Timber Frame Guest Cottage

Bedrooms 1
Property type house

About the property

House, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5)

Our Timber Framed Guest Cottage is a very sweet cozy place completely furnished for your comfort. It has one bedroom and a large loft area with another queen bed and one twin bed to sleep up to 5 people total. There is a gas fireplace and large gas grill on the back deck. Bathroom is small but sweet with a claw foot tub to soak in if desired or shower with enclosed curtain.

The cottage is located in a very quiet area of town on the edge of an aspen grove and field of wild flowers. It is just one block off the main road through town and is walking distance to a variety of services and shops - restaurants, antiques, golf, groceries, car rentals, AmTrak train station (summer season only), horseback riding, and shuttle services to all hiking tails and lodges within Glacier National Park (summer season only).

It can also be a great winter get away if you like to cross country ski, back country skiing and snowboarding. Essex is a 1/2 hour drive that offers miles of groomed xc ski trails - classic and skate.

The cottage shares a very large yard with our other rental home right next door (VRBO listing # 328250). It is an ideal setting if traveling with a large group or multiple families. There are yard games to enjoy as well: badmitten, croquet, volleyball, soccer, etc. We also have a few bicycles available for your use - single speed 'townie' type bikes to roam around the town of East Glacier on.

We are in a great location to come and explore Glacier National Park all four seasons. Come relax and enjoy the town of East Glacier Park and the national park while staying in our cottage.

Lovely vacation home.

We had a great stay! The cottage is warm and homey with a well supplied kitchen, a fabulous shower head, comfortable beds, a cozy living room, and quiet surroundings. A softer light over the table might be nice. With so many windows, we got a nice little breeze in the bedroom and in the loft - wonderful for sleeping! This trip was our first time staying on the east side of Glacier and I highly recommend the Timber Frame Guest Cottage. It's an oasis. The perfect place to unwind and relax.

Owner's Response: Laurie, thanks for your review and I'm so glad you had a lovely time in Glacier Park and at our cottage. I also appreciate the feedback about lighting above the table and will look into trying to improve that.

Perfect cabin for family of 5

  • 5 of 5

We weren't sure what to expect, other than the fact that I had read really positive reviews. Our family of 5 loved this little house! It was a much needed reprieve after our daily long hikes in GNP. The cabin was stocked with everything you could imagine including bear spray! We used the gas grill almost every night and loved being able to eat home cooked meals at night. The town of East Glacier Park is very tiny, so plan to do your grocery shopping ahead of time.

We made wonderful memories here! Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful little cabin with us.

It is with a grateful heart, that my friends and I write this review. Glacier National Park has two very different sides. The East is closer to Canada and closer to the Glacier hikes. The West is busier, but, you are closer to the Flathead Lake area, and Flathead Cherries in July, The Timber Frame Guest Cottage fit the bill for our group. Located in a very quite location on the East side. The Timber Frame Cottage was very clean, well maintained, a lot of attention to details, affordable, and very easy working with the owner, Colleen. I would recommend it to readers of reviews.

Perfect access to wonderful town and park

The property is exactly as described, and access to everything is easy. Colleen and Marty provided excellent service and went above and beyond what was expected to make sure our honeymoon was memorable.

The cottage is beautiful and in excellent condition!

Very clean and felt like home

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was the cleanest house we've ever stayed in that we found on VRBO. We used the cottage as our home base for all the hiking we did in Glacier/Waterton. We hiked 55 miles in 6 days and the cottage was the perfect place to come back to every night and relax. It was very private and cozy! We cooked every night and it had everything we needed. We even used the grill one night and it was perfect. The road from the cottage to the St. Mary's area of the park was about 45 minutes. On the drive is where we saw most of our wild life. So be careful! We saw moose, coyote, dear and a bobcat. I would say the drive to the park was about the only downside to the cottage. Oh and a jacuzzi would be nice after all that hiking. If you are looking for a place to stay near Glacier stay here! Marty and was wonderful! Check out was easy. Thank you Coleen for sharing your beautiful home!!

Owner's Response: Mary Kathryn, I am so glad you had a fantastic time hiking in the park and found our place relaxing and comfortable. Your right - a hot tub would be the icing on the cake for our place after a long day of hiking in the park. Maybe some day! It sounds like you also had incredible wildlife sightings. Way to go and get out there! Thanks again for the positive review and look us up again if you plan to return for more Glacier adventures. Colleen

Great private cottage near Glacier National Park

  • 5 of 5

This property was perfect for our family of 5. Plenty of privacy, clean, sufficient space, comfortable beds, washer/dryer, and located in a very nice small town of East Glacier National Park. Located a little over an hour away from St Mary and Many Glacier entrances to Glacier Park. We even made longer drives to Waterton in Alberta and West Glacier. The property mgr, Marty, was great and offered good tips on restaurant and activities.
