and and old Nintendo, but even my geek-guy-gamer husband couldn't get it to work. Either just doing away with it and advertising that there's no TV, or investing in a small flat screen TV/ DVD Combo with an USB port (for iPhone streaming.
We love the cabin. It was a great weekend with the wife and dogs. My only recommendation is to please replace the bed in the bedroom. Other than that, our rating would be a 5 for location, great views and overall accommodations. Casey and Henae
