About Sandra

My husband and I built this Sheepscot Shores home in 2001. I grew up in Wiscasset and my husband, who grew up in New Jersey, loved this area and we decided this waterfront property would be a perfect fit to build a home. We have 5 children and we all have spent many holidays and celebrations at the home, along with our extended family.

Sandra purchased this house in 2001

Why Sandra chose Wiscasset

I have always loved being by the water and this property is located on a dead end road, is very quiet, and the view is beautiful no matter what time of year it is. It is close to coastal Route 1, a popular road for traveling along the coast, and it's easy commutes to all that the Mid Coast has to offer. It's also an easy drive to some of Maine's lakes and beaches.

What makes this house unique

The house is 75 feet from the water's edge, and there is an easy walkway getting down to the water. The large deck, located on the waterfront side of house, is great for sitting outside and taking in the view. A grocery store is only a 5 minute drive and less than that to the village of Wiscasset where many small shops are located, including antiques. Red's Eat's, a very popular and nationally known eatery, is located in the village as well. They offer the best lobster and crab rolls in Maine!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time in your beautiful home! You provide everything we could have needed and more. The accommodations are also very child friendly, which was greatly appreciated as our families grow. We are a group of friends who meet yearly from various parts of the US and your home was perfect for us!

A Perfect Week!

  • 5 of 5

After over a month of painstakingly checking out rental homes in the mid-coast Maine region last spring, I decided on this one for our surprise family celebration of my husband's 60th birthday in September. The minute we walked in the house, everyone knew I had made the right choice! Not only was the house in a great location for traveling either north or south for a day's exploration (which we did - the Windjammer Festival in Camden; Pemaquid Lighthouse; a schooner ride in Boothbay; kayaking in East Bath; LL Bean; a wonderful day in Kennebunkport, just to name a few!), the house was also perfect for just staying home and relaxing (which we also did - quiet moments in the chair by the water, grilling out on the deck, boiling lobsters at $3.99/lb - WOW!, and putting together jigsaw puzzles on the coffee table to the sounds of a crackling fireplace at night). We found everything immaculate and loved the fact that there were so many little extras in the house that Sandra had provided (the cooler to get lobsters from the market; the amazing spice drawer in the kitchen; the stocked laundry room, etc.). You just don't see that in many other rental homes - you have to start from scratch when you arrive and end up with a lot of extra expenses. Our family of 10 loved the three-floor opportunity to be together (or to not be!), the incredible back deck (and view), and the warm and inviting way the house was decorated. Did I mention the wonderful master bedroom and bath? WOW! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We made a memory that will last the rest of our lives!

Loved this house

  • 5 of 5

The house and location were wonderful. It is a great location for exploring the coast. We had plenty of room for the 4 couples and the view off the deck was spectacular. We saw an eagle twice from the deck. The week we were there was very hot, my only suggestion would be to add an air conditioner to the 3rd bedroom upstairs.

Family Get Away

  • 5 of 5

My family had an awesome vacation here at this beautiful home. The house is so roomy and met all of our expectations! We enjoyed cooking lobster out on the deck which has a gorgeous view of the river. We went to Popham beach one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. Also a short trip to Boothbay Harbor. Thank You for everything Sandra!

So much fun!

  • 5 of 5

My family had the best time at Sheepscot Shores. The weather was not the greatest so the roominess of the house became so important. We had three families with children, including two babies, and everyone loved the house. The deck is beautiful and spacious, we grilled and spent a great deal time outside. We used the canoe, the view from the house is beautiful. Well stocked...loved the spice drawer! The kids loved the toy room. Thank you Sandra for a wonderful vacation.
