You can't get much closer to the ocean, and this one is as close as it gets, the view is Awesome!! . People comment that they feel like they are on a boat !! Watch whales, turtles, dolphins, and surfers from your own private 400 square foot lanai only 20 feet off the ocean. Prepare meals as often or as little as you like in the fully-equipped kitchen, which includes a washer/dryer too. Take a dip in the ocean view swimming pool or relax in the Jacuzzi. This is the perfect location close to downtown Kona, as well as the Keauhou shopping center. Third floor unit ( yes there is an elevator)

Unit includes free wifi- free phone service-free covered assigned parking- all of the home and beach amenities you will need.

*******This is the only style unit in the building that has a private master suite. The bedrooms are part of the living room in the other units.

********Our lanai is three times larger than the rest of the units in the building. This wrap around feature also allows for the mountain to be viewed.

MOST OFTEN ASKED QUESTIONS: Are you near the beach ? We are located at Banyan Beach so the beach is right beside the building.There are also 4-5 pocket beaches in Kona. I would describe them as about 50 yards in length, some are white sand.Some are white sand and lava rock.

How close is the ocean to the unit ? If you were any closer you would be in a boat. Watch our video and you will see that Banyan Tree sits right on top of the ocean and this unit is located at the closest point to the ocean. We are at the closest point to the surfers.

I've been ripped off in Hawaii before, are you real ? I just got ripped off myself at a hotel in Pismo Beach, Ca. last summer so I understand where this is coming from. First off please read our reviews. They are totally controlled by Homeaway and are from actual guests. Why Don chose Kailua-Kona

I haven't seen anywhere in Hawaii that the ocean comes in like it does at Banyan Tree. The people in Kona are absolutely the friendliest people I have encountered on the islands with the feel of old Hawaii still intact. Kona is my favorite city in Hawaii and in the future Banyan Tree will be my next home.

What makes this condo unique

This is the only style unit in the building that has a private master suite. Rest of building the bedrooms are part of the living room. Our lanai is three times larger than the rest of the units in the building, not only giving more space but adding a view of the volcano overlooking Kona.

Banyan Tree is located in Kona on Alii Dr which is the main oceanfront road. The unit sits on the ocean side of the road and is located about 1.5 miles from the downtown shopping area. Banyan Tree Beach is located right at the building. Pocket beaches are located all along Alii Dr and some of the best snorkeling found in Hawaii. There is a small market across the street ( 9am-9pm) In the building next door is a convenience store, and a surf shop. (very small) Driving- downtown (5 minutes) airport-(15 minutes)

Assigned covered parking with other parking available. Pool on ocean side of building with Jacuzzi and two BBQ grills. This is direct ocean front on Alii Dr at Banyan Tree Beach. Plenty of great snorkel spots close by ( sorry we do not supply snorkel gear)

Great Condo and Location

If your looking to relax with the on top of the ocean , then you will love this place. ( The view is so much prettier in person than the photos show) Walking into the living room you feel like your walking onto the ocean. Clean rooms, very comfortable beds, full amenities, everything you would want for a place away from home. Not a large complex so it's never too busy at the pool or hot tub which are perfectly heated and maintained. Nice to return to our reserved parking spot.

It has a beautiful view being right on the water so enjoyed sunsets every night right from the lanai.

What a fantastic week we just had in this unit for the second time in five years!

Everything is exactly as described and the photos listed are a very accurate depiction of what you actually get. Look forward to our return.

Amazing location!

This was originally supposed to be for a family vacation and turned into a "honeymoon" vacation. The location was unreal. It felt like we were on a cruise ship with this view from the third floor. My husband paddled out right in front of the condo and I sat on the porch and watched him surf. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed although we opted to sleep on the pull-out couch and listen to the surf all night. The apartment is standard fare for Hawaii, very casual, beachy, and natural. We walked to the cove and watched the turtles. Awesome. Oh, and a must-do: Mantaray tour with Hang Loose. It was the best part of our trip!

Great place with breathtaking views of the ocean

Loved the floor to ceiling windows that gave an awesome view of the ocean and sunsets. We even saw sea turtles swimming from the comfort of our own private balcony. We had a great time cooking in the kitchen, fixing our own meals and watching the sunsets. Shopping is really close by too!

Overall comfy but noisy

We loved the location of the condo and the amazing view from the lanai. Our only complaints are: 1. Being right next to the public access made for constant talking, arguing, and barking late at night and early in the mornings, right outside our windows. And 2: Because there is no A/C, even with all the fans running on high and all the windows and doors open, it was still too hot to sleep. If the place had A/C, we could've kept all the doors and windows closed, which would have drowned out all the street noise AND kept us cool enough to sleep. Other than those 2 things, we really appreciated view, beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, and coolers!

Owner's Response: Next to the unit is private property , not public. It is owned by the Kona Bali Kai Condos next to our building. The rule we have together is when the sun goes does down everyone leaves. When I visit and people are quiet I ignore the rule. The locals there know being on the property is a privilege, not a right. On the instruction sheet I send, my phone number is listed with the statement call or text me if it is noisy. I call Kona Bali Kai security and have violators removed. I wish you would have called me. All the oceanfront units in Kona sit on Alii Dr. It is mostly quiet, but at times there is noise. It is one of the main roads in Kona. The past weeks are the most active and noisy due to all of the Ironman contestants and fans.

This property is in an ideal location. Close to a little store, underground parking great. Pool and

We enjoyed our visit, but the unit needs some TLC- dishes mismatched, beds covered with foam,-uncomfortable and hot. Little space in closets as owners belongings took up most of space. Air conditioning would be nice to have. However, the ocean view was spectacular.

Owner's Response: As requested by one of our regular guest, one bed in the master has a foam gel topper added to it. It costs 150.00 at Costco. It can easily be removed and set aside if needed. The gel doesn't absorb hot or cold, and conforms for support. The closets are full of our stuff, the stuff we share with our guests like beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, coolers, etc. Its impossible to keep all of the dishes constantly matched. Guest break them, loose them, etc. The exact matches are gone from the store shelves. There are some fancier dishes if required, there are plastic dishes for the kids so they don't break. There are nice wine glasses, there are plastic cups. Just like our house. Imagine you fall asleep on a tropical beach listening to crashing waves, that's our unit. If you were any closer to the water you would need a boat .If the doors are left open, the unit airs out. Cool breezes come right off the ocean through the unit. Each room has overhead fans, and floor fans are added if needed... Aloha !
